Have you ever stopped to think about how harmful tourism is to the planet...in so very many ways, the nature, forests, mountains, rivers, lakes, wildlife are affected in many negative ways. Not to mention the sledge dogs being overworked and kept in horrible ways, the authorities here in Kiruna and on other places have had to take hundreds of those dogs into custody as they live in dirt, in cold cages and works so much their bodies give up...Mother Earth and all life not here to be consumed to fulfill individual urge and adventure...Step out of your self for a little while and think, really think, about what mark your lifestyle and you choices make upon planet Earth...
@@philnessnz So we are supposed to cheer up while tourism destroys our land. Well, thank you. Then us indigenous never had much value in the eyes of people like yourselves...
Tourism can be harmful, you are right. But I believe that even though I am French, I am also a citizen from the world, like you, and like every human being on this planet. That means that Earth is for everyone, and you can come in France as much as I can come in Sweden, because where we are born should not constrain what places we have access to. In my case, it was not mass tourism. We were in a little Airbnb, 15 mn away from Kiruna, with few water and electricity. We used wood to warm the house. We took the plane for the round trip, because of organization reasons, and we took the train to go back home. We were students in Stockholm for a semester, and it was a 18 hours trip (instead of 15 hours). There, we respected the nature, we had the opportunity to see where the sledge dogs were kept, their shelter, and we were being told by a verified company that they only run twice a day, 15 minutes each time. The rest of the time they live in nice shelter, with nice food, and the most important with lots of love. We contributed on a very little scale to the development of the region, and gave money to a Sami community to visit their place and discover their wonderful culture. You don't know how I like to do tourism. I do trekking, I take the train, the last time I took the plane before this trip in Sweden was in 2021, and the time before 2018. I agree with you that mass tourism is a scourge and should be regulated, because it leads to the destruction of wonderful places where nature should be above everything. We are just a small part of Earth, and we should act like this, instead of destroying the place where we live. I totally stand with you on that. But you should not judge on one video, and you should avoid to consider us egoists with 8 minutes of videos where the goal was to show the best views of the trip. Thank you and have a nice day. I totally consider your opinion and if I understand well you are a Sami indigenous, and I loved your culture. You're welcome in France at anytime !
