It's worth a lot less when not identifiable by manufacturer. Complete, with factory stamping yields the most money. Also, a .22 short is *MUCH* faster at removal.
@justinkendollrozinek Agreed. I'm SOOOO happy I was born a raised in Nashville. We don't have any emission tests anymore. We can cat delete/strait pipe all we want. See more stacked trucks rolling coal the further away from downtown too, it's awesome.
@Jeremy9697 It's also what makes them so valuable. That honeycomb has metal's in it that are worth more than gold pound for pound. Legit seeing all that dust fly everywhere and everything on the ground legit hurt me to look at as an amateur chemist.
I heard he had a huge intake ,had to distributor some and alternate between the Heir Con and old Crank the basted,..he went Head first valve over tit , did his bottom end in right proper.. amen.
and have a headache every time you drive beyond 5 miles!? edit: All you super mechanics that can't read anything without taking it serious as shit or realize when someone is joking or being sarcastic, go find a old carb pre cat vehicle or a diesel truck with no DEF or whatever and go hang next to the exhaust pipe for a few minutes and tell me how you feel after? or is the Meth so Good nothing phases y'all?!
Ya, guaranteed he wasn't wearing a mask and inhaled all that platinum and however many hundred thousands km worth of metal shavings and soot more cancerous than the inside of a furnace. Plantinosis from inhaling platinum causes permanent effects too Id talk him down to 80 dollars worth of work
Yeaaah... i dont think this is a priority for them right now, makes me wonder why that car in the background has no tag, lol, look like hes covered his bases well.
@OddTimeManmy 96 has it after… put two oil fowlers between the sensor and the bung and all is good! There’s a video here on YT explaining how to do this. 6 years now and no code.
@OddTimeManthe ones after the cat are kinda pointless jusy making sure the cat converter is doing its job. The ones before the cat are the most important
@trevorjarvis3050even better they sell mini cats that screw onto the sensor to trick the downstream sensor into having clean readings. That way you don’t have to tune the hole size for the correct flow
@tdawg3960wouldn’t happen to have a link, company name, website… I could go to, do you? Wanna take the cats off an 05 Silverado. Has O2 sensors before and after. Thanks
Remove the O2 sensor and install a spark plug anti fouler on the O2 sensor bung- and reinstall the O2 sensor. The anti fouler pulls the O2 sensor away from the center of the exhaust stream just enough to satisfy it's readings and keep the engine light off.
In the mid to late 70s, I lived in Florida(no emission testing) I bought a new Ford F150 and back then you could still buy leaded gasoline and it was cheaper. So I could run the leaded gas in my F150. I knocked out the insert in the filler neck so I could fit the larger nozzle into the filler tank which contained leaded gas. It ran fine for a while but after a while, the truck wouldn’t do over 30 miles an hour.. I figured out that the catalytic converter was clogged. I took it off, knocked out the inners with a long crowbar, put it back on, and the truck ran fine.
And this is what you do when you want to give lead poisoning to everyone who lives near an interstate. I can't believe you were proud enough to post this.
@agtronicoh but it is true , I've seen it happen to three vehicles over my time as a panel beater tradesman, where people who thought that they knew better welded on the vehicle and not long after the onboard computer shut down owing to the electrical spike from welding.
@KenHughes-oz7mc Ken, no disrespect at all, but the science on this just doesn’t really line up. I’ve been running a welding/fabrication business since 2004 building custom exhausts and roll cages, and I don’t disconnect batteries unless a vehicle is going into long-term storage. In all that time, I’ve had exactly zero ECU failures related to welding. I routinely use GTAW (TIG), which employs a high-frequency start circuit (something that’s often rumored to cause issues) and even with that, I’ve never seen it damage a modern vehicle’s electronics. Electricity follows the path of least resistance. When you’re welding, the current flows from the torch to the ground clamp through the workpiece. It doesn’t randomly travel through control modules looking for trouble. Modern automotive electronics are shielded and protected, and vehicles are designed to handle far more extreme electrical events than welding, a car can even be struck by lightning without frying every onboard module. I don’t doubt that failures have happened in shops over the years, but in practice, on properly grounded vehicles, it’s just not the epidemic people make it out to be.
I did this to my trucks back in the 80’s - early 90’s. Usually it was to unplug a plugged converter. As long as your not in a “Californicated” state you’ll have no worries other than having to put a piece of duck tape over your warning light(s) 😂😂
@Human-bf7kzGranted. The issue will be for the customer, who paid for the cathalitic converter extraction of its components and will have to buy a new catalytic converter down the line.
He went in for an oil change got his catalytic converter grinded and and completely emptied it and had the decency to put a smile face on it to say he's going to make a lot of money off of the material thanks for an oil change as well good work!!!!!😂
So schlimm ist das nicht, der Motor freut sich. Katalysatoren können die Laufbahnen und auch den Kolben beschädigen. Da ein Rückstau von verbrannten Gasen nicht auszuschließen ist! Immer raus damit
If you're in Colorado some kid with a mirror spends about 5 seconds looking under your car to see if there is a muffler and at least one other object in your exhaust system.
Take the heat shield of and cut behind that, then its hidden, in UK is illegal to tamper with cats, I had Nissan elgrand had 4 cats and 2 rear ones block, so I hiden mine under the heat shields
I deleted all emmisons on my Diesel truck. Best upgrade I’ve ever done. If it’s out of warranty delete that shit ! But I live in a free state with no smog testing
I doubt they make out so well under the circumstances. The recycler I used to take my cats to would reference an ID book to verify the cat is OE. If they couldn't verify it, they'd treat is as a generic aftermarket cat and just give you a dollar for it. There's otherwise no way for them to know how much of the precious metals are still in there. Considering this guy vacuumed up part of the cat on top of gutting it, he threw away all his value as soon as he made his first hammer strike.
Two spark plug non foulers. Bore the first one so the o2 sensor fits. Screw those into the second one. Install in pipe. Makes the sensor think the exhaust is cleaner than it is. No more light on dash.
@BarryBen-o5g Reality check: illegal meaning serious fines not to mention jail time in certain states and or countries just for possessing this type of recorded footage alone Dumbass
I bet you dont think people who willingly crossed the border without going through immigration check points to verify, record and document themselves, thus breaking Federal law is not illegal though? AmIright... 😂
Plot twist: customer came in for an oil change.
😂
😂👏🏻
you know how fkin funny that would be!! they got buckets of this stuff in the back LMAO
$50,000 fine in Virginia for doing that
@MarkSturgill-i3p thats some commie shit. Must be alot of californians there
This dude just stole the catalyst material from his customer, and left a smiley face as evidence.
And dog shit welds
He "saved" the cat con
It's worth a lot less when not identifiable by manufacturer. Complete, with factory stamping yields the most money.

@jamesgeorge4874I'm not following. Are you saying shoot a hole in it?
@jamesgeorge487422 long. Rifle a bit too much?
if you did this in california, they would pelt you to death with avocados.
😂
Correction, avocado pits
Por que ??
NY, too. Definitely not passing an inspection.
Because they remember what it was like before smog control.
Better title: How to lobotomize your Catalytic Converter
It should be how to reduce your cars performance and break the law.
@josefj1776 actually the engine will last twice as long think if you couldn't breath right your heart won't last same thing here
@garystrain2788it runs better with a catalyst. Yes it being clogged is not good but it won't work correctly with it missing.
@josefj1776remapped
Car will run lot better and longer without it
And oops you can’t renew your plates while your mechanic sold your platinum
Lol
The rhodium is worth way more, if I remember correctly. I believe there are several materials that are in there that are worth way more.
And why can’t you renew your plates it’s very easy breezy you can actually just do it online and they send you a new stick. Fast and simple.
Or live in a state where they don't fuck with you like that
@justinkendollrozinek Agreed. I'm SOOOO happy I was born a raised in Nashville. We don't have any emission tests anymore. We can cat delete/strait pipe all we want. See more stacked trucks rolling coal the further away from downtown too, it's awesome.
“Save catalytic converter”
>looks inside
>cat delete
No.. Particle filter deleted.. The catalyst is the first part of the chamber, you want that. That actually works.
He's saving that mf for later 😂
@hansanders81mno... all the metals that convert exhuast into less harmful materials are in that honeycomb. Without it you have no cat
@Jeremy9697 It's also what makes them so valuable. That honeycomb has metal's in it that are worth more than gold pound for pound.
Legit seeing all that dust fly everywhere and everything on the ground legit hurt me to look at as an amateur chemist.
@Jeremy9697 ohhh the exhaust smoke touches some gold and magically becomes harmless pixie dust oohhhhh
Here in Ireland it is said that Saint Patrick was the original Catalytic Convertor.
😂 Sounds right.
May God bless the Irish.
He loved cats very much, had a great many to the point of being an addiction. He was a cat-a-holic.
😂😂😂
I heard he had a huge intake ,had to distributor some and alternate between the Heir Con and old Crank the basted,..he went Head first valve over tit , did his bottom end in right proper.. amen.

You simply space out the o2 sensors
Yeah, but this didn't fix it...(I still have P0420 and did the same with my cat)
@joesmoth2610only if you know , you know lol
O2 sensor
I started squinting like the dust was gonna get in my eyes
same here and holding my breath lol
Can't not
😂😂😂
I turned my head when he started welding.. next time we will be prepared l😮 safety glasses check welding helmet check .. 😅😅
🙌👌 me too
Customer states: needs an alignment.
And this is how you make your car smell like its from the early 70s.
I know the smell you speak of because I've got a 77 Impala and there's nothing like the smell of old school exhaust
Not quite. There's nothing like the smell of leaded gas. Unleaded just ain't the same.
and have a headache every time you drive beyond 5 miles!?
edit: All you super mechanics that can't read anything without taking it serious as shit or realize when someone is joking or being sarcastic, go find a old carb pre cat vehicle or a diesel truck with no DEF or whatever and go hang next to the exhaust pipe for a few minutes and tell me how you feel after? or is the Meth so Good nothing phases y'all?!
I miss that smell.
@tonyb3864it’s available, & you can make it as well..
He saved the catalytic converter in his bank account.
I thought the title said this "saved" your convertor, this actually gets rid of it!
Well no he saved it in a bucket
@jamesbonner692 Yeah, it's a "bucket case" now!! LOL
No one will still it now. It's empty. So it's saved from the theft.
it sure saved customer money on buying a new cat. providing they dont need the car inspected any time after this repair.
@Clawson_customsthey probably won’t steal it either
That’s like how my grandpa saved his cigarettes by cutting off the filters.
Life expectancy of Mechanic. 10 years...
Ya, guaranteed he wasn't wearing a mask and inhaled all that platinum and however many hundred thousands km worth of metal shavings and soot more cancerous than the inside of a furnace. Plantinosis from inhaling platinum causes permanent effects too

It says "saved" but i guess they meant "absolutely destroyed".
А чел приехал просто поменять масло.......
😂😂😂😂
И даже не в курсе, что каты спилили😂
Ха-ха😂
😂😂😂😂
Lol that's exactly what I was thinking
Damn I wish I had a dollar for every time someone misspelled catalytic converter here😂
Catatonic Perverter from Epstine Corp
Cathartic converter........ lol
That would be 3 bucks by the time of your post by my count
California converter
It's Cadillac convertible
You can’t pollute the air, but industrial companies can pollute as much as they want
And we buy and use what they produce!
then make sure that they have to follow the same rules by voting for the guy who is not on these companies paycheck
Bro just recorded himself committing a federal crime and posted it up for every government agency to see.
Yeaaah... i dont think this is a priority for them right now, makes me wonder why that car in the background has no tag, lol, look like hes covered his bases well.
Well actually modifying your car isn't a crime, driving it on public roadways with illegal modifications is
Now, you'll have the maintenance light on
Not necessarily. My old GMC truck has an O2 sensor before the cat, but not after.
@OddTimeManmy 96 has it after… put two oil fowlers between the sensor and the bung and all is good! There’s a video here on YT explaining how to do this. 6 years now and no code.

Customer will never know
DE! Az első alkalommal a vizsgán! Bukta!
He will know. Give him some time till he sees the video and checks the smile beneath 😁..
More speed😂
:)
Check engine light will be on with an error code relating to the cat.
he's mining the precious metal palladium
I thought that was a young Jedi?
We smell like gasoline every time we drive our vehicle now.
I thought he would just make the cut and weld to fool thieves
Check engine light is now on.
It was already on...
Remove the O2 sensor and install a spark plug anti fouler on the O2 sensor bung- and reinstall the O2 sensor. The anti fouler pulls the O2 sensor away from the center of the exhaust stream just enough to satisfy it's readings and keep the engine light off.

Engine light goes on.
Takes cutting wheel to instrument cluster.

platinum, palladium, and rhodium@noelfigueiredo9912
That one is not fuel injected, so does not rely on the O2 sensors to adjust air/fuel mixture
Remember when it was as easy as installing a "temporary" test tube?
I watched this 3 times thinking about how I would get in trouble.
Now try to pass a test for car polution.
I sure hope you disconnected the battery before welding 😅 it'll play havoc with the computer otherwise 😅😅
Nonsense
Simply not true.
@agtronicoh but it is true , I've seen it happen to three vehicles over my time as a panel beater tradesman, where people who thought that they knew better welded on the vehicle and not long after the onboard computer shut down owing to the electrical spike from welding.
@KenHughes-oz7mc been using strictly migs for 22 years, not a single time has this happened.
@KenHughes-oz7mc Ken, no disrespect at all, but the science on this just doesn’t really line up. They will say this useless for you.. but they will never say it’s expensive
It's not expensive to hollow out a cat, it's expensive to replace them and pay the fines for tampering with the emissions equipment.
no catalytic converters we just cut off and bypass
Easier to drill it. . Try finding a pipe of any kind
@dr.science9505explain drilling😮

The 80’s cars were not built for catalytic converters. Today they run better with them as they help with scavenging.
The smile that murdered your converter would be more accurate
Was in navy 73-77, off the coast of California, you could see yellow smog 100 miles at sea from California
That would've been all the grass they were smoking man.
@Paul-w3r3f Weed doesn't make a yellow cloud... it looks nothing like smog.
@dinnertimemishapyou haven’t seen smog until you’ve seen us get out of the limo 😂
@dinnertimemishapyou haven't seen how yellow my gravity bong gets
Wow, a Ukrainian who obeys laws???
INCREDIBLE!!!

Imagine someone cutting off your cats and finding the platinum is already gone.
Car now says, you have no catalytic converter.
The issue now is that it won't pass the smog test. Congratulations, you have to buy a new cathartic converter.
Not his problem , he did the work for a profit and will sell the catalytic converter material for a profit. So it is win win for him.
@Human-bf7kzGranted. The issue will be for the customer, who paid for the cathalitic converter extraction of its components and will have to buy a new catalytic converter down the line.
@Human-bf7kzand selling it for profit could make him subjrct to large fines.
@richardgrey1752what fines? I doubt he even lives in the United States.
No smog test here
Einen Kat auszuräumen ist wie einen Aschenbecher auszulecken.
Did the same here in Calif and it passed smog test.
Guess you found a lazy smog tech that doesn't do visual..
Usually in CA they will check to make sure the converter is CARB compliant. That big welded cut wouldn't fly and for sure it wouldn't pass test.
If im ever in california im REALLY lost
20 million agree.
He went in for an oil change got his catalytic converter grinded and and completely emptied it and had the decency to put a smile face on it to say he's going to make a lot of money off of the material thanks for an oil change as well good work!!!!!😂
And you earned 50 $ plus service charges 😂😂
Immer raus damit
@Sho@ShokaArkenov-y8j Ausland 😅höhö.
And yet buckets empty its all over floor
Wouldn't an inspector see that a hole has been cut out of that catalytic converter and possibly speculate that it has been tampered with?
Thats why he put eyes on it. Happy factory cat!
If you're in Colorado some kid with a mirror spends about 5 seconds looking under your car to see if there is a muffler and at least one other object in your exhaust system.
haha. inspector...
@Michael-t8u2s Don't laugh, he might be from California, lol
Getchu a new flux capacitor from o’reilys
The type of stuff the dentist does when they ask me how was my day
And...what about orange alert light on cockpit?😂
Ставят обманку место второго лямбда зонда и прошивают компютером под евро 2 стандарт.
Fuck that light
Put the rod and Smash it in the warning lamp too😂
@faebs6666snip its wires 😀
Just throw away the check engine bulb lol😅
They stick a big mirror under everytime I have to get emissions. Would have to put a bigger shield over it
damn that i need lowprofile die grinder
Its a compressed air die grinder/cutoff tool
I've heard of a car doctor but a car dentist is crazy
Good news is, anyone who steals it has just wasted their time
Hell yeah. That’s the way ya do it 👍🏼
Take the heat shield of and cut behind that, then its hidden, in UK is illegal to tamper with cats, I had Nissan elgrand had 4 cats and 2 rear ones block, so I hiden mine under the heat shields
@ashleypartington650it’s illegal here in the states too. But sometimes a necessity. 😂
@Chudsavesoh i get that just saying could been done better 😂
@Chudsaves Yeah like when you don't properly maintain your vehicle.
Удалил золотые зубы и вставил железные😂😂Поздравляю!😂😂😂В этот день уборщицы дрались кому мыть пол😂😂😂
Да ничего не вставил, без зубов оставил 😅
I deleted all emmisons on my Diesel truck. Best upgrade I’ve ever done. If it’s out of warranty delete that shit ! But I live in a free state with no smog testing
Me too 🇨🇱
its always nice someone thinks of lung cancer for everyone... gone are the good old asbestos days...
@ozchalupkova4688 its called just don’t stick your head in the exhaust ? Or run it inside ? The earth is a big place
Not big enough for your ignorance apparently...😂
@MedicinalMagicthats not how pollution works. You guys are poisoning everything you pass.
Selfish af
Check engine lights hate that trick.
Dude ain't methin around
Cool. So now you have an innoperable cat, a turbulent exhaust restriction, and a check engine light.
Way to go.
In the European Union countries you will not get a car inspection unless you live in Russia, Ukraine or Belarus, etc.
That's possible, you just need the right examiner.
@MKAY_Kohlpizdobol
Same in the US. Hollowing out your cat is illegal.
Na Ukrainie nie ma wogole przeglądów a setki tysiecy aut z ukrainy jeżdżą po UE
Это в ваших странах придумали душить двигатель? Сами придумали сами пользуйтесь
Next step, find someone to refine all the Platinum out of this mesh for you and collect the $$
You will now have 10% of the cost of a new converter, go break 9-MORE cats.....
I doubt they make out so well under the circumstances. The recycler I used to take my cats to would reference an ID book to verify the cat is OE. If they couldn't verify it, they'd treat is as a generic aftermarket cat and just give you a dollar for it. Considering this guy vacuumed up part of the cat on top of gutting it, he threw away all his value as soon as he made his first hammer strike.
Congratulations, it will now fail the emissions test.
That looked like a wasp nest but the cell walls are suuuuuuper tall.
After this, take this car to the authority and pass the technical exam. Good luck!
Or take it to that guy who can pass the smog no matter what.
There are places where this is perfectly legal. You will need to do something to get your computer to ignore the downstream O2 sensor reading though.
I have found that a piece of electrical tape on the instrument cluster is good for the cat delete 😂
Needs to be re-mapped
@kdawson020279
Black tape blends right in.
Went to look over a car my son wanted to buy... yes, the tape was almost unnoticeable.
Two spark plug non foulers. Bore the first one so the o2 sensor fits. Screw those into the second one. Install in pipe.
Makes the sensor think the exhaust is cleaner than it is. No more light on dash.
Brother, what a beautiful painting you drew. I love you
now, an eternity of Cat Efficiency code clearing, non-stop
The crime of stealing human organs, there is no difference between them, all of them are called theft😂😂😂
Smiling face it shows how happy tha engine is 👍👍👍🤣🤣🤣
Był problem i problem zniknął 👏😁👍.
Illegal and crap welding to boot.
Thanks Mom
@BarryBen-o5g Reality check: illegal meaning serious fines not to mention jail time in certain states and or countries just for possessing this type of recorded footage alone Dumbass
@BarryBen-o5g The government loves sheep. You can do whatever you want, you just have to listen to them bahh once in a while.
I bet you dont think people who willingly crossed the border without going through immigration check points to verify, record and document themselves, thus breaking Federal law is not illegal though? AmIright... 😂
@LeotheAriesLiongo to bed grandpa
Awe now why are my O2 sensors throwing codes?
You know they put that stuff in there for a reason.
customer: what sort of emissions rating is it going to have after?
"mechanic": YES
Totally going to fail the emissions test
That's gonna trip a code.. lmao!
Minions stole your platinum
Well the check engine light will stay on now
Check engine light = no pass inspection
Nevermind the check engine light
Wow. Well, at least he vacuumed!
That will create a problem with flow.
Now he will have to clear p0420 and p0430 codes every couple of weeks
Cat thieves are going to be pissed when they find out
Теперь двигатель с таким же довольным лицом будет есть масло))
now u have a racing cat
Smile! You're getting a fine for emissions tampering 😂
Customer comes into the shop with a check engine light and leaves the shop with a check engine light!😂
and now you never pass an mot again good work
Now he has a hollowed-out cat that won't pass emissions testing. Brilliant.
When the customer don't want to pay 😂
Is bro not aware that fibrous mat is asbestos? Decanning these is why I'm going to be gone before I'm 60
this will cause a check engine light for anyone wondering
Straight $10,000 ticket in Canada
And now the downstream O2 sensor gets faulty readings wich throws codes repeatedly
He just stole your catalytic converter. The inside is the valuable part.
It'll be throwing all kinds of codes now.
