This was no way my thing. I’ve seen your earlier videos on it and said what the hell. That actually looks like a lot of fun. Showed my kid the trailer since she played trombone. She gave me a funny look. Picked it up last night and have been having a blast. My kid calls me and says oh my god you actually got it. I told her she’s talking to a world leaderboard trombone player and she needed to treat me with more respect.
Im usually a fan of music and rhythm games. Big drums rock fan for example. For $15 usd this was an easy buy; esp knowing that it helps Flat 2VR with their maiden voyage in the market. Also, can we talk about how the "snap" that the menus have concurrent with pointing at the menu items, makes for a really great experience
@@twitcherthesingleplayergamecat Ah yes, an argument of semantics. I refer to everything that can be played flat and VR a "hybrid," (for simplicity) but we'll have to wait for the zeitgeist to settle on a definition. Give it 5 years.
I was in the same boat thinking that I wouldn't like the game. I bought it cuz it was cheap and I wanted to support the devs. I played for hours it is a lot of fun and they did an amazing job converting it to VR.
It is very telling that (almost) no original sound from the game appears in this review. I've seen videos where I couldn't stand the sound for five minutes...
Also Flat2VR are, and have been, working on several other titles concurrently with this one. Give them their due. Yes, on the surface this game seems very basic and simple, but it's been accomplished with great polish and flair, tbh.
@@minners71 and you say this without even trying it. Ok. I was skeptical too, rhythm games are not my cup of tea, but I was surprised with Trombone, it's kinda stupid but still funny and entertaining. Don't skip it just because it's a game where you play an instrument, for 15 bucks it's something very entertaining and worth it.

I just bought this game, as I was impressed by the reviews, ratings, and price. And I love a good hybrid!
It's not a hybrid. It's an entirely separate game from the flat version.
But it's really good.

@SeanLumly fairy nuff

I play the trombone… yeah, it’s a game about playing a trombone. Sadly no F trigger though.
Its great fun and offers a new type of VR experience which i'm all on board for.
Thanks for the useful info 🎉 I'm gonna grab it soon

5 Minutes! How did you manage that? awful sounding game.
Great review
You breaking down at abt 2:40 in the video made me smile. :) Nice review.
I will buy it to support Flat2VR studios. Should I buy it for Quest 3 or PSVR2?
Psvr2
Both
(but yeah, PSVR2 for the haptics. They're used really, really well in this title. Fairly subtle, but really effective)
Takes a flat to vr studio months to do this, while one guy on PC made Silent hill 2 in full vr in just 2 months. Think Sony bought the wrong guy(s)
Sony didn't buy Flat2VR....

@@twitcherthesingleplayergamecat So has the Silent Hill VR mod and again ONE guy working for less than 2 months. Plus Resi 2 vr mod.
Hard pass for me. I don't want to play an instrument as a game.
your loss :)
@@mAx_71 Not really, there is so much better VR games than this.
