Thanks so much for making this video! It really helps to know what a day would look like before jumping into a certification program or degree in ABA. I’m an RBT currently and am in the midst of making the decision on getting my BCBA.. your video and advice is super helpful 👍
I'm just starting my training for RBT but I plan to get my BCBA. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do BCBA because I was under the impression that the RBT is the one who works directly with the child..which is what I want to do. So as a BCBA you still work directly with them as well? I thought the BCBA came up with the activities/lessons and the RBT is the one who actually did them?
Primarily, my job is do assessments and come up with the programming, etc. but I do occasionally do direct sessions. Usually it's if an RBT cancels but sometimes I request a 1:1 session so I can do protocol modification and probe skills, make sure the data is accurate and they actually have the skills that they're getting 100% on, or even update their assessments.

I also wanted to know, did you become a RBT before or did you go straight into working towards becoming a BCBA? Great video, and keep up the good work!
I was an RBT for 3 years before becoming a BCBA. Highly recommend starting out this way!
