  • In this ibanez guitar comparison we compare the Ibanez j.custom RG8570Z-CRA with the Ibanez RG1XXV from the premium line. The ibanez j.custom guitar is produced in Japan and the premium Ibanez guitar is produced in Indonesia.
    The guitar comparison is very fair because both guitars are loaded with DiMarzio pickups and the ibanez edge zero tremolo.
    The green ibanez j.custom RG8570 is around 2900€ and the pink 25th anniversary RG1XXV is around 1000€. What´s the real difference between the japanese and the indonesian ibanez guitar? I made a short sound comparison and show all the details. Let´s compare the j.custom vs premium!

    I have a J. Custom, a Prestige and a Premium. Between J. Custom and Premium huge differences on hardware, but most of all the feeling of the neck.. I think that Premium are awesome guitars :) really almost perfect, Prestige are unbelievable.. J. Custom are perfection

    Its crazy how smooth and buttery the j custom sounds compared to the other one considering how good the other one is, its not a night and day difference but it definately sounds like the higher quality guitar and looks the part as well

    I like single coil on J Custom but humbuckers on premium. I had set of Tone Zone and Air Norton. Not a big fan of these pickups. Pickups on premium are based on DiMarzio Super Distortion. This pickup is one of my favorite.

    • @austrianpickingpower
      @austrianpickingpower  2 года назад +1

      I need to try those! Compared to the ibanez pickups of the genesis line the DiMarzios of the j.custom are awesome. I need a tube amp to really feel a lot of difference

    • @OrkhanJulfa

      @@austrianpickingpower Those pickups are great. I just prefer brighter sounding pickups like DiMarzio Evolution or Super Distortion. But if you like fat warm tone ToneZone and AirNorton are for you.

    cool comparison. I had both indonesian an Japanese RGs....the premium line gets your attention by offering let's say a "premium promise" but they feel rigid and incomplete...synergy of the components is not there. The Japanese Ibanez guitars are always on point...whether it's a Genesis, Prestige. Never had a J Custom so I am looking forward to my J custom later this year...I bet I will be surprised of the quality.

      I agree 100%
      Try out a j.custom!!! You´ll love it. The difference to the prestige line is not too big but some woods feel amazing and the tree of life is insanely beautiful!

    I got the RG Anniversary, swapped the black plate for a Sims Custom Shop clear plate and swapped the pickups out for DiMarzios PAF Pro's......be ripping that bad boy out on my next track! Also the body is Basswood not whatever you said.

    • @austrianpickingpower
      @austrianpickingpower  Год назад +1

      Thank you for your tips! I didn´t know that it´s basswood but that justifies the price.
      You are doing amazing covers! Keep on shredding!

    J. custom and premium can, in some cases, be a steep comparison. Personally own a (genesis/fujigen made) 550 and a prestige 655 (also fujigen) which are almost the same, yet the price difference was nearly 500€ on 655's favor, the difference being dimarzio pickups on 655. In practise, 90% same experience, though 655 has the more modern AJN neck joint for comfort and maybe 1mm thinner neck profile in all. Most bang for buck I've got was an Indonesian apprx. 400€ (rg 370dx, circa 2009). If in doubt, I'd say that can't go wrong with fujigen made! Anyway, that XXV is a strudelschnizel.. fretboard shokoladen fantastisch.

      @austrianpickingpower  2 года назад +1

      Awesome thank you for the comment! Yes since the RG550 and the prestige line are both made in Japan the difference is not too big...like you said it depends on the pickups. I am still waiting for a nice neon colored prestige guitar with fixed bridge...as soon as they produce it I will buy one :P

      is the pickups and case, that's it. The genesis has the block because of the older models, is not because of price

    Hi! Was wondering what gauge of string do you use for your J-Custom guitar?
    Thanks

    • @austrianpickingpower
      @austrianpickingpower  Год назад

      To keep it very simple I am using the same string on all my guitars. I use the ernie ball super slinky 0,9-0,42 (the pink ones)

      @@austrianpickingpower thatnks for the answer. I also have J-Custom and put 9.5-44 D”Addario strings that perfectly fits to my Jem 7v but looks like for this J Custom it’s too heavy. Gonna put 9-42 back.

      You can feel the higher quality of the j.custom and it is a lot heavier because of the expensive wood. The guitars sound a bit different but the differences are not big
