The articulation is the standout here. If you have him in a neutral pose and look at him too long, the body just looks weird. The dynamic poses look amazing! Thanks for the review bro :)

I might end up holding off on this figure for a while. Not in a rush to get this Kong and if we're lucky, they might even release an updated version of him later down the line so might as well hold off.
Wonder if they rerelease him if he will be more film accurate
@@godzillakong6597 Well Hiya has been doing well enough with giving us more accurate and improved figures after their previous releases so it's a possibility. Just don't hold your breath for it.

I definitely prefer how this figure scales with the other figures as opposed to their previous Kong. Hopefully if they ever do another version of Kong 2021 they make it in this exact same scale as the 2017 one here.
I really hope that the reason why Hiya didn't release their GxK kong yet is because they are adding butterfly and this kong's neck joint to it. I also hope that they will use this Roaring face instead of the ugly GvK roarin face

It's great. I just bought it from Kowkis yesterday and it was shipped today.
I think it’s awesome love the new articulation engineering they did for his butterfly joints for is arms, and hopping they do a rerelease/upgrade for the gvk Kongs articulation. Then some day they would do an update/rerelease articulation on Godzilla’s articulation including on his repaints as well with more range of movement on his neck and including so new accessorie hands too

Oh man I can’t wait to get my hands on this because I made a custom axe for my playmates Gxk kong and can’t wait how good it’s gonna look with the new and improved hiya kong!
This figure looks dope, just needs a stoic/calm headsculpt and he's golden. Can't wait for him to drop in BBTS later on this year.

Really cool figure and review! Can't wait for mine to arrive. However, I somehow feel this is based more on adult Kong's proportions from Gvk and GxK with the Skull island colors, I I've only watched that movie twice, last time being a year ago tbf, but I remember him being build more like a lanky teenager, longer arms and not this bulky(I think leaner is the word?)
I love the articulation and it makes me wish Hiya could make some Planet of the Apes figures
They did make planet of the apes figure, the paint apps were rough but they’re by far the best chimp figures out there.
I think this is a decent gorilla figure, but this isn’t 2017 Kong.

feel like this kongs body is too round compared to the skull island model, his face seems off although better than gvk version, the articulation certainly is better than the gvk one. hope they listen to our criticism and do a re-release/upgrade for this one and gvk

Not a bad figure, it just doesn’t feel like the Kong from Kong: Skull Island. If anything, it reminds me more of the 1976 King Kong. Mezco’s King Kong of Skull Island figure feels almost closer to the one from Kong: Skull Island than this one. I might get this figure, but I’m sure Hiya might do a 2.0 version that’ll be more accurate so we’ll see.
I worry about the fingers being flexible may crack over time, but hey very nice monke
2017 Kong is my favorite so it pains me to say this, but this is a pass for me. Maybe for 30 bucks I would grab it as a gorilla figure to go with my hiya POTA figures. But this isn’t close enough for me to spend the 50-60 bucks. Something is off besides the torso, I think paint apps, shoulder build,
I think overall this was rushed and I’m not paying import prices on a rushed figure that doesn’t actually represent 2017 Kong.

Not a fan it doesn't look accurate. The face, the shoulders and he looks too round. Hope they announce Beast glove Kong soon

Same, not really a fan sonce it isnt that film accurate enough, so im going to wait for a remake of gvk or a gxk version, with beast glove or not since in the movie his fur is a bit longer than in gvk.
At this point I'm doubting if we'll ever get a screen accurate Kong, but I still vastly prefer this figure to the GvK Hiya Kong which was both not screen accurate and had really bad articulation.
Which one would you recommend more? Kong 2021 or Kong 2017?
