Just got the 140 yesterday, and initially I wasn't doing too well in it I concluded that it was a personal issue, and continued playing it. Now I love it (so far at least, only got 15 matches or so in it) It's also hilarious to bounce shells off of the front by peeking out and baiting shots at an angle So far I haven't been set on fire, BUT I have noticed that what you said is true: the fuel tank loves being damaged, along with the ammo rack Hence this is one of the few tanks that I run the more expensive repair kit instead of the typical cheap version Cheers for the guide!
I used to think the 140 was something special, but by the time I ground my way up to it, I found out it wasn't. I got the 121b for bonds, and what a difference. I am going for the Stb-1 now which is what I should have started with in the first place
Good CHoice my friend, After grinding out UDES 16. Centurion AX, Obj 430 u, BC25t ( basically all the mediums in the game), I reached the conclusion that the BEST OF THE BEST ARE : 1) STB-1 (AMAZING HULL-DOWN and 5 sec reload with 360 Alpha), TVP/VTU ( OP Autoloader 4 shells, 1 sec intra-clip ) and UDES 15/16 which is a HULLDOWN Monster..potato shooter ( you tend to miss allot due to the clunky suspension, but almost impenetrable in the right spot )
I actually thought the Lion would be ok, but the Tvp T 50/51 will rip it apart. Strangely I have started using the TL7 in the same roll and it makes loads of credits and bonds while shooting full gold, just the reload is too long@@KarmaTHC
140 suffers from the same issue as light tanks. in 2023 with current equipment and field mods the dpm and mobility doesn matter because its dang near im possible to lock people in place and use your gun the way its meant to be used
Also dont forget about the price of the shells. 320 damage gun in tier 10 is just credit sinker when with just paying 190 more credit and u got 420 damage in the leo gun that has more pen. More damage and more pens means u can kill stuffs faster with less shell, means more profit/income.

Ob.140 is a support tank. to play on the second line. detection and flanking. never play him in the first line. that's why you get off the board quickly
I've got it several weeks back and I play it entirely differently then you do. Though I don't have all the mods and my crew is 2-3skill. I use Vents + CVS + Improved aiming. It works well I think. Had even one 11k combined game, which I'm kind of proud of. I avoid snapshotting and try aiming and that seems to be rather important for this tank. I basically treat it like german gun LT. Your point about BBQ is valid though this tank can't handle well being hit anyway.
Ironically I just unlocked the obj140 a few days ago and I think the gun is about one of its best advantages. Sure, it's not a lot of alpha but the second you get to freefire at someone it absolutely shreds.
Just did 4k in my first battle with the tank, the alpha is not much buts till rols 350-380 sometimes with 5.2 reload time... on top of that you have 1530 shell velocity which is monster
For me it worked better using vents, rammer and improved aiming, and playing as a mid to long range damage dealer, you still have great dpm if you have to brawl, but thats a last resort for me. . I find if i am only exposing my turret, i don't get set on fire, in situations where I do, the game is usually lost already, and I am hit while running away.
I noticed on yesterdays stream someone thought that if you had "rental" Object 283, you wouldn't get it from the loot boxes. Well I had a load of rentals (green tick next to the tank in prize list) and it was the first one out. Also on Dez's stream a load of others got it first as well. Plus once you get or already have all the tanks, the minimum box roll protection disappears, so you don't get as much gold compensation for duplicates as at Christmas. So please let people know it is a rip-off!
The reason I’m going for 140 is that I enjoy type 59 gameplay. But years of practice have warned me that any gun smaller than 120mm at tier X is not flexible enough. On hulldown situation, 120mm can fire HE freely while 100mm can only fire gold rounds and pray that it pens.
There are three issues IMO with this tank. One is the fuel tank hit box in the front is absolutely massive and gets damaged constantly even with the module HP increase from equipment. Compare the module layout of the 140 to the 907 and the 430U and you will see. Second issue is the alpha is too low. WG should consider bringing the alpha up to 360 and lower the reload speed so the DPM stays the same. Third is the engine needs some more power. The top speed is fine it's just sluggish getting there. With those changes it still wouldn't be better than a Centurion or an STB but it would be better to play.
First game with 140, 6.6k damage, my personal record. After that I havent had any better games, but it was enough for me to fall in love with it. It may not be meta, but it is still okay
Thanks for the video. Imho, 140 is still a good tank, but you are absolutely right, that hardening almost killed it. Track health is just too good. Hp boost, alright, reduced repair time, fine, damaged track is not damaged, ahhh, ok, but track health. This module alone made t110e3 and 268v4 so toxic (coupled with turbo), because it is almost impossible to bypass them. 140 shines in a platoon, where you need to support clipper (tvp, bat chat, maybe 50b), or when is-7 or 277 is covering you, while you are outdpming everyone. As a solo, it is complicated to play any medium nowadays, especially after equipment 2.0. I would say now, the best pick for randoms would be udes 15/16. Hull down it is actually op, but even on the flat ground, 440 is just super nice alpha, with decent accuracy and dpm. Plus, unlike any other medium, you do not care what map you are playing
Truer fact have never been spoken. I cannot count the number of times, while playing this tank, I am I doing amazing because the gun has fired so much only to look down and see a paltry 1700 damage.
I got my 140 couple of days ago... Even though I don't really play Tier 10s (apart from onslaught), it's kinda one of the OG tanks so I went for it. First the grind, T-44 was somewhere between trash and garbage (I suppose it would get better with upgrades but I just couldn't force myself to play it), so I just went for the engine and straight to T-54. That one started meh, but then I decided to go for the alternative/accurate top gun and I actually enjoyed it. 140 was a disappointment - the tank feels sluggish compared to T-54, I cannot get the gun to work and you are correct - you fire a lot and then you check the damage and see 1000. Also, for some reason, RUclips stopped showing me your content, I had to dig a bit to find you again...
OBJ 140 is a good tank and if it just had 7 degrees of gun depression it’d be my most played tier 10 tank instead of the Leopard. The 1 tank is do firefighting before repairs on. Played smart by a decent player it can still have great games. The T54 tier 9 is a awesome tank but with the silver pen I sold it as not a good fit for me since I don’t like to pay for gold rounds

Tank was amazing back in early-mid 2014, than they released the patch that reduced the chance of shells going center and you were left with a fast firing low alpha potato. Lobbing shells into the general direction of an enemy hoping for RNG to not screw you. But quite often aren't your shells not even going close, so you just waste ammo bouncing or missing. Sure same thing applies to high alpha guns, but you aren't as long, as often exposed. Really ruined low alpha, fast firing tanks, specially with addition of equipment/modifications that increase track health.
I’ve had a couple good games with 140 (7k+) but most of the time the gun is really troll and can’t hit anything. I guess it’s just what happens when a soviet tank has good gun handling on paper.
Thank you for this video! is that 0.02 better/smaller bloom during movement worth it? i am using T3 exp hardening, rammer and vents. don't really feel the need for vert stabs on this tank. at least i can not feel the difference between 0.06 and 0.08 dispersion during movement. PS! one thing to mention regarding the crew is, that t-44 has loader as a radio operator instead of the commander. I just started marking it, and found that out as a surprise. I did not notice it 8-9 years ago, last i played it:)
can someone tell me what is this mission? "receive at least 3 plasma charges in each of 4 different battles." last part is clear, but what are these plasma charges. i have taken down the shield 3 times in one game a lot, but i only have completed the mission 2 times. so i guess it is not that. is it to get hit by WT 3 times in one game:)?
"Painful" Yes that is my experience with this tank, expensive to play and you need to shoot a gazillion times to do any damage. T-54 is the same. Oh yeah the bonus of burning, I forgot to add. Hard pass...
@@MaxGamingFPS Wait, that's the one I have. 90% sure. But mine puts total assist and tracking assist and spotting assist and spotted counter and crit counter on separate rows. Which means there's only two rows left for damage-done log, and that's pretty annoying. Maybe there's a config for it?

The T-44 and and T-54 have the radio operator on the loader, who moves to the Obj 140 commander which is a tad annoying

Low alpha guns are just overall worse nowadays, it’s more of a trade-off game instead of DPM fighting.

It works fabulously with a 430U. Armor to eat shells and high alpha, plus it's pretty much your speed and camo

Feels even worse when u look at the after battle report and u saw how much u have to pay for the ammunition cost.
It was track locker, but with hp eq and field mods it doesn't have any role to play. It need bigger alpha and more reliable gun now imo.

I actually gained 4km/h when switching that field mod at 4:32. I think 4km is not bad.. at 57kmh now.
The 140 is likely to be burning a lot now, with all the "WTF" auf E100's about on rental
How about side by side comparisons, like you did with STRV-K and Chieftain Proto about a year ago?

It's better than a K91, mainly because of the fully traversable turret.
The Obj 430u has way more armor. In about the same pkg with higher alpha. I like it way better than the 140... way easier to play...

Max, what mod do you use for the split assist damage and spotted tanks counter? I use a different one, and it takes too much space for my liking.
