Great video and some great catches on the fly. I use to float the Elk River when I was a kid, it does get low in the summer but still a beautiful little river.

Question, since you're there by yourself, did you use a shuttle service to get back up to your start point?

Hello Pete! My wife followed me she was my shuttle 😃 Dropped her car at the take out and rode with me to the launch point. She then drove my car back to hers. Lots of shuttle services in that area.

@@petekeener8943Just Google search “outfitters near noel missouri” I'm sure many of them run shuttles.

What'd you use to mount the base plate for the packout? Been thinking about doing this to mine but cant decide the best way to do it where it'll be secure and water tight.

Thanks for your question. I used a 3/4-Inch expansion nut that excepts a 1/4 thread. So basically marked my holes and drilled the 3/4 holes placed the expansion nuts in the holes and then laid down the base plate. Then used 1/4 SS button top screws, not sure the length. Once you start tightening down those bolts the rubber expands and creates seal on the hole. I added sealant around the screw. seems to be good. I'm sure the rubber on the expansion nut could wear out over time. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! I float the elk every year on my 9.5ft and take it out on the lake, so space is limited and self-containment is a must. I also like the fact that I can lock my packout with all my stuff in it if i need to.@@CASTAFLYAdventures
