Out of all the "dirt bike clutch wheelie" vids I've seen, this by far, is the most comprehensive and easiest vid to learn how to actually wheelie from.. Thanks dude!
Hey man! I took a break from RUclips for a bit but I'm back and answering everyone's comments ? uploading new vids! Check them out! Thanks man! I'm stoked it helped you guys! Hit me up with some pics of your wheelies and ill repost them if your'e cool with it that is! Send them to my Instagram RyanFMX_222
Thank you Ryan I really appreciate your video. Hanging out with friends and they tell me to wheelie I am embarrassed cause I'm scared. Your video helped me overcome my fears while Noone is watching! Thank you
I have been getting into wheelies but these tips really improved my technique. The ones about Looking straight and using more clutch over throttle helped me the most
I had this same problem and it seemed to never go away and is just something that you have to deal with. After a while i found it easier to get at that back break when i would lean my back further over the back of the bike. I found my self trying to lean forward way to much when the front tire was up. Hope this helps!!
Hey if you are still having problems with turning as you do this try leaning and kind of point your front fender in the direction you wanna go and itll take some practice but it really works well for me
Hey Dude. I had that same problem when i started learning. To stop the rear tire from spinning try not to learn on a gravel or concrete road. I used grass witch seemed to give me the most traction. Also trying to learn going up hill really helps with bringing that front tire off the ground. When it comes to your front tire feeling like its coming up quick thats most likely due to way to much gas when popping the clutch. Make sure your doing all the body motions like pulling up on the........
you know what you're talking about, that's nice to see. i personally think that back brake is the most important thing about wheeling and first thing you should actually do is to get comfortable with the brake, so you don't pull it over.
That's a four štròke which is easier to wheelie all u have to do is sit at back of seat with foot on brake read(back), pull the throttle and pull the bars up whilst leaning back like on a push bike
my second ride on my new two stroke i thought i would try a wheelie (going from a xr100 to a 105xc) and very soon found out that i dont need to pull hard and two strokes will buck you off if you dont respect em'. This video helps alot, dont know if im comfortable enough to try again though...
I was practicing slow wheelies the other week i just couldn't get them i came of and i had four inches of dirt stuck in my exhaust pipe ill try again next time i go out and use your tips thanks man.
To turn on a wheelie this is what I do i turn the bars the opposite way your heading... and lets say you going left.. start on a curve that is leaned to the left, pop a wheelie and turn the bars the opposite direction your going (right) and once there turned slightly pull on them and barely lean it is scary at first but once you get it you do it like every time you possibly can! its so fun!
I just went out and did one on my 250f it wasn't that hard just the confidence to do it was the hardest part but after that it's easy this vid definitely helped tho thanks.
Great video exactly what I was looking for I have a yz85 what gear should I try to wheelie in I'm just starting out on wheelies so like 2nd gear or 3rd I don't know what gear if you can help me out that would be great :) thank
hey man thx for your tutorial! i need to learn the wheelie on the motorcycle but im really good on my downhill bike..to give you an advise regarding the turning during the wheelie: its not the leaning to the side to make it turn. its more like a twist you give to the bike:consider your main body steady during the wheelie, now you give with your legs a sideway push to the bike without any leaning movement.e.g.:you wanna turn left so your right leg followed by your right hib has to push forward as you wanna turn the bike left around an imaginary vertical axis going through the rear tire...also try at the same time the same twist with your arms, right hand push forward left hand pulls handle bar back towards you. let me know if it helped....
awsome! your first video tought me how to wheelie, im still not good at it considering i never have time to practice, but hell i get it up.... i can kinda turn in a wheelie, the way it was discribed to me is twist, not lean, try to throw your body out to the left or right, maybe jerk the bars with it too, i cant realy do it that well but maybe you can lol
well done, good advice. i'm trying to learn on my crf450. i don't need to clutch it up just whisky throttle and it comes up in any gear. i would love to see you do this same type of video on a big 4 stroke like mine. everything should be the same just minus the clutch work, right?
thanks for this video man ..I was good at doing wheelie on 4 stroke but since I bought KTM sx 250 I am kinda afraid to do it ...this hopefully help me ...Can you record a vid how to do stoppie? :D
Use the balance point to shift gears. Bring the front up really high to were it feels like your gonna go back and then shift with no clutch and no gas.
Grip the throttle hard and the clutch handle too. This is something that happens allot less or not at all once your comfortable popping the front tire off the ground.
I guess a good tip to also add to this video is the gear you'd ideally want to be in. although yes you can perform a wheelie in every gear 1 - 5 it is best to be in a lower gear 2 preferably you can do it in 5 but it'll require you to pull back on your bike because you're already in max gear so clutch popping isn't gonna help you on its own you'll need to provide aid. Also I found wheeling into turns easy if you stand up when you turn then go straight into wheelie from there don't immediately sit though once you're in the wheelie or you'll throw balance off and crash (bad experience)
Great vid bud, I got a CR250 and was always nervous to wheelie. Hit jumps and ride trail but was worried I would flip the bike. After watching your vid it have me more confidence. I have it a shot this weekend. Didn't go all that well but got the front end up. Need more practice to do those sweet slow wheelies. Any tips for doing it on a 2 stroke 250? I'm a small guy 5'7" 150lbs so this bike is a beast for me lol
hi there. nice video ! so, I have a little problem : when I pop the clutch on grass (offroad) the rear wheel just spins.. why is that ? also, is there any way to get rid of the feeling that I'm going up too quickly and I'm gonna flip backwards if I don't let off the gas ? (even if my front wheel is at 10 cm above the ground , 0:13 in the video response) btw you make it look easier with your kx.. you don't even reach the powerband lol.. To rise my front tire I have to give it x3 more gas..
I just bought myself a 125 ttr 4 stroke and would like to know how hard or easy it would be before I try to do a wheelie. Also, it would be my first attempted wheelie.
I have a crf450 never tried to wheelie. Going to try now. :-D any advice? since its a 4stroke is it much different to wheeling on a 2 stroke? what would you say is more easy to wheelie on? 2 stroke or 4 stroke?
I just bought a Crf230F, somewhat low tred, bigger sprocket (for hill climbing) and competitor exhaust. tis is the first bike i acually want to learn how to do a wheelie, i can do small wheelies when stopped. but i need some tips, do you got anyting?
i did bmx for years, so i can imagine that leaning in a wheelie to turn wouldnt be much different? i could be wrong. when you get your front wheel up and find that balance point, twist your body using your shoulders, slightly in the direction you want to turn, your in control of the bike, not the bike control you. so you need to guide it. also point your front wheel in the direction you want to go. also body position, leaning your body the way you want to go. if this comment is useless i apologise, but if it helps please let me know :)
You could try pushing a little on one foot peg, if you can find a long stretch try just going straight and steering with your feet, by pressing on either foot peg, it should work during wheelies, cant hurt to try
What about shifting gears during a wheelie? I can only do it if I'm going full throttle and have great traction (like a paved road). But when I got the wheelie going good I pull in the clutch to shift then the bike goes down.. .
hey man ive got a atomik 125 thumpstar, and i can pop up the front end a bit, (about a foot or so) but it allways wants to go back down and i dont wanna give it too much juice cause i feel like im going to flip it, any tips? great vid, i gave you a sub and like :)
To turn lean ur but over the seat to the side u wanna go but make sure it's over the side of the seat so u have the most wait and it helps the faster ur going
HAHAHAH "Two fingers on the clutch, Some girls like 3" HAHAHAHHA
Out of all the "dirt bike clutch wheelie" vids I've seen, this by far, is the most comprehensive and easiest vid to learn how to actually wheelie from.. Thanks dude!

Hey man! I took a break from RUclips for a bit but I'm back and answering everyone's comments ? uploading new vids! Check them out!

Thank you Ryan I really appreciate your video. Hanging out with friends and they tell me to wheelie I am embarrassed cause I'm scared. Your video helped me overcome my fears while Noone is watching! Thank you
I have been getting into wheelies but these tips really improved my technique. The ones about Looking straight and using more clutch over throttle helped me the most
Yes! Thats a good point. Some time if I feel the bike might stall I use the clutch to keep the bike moving. It takes allot of practice to master.
I had this same problem and it seemed to never go away and is just something that you have to deal with. After a while i found it easier to get at that back break when i would lean my back further over the back of the bike. I found my self trying to lean forward way to much when the front tire was up. Hope this helps!!
Thanks man yeah the back brake is defiantly the most important safety part.
Hey if you are still having problems with turning as you do this try leaning and kind of point your front fender in the direction you wanna go and itll take some practice but it really works well for me
Thanks bro, ur wheelie tips works for me. Am all the way out here in Jamaica.
great vid man, thanks, cant wait to try tomorrow
Thanks dude how'd it go?

Great tips! My wife didn't appreciate them but I did! It 's that "your gonna break something" mentality. LOL
Good video dude, gonna give this a whirl. Last time i done it i was running behind the bike at 30mph me little ole legs couldn't keep up lol.
you know what you're talking about, that's nice to see.
i personally think that back brake is the most important thing about wheeling and first thing you should actually do is to get comfortable with the brake, so you don't pull it over.

That's a four štròke which is easier to wheelie all u have to do is sit at back of seat with foot on brake read(back), pull the throttle and pull the bars up whilst leaning back like on a push bike
the is the real actual demo.. a great teacher.
Thanks dude!
can't afford to buy ktm, i have enduro bike but very heavy on front, it's 150cc, still afraid of wheelie lol :D
Jon Snow i have a 150 aswell the power to weight ratio makes it a bit hard to get good time and angle
Thanks for the great vids !! 125's are hard to wheelie !!
Sorry about your loss. Stay strong !!!
What happened?
Thanks man. I will for sure.
finally a decent video on how to wheelie. broken down the right way.
my second ride on my new two stroke i thought i would try a wheelie (going from a xr100 to a 105xc) and very soon found out that i dont need to pull hard and two strokes will buck you off if you dont respect em'. This video helps alot, dont know if im comfortable enough to try again though...

I just went out and did one on my 250f it wasn't that hard just the confidence to do it was the hardest part but after that it's easy this vid definitely helped tho thanks.

Thanks dude mind giving it a share?
Great video exactly what I was looking for I have a yz85 what gear should I try to wheelie in I'm just starting out on wheelies so like 2nd gear or 3rd I don't know what gear if you can help me out that would be great :) thank

Great video, thanks my man ***** Cant wait to try out these tips.
Thanks man glad you liked it! How'd it go?
I like how you pop a joke in there every now and then.. Haha. This has helped me. New sub!
Hey Ryan to turn a dirt bike during a wheelie you just have to steer so you want to go right turn the handle bars left vice versa
really nice tutorial!
what gear should i be in? i ride a rm 125
thanks for this video man ..I was good at doing wheelie on 4 stroke but since I bought KTM sx 250 I am kinda afraid to do it ...this hopefully help me ...Can you record a vid how to do stoppie? :D
Use the balance point to shift gears. Bring the front up really high to were it feels like your gonna go back and then shift with no clutch and no gas.
You can use some of the tips you see in this video but wheelies starting in 3rd and up are mostly done with torque from the bike and rider position.
Haha yeah make sure to be safe! But hey very good video, you explained it very well!
Grip the throttle hard and the clutch handle too. This is something that happens allot less or not at all once your comfortable popping the front tire off the ground.
best tutorial video for the wheelie bro

dude i love ur commentary haha funny as hell... Amsoil is where its at
Thats a good way to start. Practice "bobbing" the front tire off the ground, step two.
i did bmx for years, so i can imagine that leaning in a wheelie to turn wouldnt be much different? i could be wrong. when you get your front wheel up and find that balance point, twist your body using your shoulders, slightly in the direction you want to turn, your in control of the bike, not the bike control you. so you need to guide it. also point your front wheel in the direction you want to go. also body position, leaning your body the way you want to go. if this comment is useless i apologise, but if it helps please let me know :)

Thanks bro I learned in 10 min thanks 👌👌
Thanks for the like and the fav man! Mind sharing it on Facebook or any forums you cruise? it helps heeps! Thanks again!

Hey man that's awesome! No problem glad to help! Give this a share for me!
@Ryan BacheldorFMX when I'm in first do I need to pop the clutch or just give it has and let it come up I have a yz85
hey man ive got a atomik 125 thumpstar, and i can pop up the front end a bit, (about a foot or so) but it allways wants to go back down and i dont wanna give it too much juice cause i feel like im going to flip it, any tips?
great vid, i gave you a sub and like :)
What year is your kx bro ? Im definitly gonna try this stuff out thanks !
Try leanin back over your rear tire more and also remember to pull up at the same time you drop the clutch.
Thanks man that really helped me I'm so much better at it know
i can only pop up..it scary too cat walk far..ill keep trying too like you said ill keep trying thanks for the tips bro
Thanks dude im glad it helped.
Does this work in other gears?, just use a little more gas and pull harder on the handlebars?
Can you do a video on how to shift gears while doing a wheelie
I pop it then dont pull it in unless i have too. Some times i use the clutch to keep the bike up.
To turn lean ur but over the seat to the side u wanna go but make sure it's over the side of the seat so u have the most wait and it helps the faster ur going
No problem man glad it helped!
Great tutorial! Thanx!
great vid! ,thanx it helped alot
thank you men your video realy helped far me...
When you have the front wheel up are u still holding in the clutch are do u let go?
A mix of in the middle of the seat and way over the rear tires.
Good tips man!
Should it be in gear 1 or 2? i usually pop my wheelies on 2nd and i dont make a long or either a slow ones.....isit because of the cc?
Im use to my 400ex and just bought a yz 125 but is it really any different with like shifting in a wheelie like from clutch ups
