From the 1992 film The Last Of The Mohicans. This musical piece originally entitled The Gael, was composed by Scottish singer songwriter Dougie Maclean for his 1990 album called The Search. It was later adapted for this film and entitled Promentory.

I was on a “Last of the Mohicans” theme song binge and came across this masterpiece. This is the first time I’m hearing an Oud Cover and I must say that my ears have been blessed. As I read the comments, I cannot believe Ahmed is no longer with us. May he rest in peace. Thank you for your positive mark on the world.

What make oud so special is that when played it seems as if it has a soul and a mind of its own. Loved it ever since I was a kid and still love it
It reminds me of that warm feeling when I was young sitting on my grandpa's lap waiting for him to tell me one of his stories.
Because of the oud has 11 strings A,B,C,D,E,F only A is a single string and the rest is double strings which give you much more tones and there are rare versions of oud that has more strings and give more authentic music.
try to listen to the " el Qanon music instrumental " you will find it much much harder than the oud

Oud sound always reminds me of that warm feeling when I was young sitting on my grandpa's lap waiting for him to tell me one of his stories.
because the oud he used has 13 strings .... so he managed to achieve reach some register's notes the normal oud or guitar cant achieve the same notes.

Don't know if you read it or not, but wanted to say that The last of the Mohicans is my absolute favorite movie. Every Sunday for around now 10-12 years I sit on my couch and enjoy this awesome movie. Your oud cover is absolutely amazing and I love listen to it. So big thanks for it and really appreciate what you are doing 🙏🙏

really amazing. as an Indian who lived in the Arab world for most part of my life and right now living in Europe, I say that the world is almost entirely ignorant of the potential of the Arabs. we need more people who would be ambassadors of good faith just like this talented young man here who showed how heavenly Arabic musical instruments can be. personally I'm also a big fan of Arabic food especially the shawarma

لقد خسر الفن اليمني اليوم هامه من هامات عازفيّ العود.. رحل وترك العود اليمني يبكي فارسه الجميل ..
لقد كان معجون بتاريخ اليمن وفنها، سعى لتجديد الأغنية اليمنية و قدم مخزوناً موسيقياً رائعاً..
عشق الموسيقي فكانت صوته.. نقل وترها وايقاعها عبر إحساسه لمراحل لم يسبقه إليها أحد.. منفرداً كان أوركسترا بذاته..
اعتاد أن يمتلك مشاعرنا و يُنقّلها كيفما شاء ببهجة، كأنما أرواحنا رهن ريشته .. حتى برحيله مبتور الوداع لم يعتقنا من سلب هذه المشاعر خلفه، مشاعر ملايين اليمنيين تُشيّعك اليوم يا أحمد .. تتبعك و تودعك، رحمة الله عليك و مغفرته ..
دنيا قصيرة.. وداعاً يا تلك الروح الجميلة!.
