@@kimifw58 A lot of people's perception of the 80s is getting distorted by vaporwave. While there were 80s games that had some serious tunes. The level of sophistication was often extremely limited. I think many people are conflating 90s stuff with the 80s. 90s PC games (especially CD era games and post-1995 games) were fully capable of this level of music, ditto for consoles like N64 and playstation. But try this on an NES or even SNES and you won't even come close. Like I said, the NES and SNES were capable of serious tunes, but they had serious limitations. The C64 in the 80s also had some awesome demoscene stuff, but most of the games had simple tunes and were even silent in-game despite having a kickass opening theme. Cyberdyne warrior and Netherworld (covered by the AVGN) had incredible title themes, but when you played the game, they had simple sound effects but no music. Games that did have music playing on them were often loops and very simple, like Short Circuit for C64 (based on the movie of the same name) had a short version of the Short Circuit theme but it looped endlessly. There was no variation. The 80s laid the technological framework for many technologies to come, but people often completely forget the limitations of the systems. Arcade games were capable of more stuff, but that's because they were dedicated units doing exactly ONE thing, and were very expensive even compared to regular home computers of the time. Even then, most arcade games of the 80s didn't have this level of music in them. The 1989 end theme of Final Fight will forever remain in my heart and my mind until I die, but even it isn't 21st century vaporwave capable.
@@Gia_Marie You're confusing synth with chiptunes. The 8-bit games of the era HAD to use that music because they were not capable of anything else. Until CD games became a thing in the 90s the way they had to encode music in those games could not come close to this level of fidelity. Don't get me wrong, there were many chiptunes from the NES and even PC games (soundblaster and adlib cards only. Not that shrill PC speaker!) that were amazing. The PC stuff with the soundblaster capable music was charming and great in its own right... but again, nothing like this. Look up Quest for Glory 4 if you want authentic soundblaster music and see what it was really like. Vaporwave is what the 80s COULD have been if they had the technology.
@@Hotshotter3000 Nope not confusing anything. I'm well aware of "chiptune" aka o 8-bit music, the "synth"esized electronic music made using the programmable sound generator. I went to the arcades quite often in the 80's and yes synthesized music was used in many 80's games. Nevertheless, my ears, my opinion.
Lord Almighty, this is the best thing I’ve heard for a very long time, keep going dude, this is actually such a banger, I’ve listen to the first 10 seconds, and I already love it, I’m a big fan of metal, and senth wave, and this is just the ultimate clash in my brain, sorry for the run-on sentence, I’m excited.
This is amazing. During my time in high school I discovered some interesting things about myself..including what would lead to me getting into my first relationship, which was awkward seeing as it was with another guy and I had grown up very different fro that thinking. Through that though this song kept coming up and was sort of our song. It kind of was a comfort because I was so unsure but I did one thing...I was happy, and past that nothing else really mattered in the grand scheme of shit Now a days we're not a thing but still pretty good friends. He's moved on to better relationships and I've become more into myself without having to worry about sacrificing who I am in any regards. I also got into Synth-wave, especially dark-synth, so when I saw this I clicked immediately. It is so reminiscent of the feeling of the original but really adds to it in it's own way. Long winded BS aside, great work on this it sounds enough like to original to remind me, yet is new enough to allow me to enjoy it almost like new. I guess alos thanks for giving me a chance to reflect on good times, life been a downer lately and it's a good feeling to remember it hasn't always been like this.

Sounds like a lone survivor walking aimlessly after the fifth corporate war on Venus
loving that description!
Sounds like something out of a 1980s Soviet film. This is incredible!
This sounds like it was ripped right out of a Tron movie soundtrack. I love it!
I could easily envision hearing this on some boss level 80's game. Well done combo. Remake is blended on all the right notes.
Ah, yes. Boss themes: the most ballad-like of video game songs. Also, I don't think video games in the '80s could sound like this.
@@kimifw58 well I played a few back then that came pretty close. Synth was big in 8bit games of the 80s.
