    Looks amazing! Why is the smoke coming out the front rather than the top flue?

    • @HarplandProductions
      @HarplandProductions  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for watching, if I remember correctly, when I built the fire, I put a little too much wood in it, and the flames got a little bit too high, which was causing a lot of smoke to come out the front. Another way to prevent this is to put the chimney extension on, which is a couple feet higher than the small one that comes with it, it increases the draw and minimizes the smoke

    Awesome! During the cooking process, does fat drip down to the coals and oven floor? If so, how do you clean the oven after cooking meat with the Tuscan Grill?

    • @HarplandProductions
      @HarplandProductions  2 года назад +4

      The coals and oven get so hot that the oil and fat just evaporate instantly, didn't make a mess at all! I have originally planned on putting it on a small sheet pan but didn't need it!

    • @HarplandProductions
      @HarplandProductions  Год назад +1

      Hello Keith, first off, thank you very much for watching! Regarding the temp gauge, the one on the oven if for the air temp and is really only good for having a general idea of the oven temp. For making pizza you really have to have an infrared Laser Thermometer to give you an exact temp of the stone. If do not have one i would highly recommend the Mastercool one, it comes with a super heavy duty weather proof case, it's amazing (LInk Below)
      MASTERCOOL (52224-A-SP Gray Infrared Thermometer with Laser
      amzn.to/3qIhcfn
      That being said, if the temp gauge isn't working try removing the battery and putting a new one, also make sure you set it for F, i believed mine came set in Celsius (there is a small button to change it back and forth). also make sure that all of the wires are properly connected and the actual thermometer sensor, in the middle back is clean, etc.

    • @HarplandProductions
      @HarplandProductions  2 года назад +1

      Hello D C, the spec sheet shows, from the bottom of the oven to the stone floor at 8.9 inches, I would rounded up to 9 inches to take into account the rubber feet at the bottom! If you’re going to put the dome on a table or stand do you want to make sure that the stone level is at least 48 inches high, so you’ll need to have a table or stand at least 39 inches high! cdn.accentuate.io/5226204627081/13495284007049/Dome-Spec-Sheet---UL---210526-v1622022348071.pdf

    You mentioned great heat retention at the end of this video and it had me wondering about the Gozney Dome some more. If it usually takes about 45 minutes to heat up from ambient temperature for say a pizza night, does it take significantly less time the next morning for a brunch to heat up? Has this been tested at all? Is there a tight fitting door to help? Is it even worth it? Thanks so much. I find your videos very helpful and enjoyable to watch. Much appreciated.

    • @HarplandProductions
      @HarplandProductions  2 года назад +2

      Thank you so much for watching, I greatly appreciate it. Regarding heat retention, compared to other metal ovens it does do a good job of retaining heat and yes, with the door it would help, but it typically only remains hot for maybe 3 to 6 hours so by the next day it’s not gonna retain any heat to do that you’d have to have a stone oven!

    Thanks for the demo but it’s an easy pass. Too much work for little reward. It doesn’t give you the ability to cook the steak exceptionally well like your basic charcoal kettle does. And if you wanted to cook over live fire you can get a Santa Maria style attachment for a Weber or PK and even that would allow more fine tune adjustment of the cooking process.

      Fair enough! I agree for guys like us having all of the different BBQ toys i tend to use what's best for each type of food, smoker for ribs and brisket, Grill and smoker for steak, and my Dome for mainly Pizza but the Dome is a great option if you only have one and you want the option to make great pizza and still be able to make wood fired steak, bread, etc.
