I've been looking for a channel like this for YEARS and I'm so so so unbelievably happy to have found your channel I thought I was the only one who didn't like the electronical stuff in the music and thought Cirque's shows were declining but this review makes me so incredibly happy, thank you so so so much
100% agree with the adagio act! It’s so beautiful and dynamic! Plus the addition of Raquel’s singing and Todd on the drums ups Vai Vedrai ten fold from the album version
I flew to Miami in January 2020 to see this. I loved it. I was planning on seeing it again in Chicago but they cancelled that show due to the pandemic. Concerning the music: the live arrangements were not what you hear on the album. I don't know why they went that route on the recording, but all of the instruments and vocals were performed live then, same as they are now.
It was hard not to be disappointed when the marketing made it look like they were bringing back the original show as it was turns out to be a completely different show all together with vague similarities to the original. there are some updates to the new show that I think worked really well but overall I think the original was better. I miss the dark brooding tone and ambiguities.
I saw the original Alegria in the early 2000s in Denver, and saw the new version this past July in Portland, OR. Fantastic shows. Absolutely loved the original, and loved the comedy breaks, and the story that was told. That said, I have to agree with you - the main character (in red) this time around definitely tied the show together. Huge fan of Fast/Power Track, and the fire guy coupled with the drummer from the band made for a very powerful act - they played off each other very well. I also really enjoyed the bars act - even though you could clearly see the wires attached to a couple of the performers, they still impressed me with their athletic abilities. I also enjoyed spending the extra $$$ for the VIP experience and was treated very well by the staff - and it didn't hurt being about 5 rows from center stage that made for a great view.
Love these review video !! Finally Vai Vedrai Duo gets love it deserve :) But I would only change the title for Alegria: In A New Light, this show can't be mix with the original Alegria ;)
they really changed the songs?? i need them to re-release the soundtrack then 😂 also yeah!! the place they gave malioumba is one of the best things i've seen in a while
Damn bro! How can you hate the Nostalgic Old Birds? From the first show they was awesome and very deeply sad characters! Especially the Wilfrid, (the yellow bird from the Powertrack) he's main song is Valsapena! Have you read Valsapena lyris? Man those characters are like Returne to Inocence song from Enigma, but I'm talking about the original show, I don't know from the new one, maybe they are aweful now. But by the bit what I saw they combine Monsieur Fleur and the yellow bird. On the original show Fleur reprecents completly corrouption, he's irredeemable, but in the new show they give him a redemption.
@@darioshame Well I actually cant blame you, I never saw the first show in person, just the DVD and a few filtered out show videos, and I read about the original show a lot, not so a big fan too, but it was a very emotional show, especially because Fraco Dragone said he was very depresed when he made it, and it's very noticeable 😌
I actually made 3 TikToks explaining my thoughts on this 2018 remake And I’m just gonna say. for me it was such a downgrade The original 1995 show is on of my childhood favorites. And I’ve never seen a show remake that just feels so….. off From the electric music to even some of of costumes. Like idk why they gave the singer in black a completely different look. They should of just given her the white singer’s dress but maybe covered in black raven feathers. It would of been more accurate to the original 1995 classic. Same thing with the stage. I don’t hate the new 2018 stage. I love how it still has that diamond shape. But the set itself could of looked better. They really should of kept the original have dome shape that the original had and still make it look like an old decaying cathedral Also it would of been even of the clown did that classic yet amazing act with the coat that was created by the genius Mr Slava. Idk I just feel like this 2018 remake of one of cirque du soleil’s most successful touring shows deserved so much better……. But that’s just me
