The camera of Google Pixel 5 looked like it was slightly darker and that of the iPhone 12 mini looked slightly brighter. Which one was more leaning to the reality of lighting and color?
Appreciate the comparison. Been debating on mini as I too have the 11 pro. I think I'll hold on to the 11 pro...Would it be considered a downgrade if I went with mini?
It's amazing how the pixel could keep up with other flagships even with an inferior and much older sensor. If pixel used a new sensor like the 1/1.43" IMX 689, it'd blow every other smartphones out of the water. I'd any day choose the iPhone phone for videos and pixel for photos, period.
I agree, I love pixels! But maybe the reason they continue using older cameras is because their software has been so fine tuned to older ones and maybe their experiments w/new sensors have been on par to the rest of the comp. So why spend more on new sensors when software tech hasn't reached the full ability to use it 🤔
@@TheJrincon10 Yeah right. That's the only possible explanation behind why they're still using an older sensor. But the problem is, videos are still heavily dependent on the camera sensor rather than the post processing, especially in low-light. Other OEMs like Apple, Samsung and OnePlus have already switched to bigger sensors. And moreover, bigger the sensor and aperture, faster the shutter speed and lesser the noise. If OnePlus can do it, then why can't Google? Hopefully waiting for them to do that in this year's pixel flagship.
I've had some bad experience with the Pixel and sport videos, especially in bad light conditions. Does someone have any experiences in this settings with the iPhone?
Hi Ben. I’m beginning my quest for an iPhone upgrade. I currently use 7+. I am having a difficult time letting go of this phone. But slowly it’s losing a lot of functions. I post a lot to Instagram and use it a lot for watching videos and using word documents. I need a lot of storage. People think my phone is enormous, but it’s really the case. Speaking of cases, I can’t find one that holds up. This is my 3rd LIFEPROOF since I’ve owned the phone. I do take videos, but I’m not looking for a professional camera. I need a phone to last a long time. I’ve never cracked this screen and am super careful. Price is not an option, as a phone purchase is not every few years. What do you suggest? I’ll be 50 this year. I’m not technically savvy. Thanks for posting these videos.
Good request, I have the SE 2 so I might consider that comparison. Since the SE 2 is using the iphone 8 sensor, I think you'd notice some awesome improvements, especially with that ultra wide lens 👌
Picking the iphone in the jogging front cam scene just because it has 4k is kinda a stretch when the video quality of the Pixel looks better. I donnnn knoooo... But the rear cam of the iphone for video is amazing.
It doesn't take 3.5 mins coz it has a slower processor than the iPhone, it called the "Astro-Photography" mode and it takes 3.5 mins to gather up the necessary light and details coz it has the Pixel 2's old sensor. If Pixel comes with a better sensor and their AMAZING software next year (which I'm sure they will coz this sensor is like 4yrs old), then there'll be no phone which can compare to its level of photography.
Hey ben i wanna ask u do u think apple will push a update for 11 pro and pro max for nightmode on ultrawide And do u think 11 pro and 11 pro max will get support for apple pro raw Please do reply
The 4 minute length of a night mode shot has nothing to do with the processor. That is the astrophotography mode which is a feature the Pixels have when on a tripod in a dark setting.
Pixel has better contrast accuracy but the srgb color space is making it look bad compared to the p3 colors of the iphone shots. Especially the blues in the sky and the green in plants and the guy's sweater.
@@jakobbentzen856 So if i was like going on holiday and wanted to use it constantly for photographs and stuff it would run out quick you think? Do you take a power brick out with you - that's the kinda solution I'm thinking about.
I've bought Pixel 4a 5G with the same processor, camera, bigger screen and better speaker quality for 490 usd. I'm totally do not understand people who buying Pixel 5.
If Halide is able to magically bring ProRaw processing to their app via witchcraft to the iPhone 12 mini, it maybe would of looked more like the pixel in the photos, sharpness is way to high.
is iphone 12 have face beautification now ? i notice people have less freckle, moles, wrickle, eye bags, dark circles, face shadows on selfies its like iphone camera photoshop peoples face now wtf ? did you guys notice that too ?
The sad thing is that the iPhone 12 Mini is almost certainly the better phone in all the important ways. But then Google comes in and does all the unimportant things better than the iPhone. Then you have to choose, practicality or quirkiness. It's too bad you couldn't just take the best parts of both and put them together and ditch the worst parts of both.
practicability vs quickness ? Isnt the iPhone the far superior device in terms of speed/power? For me, the google is superior in taking pictures. But thats it or not ? Whats your point? Looping for "small smartphones" for my girlfriend and it got to be, between these to or any phone which is not above 70mm brightness.

It’s my brothers birthday tomorrow and I got him the 12 mini. Thanks for helping
The iPhone is a bit too bright sometimes. I’d probably use raw photos and edit them. Pity it won’t have pro raw for night scenes
Great video as always! Can we expect to see a video comparison with the Xiaomi Mi 10T pro?
Watching random reviews of pixel 5 and I see my home town... Nice
It seems like Pixel has some hidden magic with its cameras

Yeah it's pretty insane, especially in low light. I have the first Pixel (2015) and it's absolutely killing newer Samsung's (up to S10) xD
