Very honest review I just purchased a Tiger 1050 recently, fully agree feels top heavy moving the bike around the garage, but once under away that top heavy feel melts away. As for the gear box yes it can feel clunky, the remedy for this is only use the clutch to get it into first and second, on the up shift for third to sixth it's no clutch at all, just unload the engine and click it up just like a quick shifter and it is as smooth as butter. Going down the gears the clutch comes into play again. I adore this bike, I'm getting on in years and I didn't want to kid myself I needed a Adventure bike like e.g. GS etc who can afford the hefty price tag anyway I'm not going off road, although I have ridden it on plenty of dirt tracks in my local area as long as you moderate your speed it's fine. I just want a bike that could eat up the Ks on the highway and when it came to the twists have a bit of bit of fun. That basically sums up this bike, it's a lot of fun and that triple motor sounds glorious, it has plenty of torque you can leave it in sixth and punt it around, it doesn't have stupid amounts of HP to wear you out like a lot of modern motorcycles . Highly recommend it to anyone who wants a bike that can put a smile on you face. P.S. would not recommend this bike for commuting, it's great for highway and back road sports adventure riding.
Mega bikes on my 3rd 1050 tiger now, will happily let you chuck it around corners, plenty of power. Yeah the gearboxes arent the smoothest although the one ive got now is pretty smooth compared to my previous ones, however these bikes have that much torque you dont really need to go down the gears to much.
'Had a power band put on it '... where do you get these power bands 😂😂. I've got one of these 1050s and yes they go like stink but are a bit lacking in character I think. May have to change for something Italian...
If you ever fit a centre stand to one of these take care not to snap the spring retaining post in the frame. It's a poor design and just a few mm across. Once snapped, you can't get it out because the sump is in the way. Something to check when buying one too. As for the bike itself, I've had a few. Liked them but did find them top-heavy.
Had an 09 from new, 38.000 mls. In three years a never put a spanner on it, apart from oil & fiter changes chain lube a the odd adjustments “I think about 3” a one fork seal. I did replace both forks seals, but had to go, because for me she was a little top heavy. Great bike though. Far to many gimmicks on new bike for me.

That’s a lot of torque 😂
haha 721 lbs of torque i dont even think my V8 RS6 had that lol. and i am sure these earlier models had 114 BHP

@@bm7760 ah thanks for the info mate, much appreciated 👍
Everyone says they’re heavy. Try a 955. That’s heavy. Just gone for a 1050 SE from an 03 955 and it’s night and day difference in weight.

They are very good bikes, completely agree about all the gimmicks on the newer models now 👍
