This reminds me of how I felt with a different shooter when I was younger. I got intimidated by the people around me improving too much and i stopped playing pvp shooters entirely. I can't say it was the best time of my life because my outlet of a replayable pvp game was gone and I was too timid to go back to it. Even now I never play pvp games alone because I remember well how angry and frustrated I get when I only have myself to think about when I lose. This video feels like it could be me if valorant was the game I stuck to. I'm glad this was recommended to me.
It is like people who climbs Mountains, there is no purpose on doing that, but people say they feel amazing when they do
But when you are on the top, all you have left (in the Mountain's case) is to enjoy the view
I dont know how it can be translated to Valorant.. You tell me!
i'v gon throught the same thing. when I got into the game most of my friends were silver 3 and I was the iron 1. they always bullied me. then one day i cut communication with them and started getting better. i reached gold but i could play consistently in high ascendent lobbies. i mastared viper and i mastared phantom, i had 87% winrate on breeze and 62% on ascent. i never missed a 1v and i could easily win a 1v5 most of the time. one day i came back to my friends and finally showed that they weren't better then me! they were plat by that time. i never girnded rank. i just wanted to get better. i waisted my 1 and a half year just to prove a point. but it wasn't worth it. i waisted my teen age on a stupid video game. now my mind is shaped like it. i was extremely intilegent when i was young, now I'm just a nerd. i wish i just spent that time learning or studying but building myself. but i really did almost lost in life to win a grinch. Addictions blinds you. and you don't realise it until its too late.
you are very odd. You cut contact with your friends because they made fun of you for being bad at a video game? Also you are like 11
Bro you dumb?
@@Goatified321 bro did you just call him odd
things that never happened.
Ur still low Elo + no friends
this is so relatable. played this game so much in 2021 and 2022, just to realize i wasted those years instead of working on myself and trying to achieve something. gaming addiction is real
I have a lot of students with this issue, that is to play to “rank up”, but not know WHY they want to rank up. There are 3 reasons that are very common, and they all change what you should spend your time on.
1. Flexing/social status. Some people just want to show off, and there’s nothing wrong with that. BUT if you have that as your motivation, anything beyond imm1 is a waste of time. These players generally get “good” enough and then move on to a different game to repeat this cycle.
2. Money/pro play/ streaming/etc. this has a different issue. Most prominent is that if you don’t make enough to live comfortably, you will always say “I could just go get a part time job” or “why am I doing something I don’t enjoy”. It’s a very slippery slope to pursue gaming this way as realistically the time in is never “worth it”. Even if you make LOADS of money, what are you gonna do? Probably just play valorant anyways.
3. Playing to learn/improve. This is the best way to play if you just want to enjoy your time, and are a competitive person. It’s not about there being a million people better then you, it’s about the fact you can get better then a million people. There’s always room to grow, and the rank doesn’t matter as long as you take your time breaking down your mistakes. I’m consistently radiant, but wouldn’t care if I was iron skill level, as it would just mean there’s that much more to improve on. The downside to this is that if you don’t have short AND long term goals, you can end up depressed about how you play, as you are trying to improve, not play worse. Hopefully this helps you out man. My discord is screenen if you ever wanna talk
This is a cinematic masterpiece
you’re a masterpiece
I don't understand why you have so few subscribers, you deserve much more, that's why you got a new one today:))
i love u
@@azenftw i love u too man i'm already waiting for the new video
Great video bro! I believe that ur grind to radiant is not for naught. Imagine if you implement that same dedication to learn some knowledge/skill, you’ll be unstoppable.
But the key lies in balance. You can’t just focus on grinding and let everything else loose in your life
under rated. loved this
From my experience - I've been playing valorant inconsistently from 2020, and there came a certain point where I was only playing to socialise with my friends and I'd end up throwing. 3 years later, I realised I was still shit at the game, it stressed me out and I was hardstuck bronze oftentimes even placing Iron. It was a terrible skill issue but I knew I was capable of better. However I quit the game, I completely detoxxed from it and tbh giving up didn't feel good not because I felt like the game was a measure of my capabilities, but the competitiveness of games is such that one cant help but try to better and so was it with life. At one point I was like, I can't handle a single silly game, will I also give up the next time I'm trying something in real life and fail at it ( without investing time and effort to get any better at it, like I did with valorant). So now I play valorant with a more healthy mindset I hope. If I can continue to learn and get better at it, I'll develop the skill to learn and get better at life too.
The amount of people that need to have this shown to them. I don’t normally play ranked at all, I thought I was just playing val just to have fun. Idk if its honestly that much fun anymore, and I think you’re onto something because my family has said ever since I started playing it my attitude has gotten a bit snippier and Ive been more on edge. Probably a good time to stop, no?
The story tellin 🔥
Keep up the good content bro
This needs to be pushed to peoples recommended, I just redownload it after leaving for 4 months. Its been the worst week of my life, I've been staying up till 4am, skipping school work. Thinking it would be different this time, and I wouldn't get addicted. I easy climbed my way through plat and when im one win away, I lose. Then I win one. Then I lose one. This happened quite a few times. I realized it was affecting the lives around me, so I dipped. Minecraft is way better, I can leave whenever I want, and I can do whatever I want. Thank you for listening to my rant😅
am I the only one that doesnt get addicted to this game? lol. I overall dont take/play games anywhere near as serious as I used to.
Games are meant to be fun but at the same time challenging. I've played fps games since i was a small child starting with 1.6 and some quake. These games have taught me the importance of leadership, communication, teamwork, friendship, and comptetion. As Tom Brady says that perfection is not the goal but the relentless pursuit of perfection is the end.
1.6 was a game I was (extremely) good at. There was no rank, no competitive mode, just a good time after work. In that game I got bored and would server hop until I found a non cheater that could own me, then play there until I learned to beat them... Then move on or play customs... Valorant is lacking on the casual side, but I still like the game and get a few laughs here and there.
I used to fight against radiant and scrim everyday for 2 months just to lose in 128 teams bracket in 2022, I was high immortal 3. After that is downfall of me I don't enjoy playing valorant competitive anymore except with friends or they need 1 person to 5 stack then I'll play, even these days I can still hit Immortal 1 easily with no effort I just don't enjoy it anymore. University will open next month and I'll improve my lifestyle, I don't want myself in 2021-2022 to repeat anymore
I'm not immortal or anything. I peaked silver in comp. I just don't play comp anymore. It's like a game of chess. Sure I can play a game and do my best to win, but do I ever want to be grand champion or just enjoy a game? Yeah, I just play unrated now. I can keep up with golds and plats and the occasional diamond that slums it in unrated once in a while. I own lobbies, I get completely pooped on, I play judge only troll games, I run down mid with a knife... I have fun. Why grind unless that's what gives you pleasure from your pass time?
I think you do have a point but I can't totally agree. There will always be people who are better no matter what I do, but at least I can see my improvements in Valorant through ranks.
Another thing is people always say teenagers have faster reaction time and perform better in fps games, so I'm afraid that I won't be able to grind properly when I'm older (retired).
you fr under-rated for sure
i love you
crazy video
damn uk i got into valorant at episode 4 and it was my first ego shooter at end of episode 4 i was plat 3 after that i got ranked in gold 1 at the start of episode 5 but in the next 6 months i ranked up to immortal at inhuman speed after that i just quit and was so dissapointed i would never find out how got i could have gottn
at that point in live i unfollowed every valorant streamer and made a new yt account because everytime i saw the game i got this very wierd feeling in my stomache where i just feel uncomfortable not knowing how good i could have become
This must be what solo queueing does to a man
Grinding ranked has the worst effect on my mental causing me to be angry all the time, recently I've been feeling down more than excited playing this game cause of my inferiority complex. This is my sign, I have 2 weeks off so I will spend it grinding this act and regardless of how I do it will be my last push hoping to get to Ascendant.
dam that was deep
just stop playing, you will feel free
Valorant ranked in beta and early day was more exiting and less draining. You could be satisfied after one competitive match and that’s it. Now it’s this constant Smurf/boosting/nocomm/cryptothrowing/edating/ranked grind plateau that which without finding a friend to play with or being lucky enough to find someone who doesn’t take it too seriously, it’s the most annoying game I’ve ever played. Comes back to the recent game I just played were I lost an 11-1 game in a diamond lobby with a radiant smurf on my team. 😂
Play the game when you have time but don’t play the game till you don’t.
Tbh, I just play the game not to grind or reach a certain rank in valorant, I just play to have fun. I mean, thats kinda the reason why I even play the game 😭 it’s fun and omg I get so excited when I log in, sure im iron one and that kinda sucks but I shouldn’t waste my time trying to reach a rank made of pixels, you should be playing the game to have fun and just get better in general
I hope you see this because I understand you personally.
I've reached 30-10RR off immortal almost every act, just to go on a losing streak, come back, then my comeback gets cut short and the episode ends with another Ascendant buddy. It mentally fucked me because it felt like all had playing Valorant taught me is that I can't achieve anything "special" in life, even if I tried my hardest and if I was so close every time. People would think "it's just a game, it's not that deep" or "skill issue," but that's not the point. The point is that you got invested into that one thing, you wanted to prove something special to yourself with that one thing, and poured hours and your heart into it. And realistically, I think anyone would feel a little crazy if all their time and effort drained was in vain.
Even when we know the things we're passionate about isn't inherently important, it's not uncommon for us humans to be driven by emotion and as a result: be irrational. Some people struggle to get over their ex's when they know their ex was a bad person. Thorfinn from Vinland Saga took a decade to get over avenging his father's death, even though his father from the start told him violence isn't ever the answer. And you and me took the life span of the game to realize the self-sabotage from "letting the game live rent free in our heads" to "being haunted by those specific losses that denied our desired rank" wasn't worth it, even when we knew it's pixels we're getting worked up about, and the chances of making a living off playing video games were incredibly low in the first place.
Perhaps, it could just be a "skill issue" and it's our fault that even when we had the abilities to get our dream rank, we didn't maintain that consistency because we crumbled after a demoralizing loss of an important game. Perhaps, it really "isn't that deep" and only had we had the mental of a monk, we would be happy. Or perhaps, had we gotten our rank, we would've thought the grind did pay off. Perhaps, had we gotten our rank, we would have been happy. But really, what we really want, are our years and tears back.
somebody give this man a tissue
oh my goodness….
Games should be played for fun. The second I started getting frustrated while playing valorant, I started playing other games and probably won’t go back for a while.
Good video
but did you have fun?
It’ll be worth it when I hit challenger
😂😂😂
just lie and tell everyone you hit radiant, ez B)
what school did you play for?
University of Toronto Mississauga! And also i love ur pfp
0:49 plsss give the name of that music man i loved it and also loved the creativty you applied on this video
just watch trailers on loop
which trailer?
@@Prouf1
it’s in the description :)
@@azenftw thanks a lot!
I love how my lobbies are composed of 9 players with less than 20 ping and me with 70 :) this game is just never worth it.
Although I have other reasons not to grind a rank on Valorant, this is however also a reason of mine. I could just simply put my time into a lot more important things than a rank inside of a Videogame full of toxics. Nobody is gonna care If you get immortal. The highest I did get was Silver II, But after the act was over, I did not see much of a point. You should just play Videogames for fun, not for competetion.
The first video compared to this video is crazy 😭
its just a game
i gave up about 2 years ago, its not worth my time , from now on i play unrated once a while.
I feel like too much of the community of a mindset where they have to constantly improve for a damn rank in a video game.
Tbh the only way to enjoy valorant is to be okay with being a casual.
nahhh im way too competitive in nature. my fun and thrill comes from knowing that i can be consistent and better than most. if i can't continue to climb and continue to do better and be better than there is no fun to be had for me. but that's why i only play competitive games when i'm in that mood. i don't go into gta online with this same mentality, or a more chill multiplayer game.
Weirdo4Mod
This game is not worth playing if i ever get the chance of playing this game all over again I'll never ever do it because this game is filled with constant load of bullshit.
testing
fun fact: Did you know, that there was a player from iron, who got boosted to radiant #7? Try to keep up your motivation after knowing this. :)
It’s only worth if it don’t take over ur entire life
once i hited diamond, i needed to quit this game because i already know after this its aint worth to play till immortal
people usually fall into that hole but good thing u realized it’s not worth 😭😂
playing for a year and the reward system without spending money was bs
Just sleep bro
So you're saying video games are a waste of time? A video games purpose is for the user to have fun, its just like any other hobby out there.
this is so edgy
it ain't that deep
It's not about depth. It's about taking the right choice or not. Idk what he would do if he didn't waste his time on this game but he could have done something useful. i mean its not just valo there are 1000 other things to waste your time in. If you wanna waste your time, waste it to mastar a skill.
true... its just a game. I'm imm 2 and I can still balance valorant with other stuff
@@saltysea3626 This advice sucks, having fun is not wasting your time, and you can easily play any game and at the same time master a skill, what's the point of being the best at something if u hate doing it? If u like grinding videogames, then grind videogames, and trust me, if you spend all your time grinding skills, you will look back and think "i could have done x", basically, there's no right choice, the only choice that matters is the one you choose.
@@tamb8178Yeah, some people forget that even though there isn’t always a reward afterwards, if you had fun doing it it’s worth it.
this is why you cheat
