Justin, you have the perfect temperament/patience. And I'm sure your children are picking up on it and will model after you. Best wishes for you for your surgery.
Just realized Lilly is really growing. I really like her attitude. I wish Mr Clueless BROWN would get involved a little more with the chores. He always seems to eating his whatever outside(maybe thats how he gets away from doing chores. LOL
Justin so often the edits kinda glamorize farm life. You keeping a schedule, really puts the WORK in working farm in perspective. Thankful for you and your resources. :)
I ran multiple pumping stations with emergency generators from Cummins. We had automatically controlled monthly test runs on many of the units to exercise them. Put a clip board and a pen or pencil by the generator and keep track of your generator hours. Once a month or whenever you lose power, check out the hour meter and record the hours ran. Remember the first rule of complicated operations- if you didn't record it, it didn't happen. Keep maintenance logs, they can save thousands of dollars in service calls and repairs. Or you young guys can record things on your phone. As long as you don't lose your phone once a year by dropping it into places that you can't retrieve it from. Which I did more times than I want to admit.🤬
Between the dog yapping and the tractor running I am amazing they came up there at all. Every time it got close one of the kids moved and scared them. Gotta love sheep
Hi Justin, little tip for good running of your ''Genny'' always keep it's fuel tank as full as you can, if you leave space in the tank after it has been running you will get condensation in top of the tank, this will give you issues in the freezing winter with the possibility of water forming in your fuel. As for you running it regularly, run it for one hour on the first day of each month, put a prompt on your computer . . #haveasafeday
Lilly is such a good helper, you may not realize it but her confidence level will be thru the roof. And her Papa will always have her back, Donald learned that lesson.
I have my Dad's hose Nozzle from the 1960's. It works perfectly! However the ones I buy every year with all the bright fancy colors and nozzle modes are great. But they always break easily and send me a trotting back to the big box Lowe's store for more. Wonder if that's intentional??? 🤣🤣🙏😊❤
I've noticed you really have to pull hard on the luchadore's cage when moving it. Could contribute to your back injury. Would a different wheel system (larger) not help?
Thank you Cummins! I didn’t know you made backup generators. I wish I lived in NC. I put in to get my home evaluated for a backup generator too. We’re in the country & lose power every other month. Thanks Justin as always for your videos that make my day complete. I love watching your family. I watched some of your older videos. Wow your sweetie kids have grown so much!
I got a Generac 17KW, natural gas, whole house generator 10 years ago - best money I've ever spent! Congrats on your giant acquisition...such peace of mind in today's 'ifffy' grid utility suppliers, with the extreme weather conditions in ARkansas.
Congratulations on your Awesome Generator!!! And also Congratulations on naming your new baby calf Polly♡♡♡ She's Adorable ♡♡♡ We're Praying everything goes Great with your surgery ♡♡♡ GOD BLESS EVERYONE ♡♡♡ Have A Beautiful Blessed Peaceful Evening ♡♡♡ GOD IS SO GOOD♡♡♡
you would not believe the amount of kitchen knifes and peelers that landed in my grandmas compost 🤣 every year when i helped grandpa open the compost and all the surprises we would find was like easter in november
A mobile stanchion makes sense to me. You have your water hooked up anyway... put a nozzle on the hose to clean off any mess... any compost futures can be shoveled right where you want them to be. That is 2 less chores a day... bringing them in and taking them back out. You can always build a more sturdy one later if you find it works... like some metal fencing welded together some how if you only knew a welder... hahaha. You could put a hitch on it... throw your watering system and hoses in it and move it all at once simplifying the whole process. It would mean a ramp... but ramps are not hard.
The shakey soap is good on gardens andcfeild because it breaks down the natural oils in dirt that wont let water be soaked down in dirt and doesnt sit on top of dirt
Where the bent water pipe comes up, since you have to dig it up, would you be able to put in multiple hose bibs? Seems like a high use area that could use more access points.
Teddy needs to bark behind them He bark and they turned around like they are listing to the dog It worked when teddy didnt bark Hes trying to do his job herding them ;) Try him tied up behind the sheep when you can
Back up generators are just smart. Granted they’re pricey for most folks but I’ve been saving myself to get one installed. My old man got one a few years back and it’s definitely come in handy.
its gonna cost mine $8,000 for a GL11,000 11,000watts kubota generatorplus my kubota dealer gives $900 rebate and 4 year warranty because cat 10,000 watts they wanted $36,900 and 90 day warranty
I’ve been thinking about a portable milking trailer for some time. You can buy a small utility trailer to pull behind sally build a stantion on it. Maybe use some of that plastic roofing you use for the chickens for a roof over it. Maybe a hinged ramp that you can fold up when you move it. Just an ider
You seem to have fairly "reliable" power for being rural, Justin. It's never convenient, so I'm super-glad you were able to get the generator. Did Aaron give you a ballpark for the number of years of service that you could expect for the generator?
One entry submitted. I've been wanting and more importantly Needing a portable genset for years. And from working on Onan portable genset in the military, I know that they are a great unit.
You hit the jackpot with that there 'Garden Guy' feller!! I subscribed to his channel. He's a good one for you when you need to fill in some gaps getting things covered. Thanks for the content. Keep up the good work. בס״ד
I know it works for you , but that noise! I would do everything I could to avoid having that near my house. But then, I have always hated loud noises, and I am not sure of what the alternative might be. I would hunt the world to find one though!
Currently saving for a property and this has me sold on investing in a generator... I would give them my business but sadly I don't think they do service in Maryland
Just outta curiosity can u put up a pic of a younger Boots & one of Jonah? Watchin him learn about the new generator reminded me SO VERY MUCH of your dad's grin & bright eyes!
What if it were some trees? Then would three trees break in three places, or would just one tree break three times? If it did, then would that mean then that, three trees break in three threes? Also, what if it were instead of trees, three bees? Would then, that mean, that, three bees break three trees, in three bees? That could be just terrible. Especially if it happened while you were drinking tea.
Mr Rhodes RAIN CATCH SYSTEM OR MOBILE would not this be easier put your own twist on it 2 or 3 of them low to ground 300 gallon last day or two at a time or the rain or creek
you should let it run but all that should be automated - you do want to use it the minimum - with proper care it will last forever with minimal maintenance - if you go solar and batteries you can say goodbye to the nasty diesel or just keep it as an exotic liability - the world has already moved on - everything is going electric - even backhoes definitely not the sustainable choice but reliable and that does count for a lot
make sure you have proper lightning protection, think about road building to facilitate woodlot management and the pigs - if you give them tons of space it will work but i would do the footwork first - making roads and 15 more acres of fields, rock removal, plowing, cow manure and compost, cover crops, pollinator strips, native strips. the hogs will do much better with lower maintenance in a mixed environment - think about some goats too. plant 5 apples trees in the middle of each paddock/field mix in a few nut trees - do a grape arbor #formulas
@@theJustinRhodesShow and it's got over a hundred and one different uses. How do I know I used to be a Shaklee Distributor and that was one of my best sale items.
At 3:46, Lilly's hair is gorgeous! High Five Lilly!!!
Justin, you have the perfect temperament/patience. And I'm sure your children are picking up on it and will model after you. Best wishes for you for your surgery.
19:35 just look at Jonah listening and learning ---so beyond what most young men his age would be doing. He's absorbing everything, it appears.
Just realized Lilly is really growing. I really like her attitude. I wish Mr Clueless BROWN would get involved a little more with the chores. He always seems to eating his whatever outside(maybe thats how he gets away from doing chores. LOL

Congrats on the generator Justin.....really liked the episode with Joel.
You and Jonah need walkie talkies to communicate across the farm! LOL
I've noticed you really have to pull hard on the luchadore's cage when moving it. Could contribute to your back injury. Would a different wheel system (larger) not help?
G ma saves the day yet again ! She knows she saw that in the pig bowl and she cooks dinner ! I want her to be my G Ma 😍😂

Loading the sheep- try turning off the tractor until they are in.
Lily is a fantastic helper and resource!
We had one installed last year, the best thing we did. Totally automatic, love it!

Precious calf. Just want to hug her.
I know that is a load off your mind with the generator in place. Congrats!! I've wondered about solar powered generators. Love the name Polly!
The shakey soap is good on gardens andcfeild because it breaks down the natural oils in dirt that wont let water be soaked down in dirt and doesnt sit on top of dirt
A big thumbs up 👍🏾 to you and Cummings for a great and wonderful partnership.
Loved the zooms on the butts of the eletrician hahahaha
Maybe you should consider asking Jonah to build the frame for the mineral containers. He seems to enjoy woodworking.
Your channel is really inspiring and gives us something to work towards. Thank you!

I want to visit your farm so much! We don't even live that far!!!!♥️ East Tennessee
I bet a Harvest Host harvesthosts.com/ would love to have you on their providers - but you probably don't want to give up your location in NC.
polly is so beautiful
Grandmas are in the know!

It worked when teddy didnt bark
Hes trying to do his job herding them ;)

Great improvements Justin. Blessings! 👍👍👍💯💯💯
The swedish homestead built a super neat mobile milking station! Definitely filing that one away for when we have cows
Definitely been checking that out.
Happy for you guys! Looks awesome
That dinner looked so good !
that generator is awesome I have been wanting a back up generator setup like that for a while now.
Grandma is a very good detective 😀
Happy to know I'm not the only one who misplaces things left and right with 4 kiddos and extra hands everywhere🤣
Ain't that the God's honest truth. My bunch likes to plant tools in the yard hoping they'll grow
Awesome video and God bless the family

I entered the drawing!
I want to think about that Tesla Powerwall though.
No moving parts and uses no fuel.
Used diesel generators are very reasonable. $4,000 for 30KW or so is common. Had and sold a few of them

Keep an eye on those block heaters. They burn up about every 6 months to a year
I gotta ask, how did grandma know it was in the pig bucket. Hummmmm
Can't decide if I like this vid. Justin losing stuff stresses me out as much as it does when I cant find things!
Very cool - good job!
I can't believe you named the Cow Polly. My family calls me Polly my whole life. 💜😁
Thank you for sharing ❤️💗❤️
We love our generator....
SENDING A BRIGHT WHITE LIGHT OF LOVE TO SURROUND THE UNIVERSE 🤗💞💖🤗 AND EVERYONE 🤗❣️❣️🤗💞💖🤗
With the sheep, maybe try holding a section of netting behind them. I watch Greg Judy sort bulls with a line of poly.
I love Grandma. Is the soap a concentrated like Dawn or is it a thinner type? I just couldn’t imagine putting that much dawn in those 50 ga tubs.
That's Awesome.
You seem to have fairly "reliable" power for being rural, Justin. It's never convenient, so I'm super-glad you were able to get the generator. Did Aaron give you a ballpark for the number of years of service that you could expect for the generator?
I love that Joelene was a contender!

Do you have a temp monitoring system for your refers and freezers? All laboratories and other critical coolers have alert systems.
Keep Polly, Rhodes house starts making cheese
Lillie, your hair looks so nice today :)
Yeah Cummins!
Mom's know everything!! Lol
I entered for the giveaway, yay!!!!!
Good luck!

For sure. Glad to say I've known him since he was like 14.
What a nice giveaway! I so entered.
Good luck!

If you're looking for a mobile milking solution, might be worth looking into Swedish Homestead's solution. IIRC he built a mobile milker.
For sure.
Did you have to get your refrigerator fixed again? I had a refrigerator just like yours and it would need repair every time there was a power outage!
Putting in the effort to beef that faucet up any way you can is going to be worth it since you'll have it dug up anyhow.
sleepy Lilly is adorable
Currently saving for a property and this has me sold on investing in a generator... I would give them my business but sadly I don't think they do service in Maryland
Have you looked? They are nation wide.
If you have a moving stantion, wouldn't you have to carry the milk back?
Yes.
Or use Sally!
This is the first time ive ever been the first to comment on one of your vids.. keep up the amazing work
Now have plenty of fuel for maybe months.
Hey Justin how do you homeschooling your kids?
quick question about farm finances, are you a registered business? How do you operate as a family farm or a business?
We're an LLC. Don't sell a single farm product, save "edutainment"
Have you considered solar panels?
Just outta curiosity can u put up a pic of a younger Boots & one of Jonah? Watchin him learn about the new generator reminded me SO VERY MUCH of your dad's grin & bright eyes!
The story of Arun? Sorry if his name is spelt wrong.
Haha @1:36 is it just me or is it not possible to open the 1 upper cabinet door to the right of your kitchen sink?
💖
HOW FAR ARE Y'ALL FROM SEVIER COUNTY TENNESSEE??
The wife would be upset if you fed that ring to the pigs.
I wonder how often Justin talks to himself out loud when there is no camera on, just out of habit lol.
Never really. This is all for you.
Stuff always breaks in threes.
What if it were some trees? Then would three trees break in three places, or would just one tree break three times? If it did, then would that mean then that, three trees break in three threes? a mobile station, you will need a roof in the case of showers
💪👍👏
Knew you have to get Becky. Sheep whisper
Hi
That runs pretty quiet.
Mr Rhodes RAIN CATCH SYSTEM OR MOBILE would not this be easier put your own twist on it 2 or 3 of them low to ground 300 gallon last day or two at a time or the rain or creek
BETTER STORE A BUNCH OF FUEL!!!!
im confused why he keeps calling it a Cummins generator instead of an Onan 🤔

You said Shaklee so I have a cup to 50 gallons of water
1/2 cup per 50 gallons. But it has to be Classic Basic H.
