      @@olleharstedt3750 Google for "Hoffman - The cave sessions". It was available back in 2021, not sure if there's reasonable sellers out there. Good luck!

    Really stylish and fine demo with great soundtrack. Unbelievable it is only 64kb. Is amiga already able to use compressed MP3 samples or is this still PCM 8bit? Highly enjoyable!

    • @jsrodman
      @jsrodman 6 лет назад

      The Amiga 500 definitely doesn't ship with mp3 decode utilities in the base OS or in rom routines. it's a little too old for that.
      There's no reason you can't put mp3 decode software in your executable, though it will of course eat into your 64kb size. A simpler compression format almost certainly would save overall on storage.
      Given that the original release required 1MB of chip, it seems pretty certain that sound clip decompression or procedural sounds figure in here somewhere.

      Ah, you can find more about the sound approaches here: files.scene.org/view/parties/2015/revision15/music_exeoldskool/hoffman_generator.zip and here : www.pouet.net/prod.php?post=767707
