Hey Godzly, hope you are fine. I don’t usually leave comments. As a middle-aged guy getting into the world of Pokémon TCG Pocket Game (because I love Pokemon since long time), I have to say this video was an absolute gem! The way you explained everything about the decks was incredibly clear and beginner-friendly, but it still had enough depth to keep me hooked. The script and production was so well thought out, and the editing was fantastic, smooth transitions, fun visuals, and everything was paced perfectly. Your deck showing graphics is clear and nice. I was looking for a channel like this where I can learn about the game more, but others was too fast paced for me to catchup. But your video made learning not just easy but genuinely enjoyable. Hats off to you for putting so much effort into making this such a quality experience. Truly impressed, keep up the amazing work!
As another middle-aged man, I religiously watch this >__< What I respect is that Godzly is never putting anyone down, talking negative, and giving chances to off-meta deck suggestions, while explaining the why. That's huge for me. Thanks for making a great community Godzly
Exeggutor EX is heavily underrated. I can't count how many times in normal games or solo games I've been wiped out turn 2 by it bc they flipped heads and knocked out the only pokemon I had in play.
You said that only 3 of 5 decks have Stage 2. But all of them except for Pikachu have Stage 2: Gyrados: Stage 2 Greninja Mewtwo: Stage 2 Gardevoir Charizard: Stage 2 Charizard Celebi: Stage 2 Serperior But what you are saying is still somewhat valid as Stage 1 is easier to get out. Problem is that many Stage 1 decks are on a time-limit as they want to strike earlier and end the match before you can get Stage 2. Most Stage 2 decks use a tank card (Mew, Druddigon, Tauros, Kangaskhan, Dhelmise, Lapras, etc.) or in some cases, an often quick Stage 1 tank card like Exeggutor EX. Until we have a way to counter slow metas, it’s hard to counter these Stage 2 metas. Gyrados EX is the only Stage 1 with the likeness of Stage 2 HP and Attack Power. So Greninja isn’t necessarily needed but it aids with ensuring that you will have lethal with Gyrados if the HP is too high. Druddigon also helps reduce HP when attacked for when the time comes. Honestly, it has a hard time against Grass with the abundant heals but at least there are no snipes. Like from Hitmonlee, Zebstrika, or Electabuzz decks. Pikachu EX is the only Basic that requires 4 other basics to maximize attack rather than 2 evolution cards, but we have pokeball to search for basics and we do not have to wait a turn for a 2nd evolution (we can place all basics on the bench for the power. But Pikachu is only slightly higher to a Stage 1 effective level of HP and Attack Power. Mewtwo and Celebi, while only basic, needs a Stage 2 line to get energy to be effective. Gardevoir and Serperior, respectively. Mewtwo needs it to replenish energy while Celebi needs the double energy to grant more flip chances (therefore, high probability lethal). Charizard is the only real deck that its primary win condition is using a Stage 2 Pokemon (Gyrados is Stage 1 while Pikachu, Mewtwo, and Celebi are basics). Like Mewtwo, you discard energy for attacks but instead of relying on Gardevoir, you need a Moltres to dance and gamble for energy. This is even more akin to Gyrados’ need for Misty, gambling for more energy. But you only lose 1 energy (again somewhat the same as Gyrados EX who affects all Pokemon who have energy). But Stage 2 Charizard isn’t guaranteed. Which is why Arcanine EX has to step up from time to time. Stage 2 decks remain supreme but it’s only a matter of time before we get more potential to draw, shuffle, and search our decks with new cards and effects. Pokeball searches basics right now but we’ll get something like Great Balls or Ultra Balls to search Stage 1 and Stage 2 in the future. Not to mention searchable ways to find fossil cards. And other unique draw and shuffle cards like Mythical Slab.
It's weird to see godzly playing meta decks rather than something he absolutely cooked in the lab but is a good video to make people know what the basic cards are to look for to run a good deck.
@alcedof.6629 less energy cost is more valuable than more hitpoints. Same example with the promo jigglypuff. Much better bc you can attack turn one. If you run two snivys the chances of starting with it are very high. That's very valuable
I'm running: 2 Pikachu EX, 2 Raiuchu (1 Thunderbolt and 1 Gigashock) and 2 Electrabuzz, 2 Sabrina, 2 speed, 2 Ltn Surge, 2 Research, 2 Pokeball, 1 Giovani, 1 potion Been winning some matches. Ltn Surge clutches often. I'm Always trying to set up Pikachu Ex and when you draw the cards you can easily maneuver your cards. Pretty cool deck.
I think that 180 HP on a first stage evolution is too much. It is however kinda balanced by the fact that Magikarp only had 30 HP and a lot of pokemon can target the bench. But still... Water decks rely heavily on misty to work which make them either broken or slow as heck.
LEOOOOOO 🫶💗 his climbing is immaculate! Love that GYRADOS is shown so much love now! Everyone was saying Gyrados was the worst EX Pokemon when it first came out, but now it’s one of the top decks!!
@@arvy7765 a LOT of content creators were saying Gyarados EX was underwhelming when the set first came out and they were looking at all the cards. tf you on
@@arvy7765 You weren't paying attention then, people thought oh just a 4 energy 140 damage attack that discards a random energy from somewhere is bad because they couldn't clue in on the fact that even if gyarados discards an energy, you place another one next turn and still keep attacking. Making it a water version of mewtwo EX that doesn't need a stage 2 pokemon on the bench to dish out every turn.

normally i would agree but having 3-5 games for each deck (times by 5) would be far too much for a video like this. My favourite part was Mewtwo because godzly had to think, Least probably Pikachu due to how quick it ended but i don't feel bad.
Most notable is it counters mewtwo ex but it also works situationally on others like if a golem attacks you while your active pokemon got 120hp left unless they got giovanni or just to counter giovanni
It lets you live specific one shots. Pika ex survives a marshadow boosted attack, primeape 100 damage, it breaks a lot of gio thresholds, for gyara ex it can let magikarp survive one of the 30 damage bench hitters. That kind of thing. Its typically used to make specific match-ups better, or specific interactions within the match-up at the very least.
mewtwo deck has a little bit of variety in the trainer cards, blue can help with certain breakpoints on attacks but i feel requires a bit more skill/prediction. budding expeditioner is just a koga for mew ex which can be good since in worst case scenario you use mew ex as a wall while building up mewtwo/gardevoir. both are good i feel overall blue is a little more situational but can still come in clutch i recommend playing 5-6 games with each and see which you like more
I know the new set is based mostly on Gen 2 (Jotho). But I'm still hoping to get a Lucario line 😀 It's my favorite pokemon! And since there's not much of fighting types in Gen 2, maybe we will get it? 😀 I mean, we only have 3: Tyrogue, Hitmontop and Heracross (which will most likely be a grass type in this game because of the bug typing). sooooo LUCARIO LUCARIO LUCARIO LUCARIO 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
IMO Pikachu is the best because it has the least “hard losing” matchups. Mewtwo HARD loses to Gyarados. Gyarados HARD loses to Pikachu. Charizard HARD loses to any Mew variant. Celebi HARD loses to Blaine and RNG. Pikachu hard loses to nothing, including fighting variants.
That''s not the top zebstrika pikachu deck. You gotta remove leaf and put potio, either 2 potion or 1 potion+blue. You can also remove 1 zapdos and put in a Mythical Island Electabuzz

more like the decks that he threw into a pot and brewed it into a poisonous soup, like 90% of those are literally unviable
Only change i would make to Celebi deck is use the Promo Snivy instead as Promo Snivy can attack for 1 energy if you get an ultra bad hand.
Yes I support that
Normal snivy had 70 HP and therefor doesnt die to 2 Hits from Bench Attackers like Hitmonlee. The promo one has 60 HP.
