  • Construction Training Fund (CTF) is providing opportunities for a lot of people to make their career in the building and construction industry, including project managers and site supervisors like Reece Martin. Reece has had a lot of fulfilment out of his job as a project manager and site supervisor and he really enjoys getting to interact face-to-face with clients and utilising his organisational skills to make everything run smoothly.
    The Apprenticeship and Traineeship Grant for Employers has lead to opportunities to be trained as a building site supervisor worker in the construction industry.
    This job could be right for you if you:
    - Have good knowledge and understanding of technologies and building techniques
    - Have good analytical and critical thinking skills, maths skills and problem-solving skills
    - Have excellent time-management and organisational skills
    - Take a careful, thorough approach to work including a high level of safety awareness
    There are a lot of great opportunities at the moment for building site supervisors within construction jobs. A typical working day may involve a variety of different tasks.
    On the job you will often be:
    - monitoring progress to ensure that all work is being completed on time
    - motivating the team to drive performance
    - liaising with sponsors, clients, suppliers, subcontractors and stakeholders
    - ensuring all safety standards and guidelines are followed and maintained
    - being accountable for safety leadership and compliance with legislation
    - working with other professionals including engineers, architects, team supervisors and suppliers
