In this video we will discuss all important information about Alexander the great and his invasion on India which is known as battle of Hydaspes in 326 B.C . Alexander the Great is arguably the greatest military leader in history. By never loosing a battle, by conquering nearly the known world in twelve years, and by spreading his influence on the known world, Alexander was the first person to receive the title “ The Great.”
Alexander had conquered Asia Minor along with Iran and Iraq. He then marched into northwest India from Iran.

Alexander defeated by porusottam (porus) Here starts my argument.
How it was possible for Alexander and his army to cross the mighty River Hydaspes in moonsoon season which mostly remains at high altitude?
How quickly Alexander’s Army recover their positions for an attack against Porus’ Army who was already at standby mode?
Alexander monitored the movement of Raja Porus for atleast 3 months. This indicates that was kind of hesitation from his end.
Even if we assume for a while, there was no physical battle, it would be due to resilience and character of Raja Porus.
If Alexander (according to Greek and English Historians) won the battle, how he pardoned Porus?? If you read the live events of Alexander, he executed his faithfuls Philotas and Coenus, who were generals of his own Army. Alexander didn't spared his enemies the time he conquered the city of Jamshid in Persia.
Defeat of Raja Porus would have encouraged Alexander to further move in Eastern parts of Ancient India.
Resistance of Raja Porus, weather and tiredness of Alexander’s Army were key factors they moved towards South of Punjab. They faced heavy resistance from Malli Tribe of Multan. Alexander’s back bone injured with poisonous arrow that might became cause of his death later.
As there were only Greek historians therefore they probably did big favor to Alexander over Raja Porus. I honestly do not keep any grudge but during those times there was no trend of writing history in Ancient India therefore Raja Porus despite his bravery went unnoticed. Raja Porus who is true son of soil and defended his homeland still does not get much credit of his resistance and bravery against Alexander.
He was defeated by porus and ambhi by gorilla war and cutting food chain. He finally surrendered and porus lett him go to Greece. False story was depicted by his generals that HD defeated porus..and kindly returned him his kingdom...

@@Venom11591 , it was beyond the boundaries of kingdoms otaxilla and ambhi.... historians just glorify the foreign invaders.... the writer of above post has elaborated all facts.... if he had won the war with porus ,why he returned some part of it to porus ...he wasnt a generous king .. he has already slaughter many of his betrayed officef Nd even relatives . If he won porous why he didnt attzck other indian kingdoms and returned to his empire by appointing selucus nicator as administrator ? Did he found porus so invincible .??? The fact ambhi and porus made a plan to sandwith sikander in a george between himalayn rNges and play gorilla war and curt his food chai. Alexander and his army wasnt accustumed for such war and hence they surrendered ... historians just wrote opposite story...

Battle of hydaspes was one of the costliest and hardest battles of Alexander....But Alexander still managed to get Victorious in the battle....
_Let's Talk about the aftermath of the battle_
Alexander created a city name 'Bucephala' in India because his horse was mortally wounded in the battle of hydaspes
Alexander appointed Peithon as a satrap of the part which Alexander conquered and then Peithon appointed Eudemus As a satrap too....There were then 4 satraps ruling the Indian part which Alexander conquered,....and those 4 were Peithon, Eudemus, Porus and Aambhi (Aambhi was the brother of Purushottam who invited Alexander to invade India)💀
And later in around 317 or 316 BC Porus got assassinated by Eudemus 💀
Then Peithon left India And gave all his powers to Eudemus. But then Chandragupta maurya defeated Eudemus and took all his land and this is how he became the first king of India
And in 306 BC, Seleucus Nicator, one of the finest general of Alexander, and the most powerful Greek of that timee, invaded India to take back all the land which Alexander won. but he lost the seleucid-mauryan war and couldn't take back the land....

There is difference of opinion regarding who won the battle of hydaspas.
Chinese historians and Russian historians have mentioned that porus won or it was a draw.
Greek historians mentioned that Alexander won.
Further the reasons why Alexander did not invade further into india is also not digestible
Chinese historian ka naam ya book ka naam batane ka to daam nhi aur kuch bhi bol rahe ho. Sirf bol diya Chinese historian to ho gaya. Agar sach hai to jara naam to batao warna kaise aise hi maan le.

Sikandar is not a Indian name actually it is Persian name of Alexander. When Alexander conquered Persia, the Persians called him Sikandar, meaning "defender" or "warrior". It is a variant of Iskandar.
