what bothers me: according to rumors, and also according to his statement, the 2024 Ypsilon will come as both a combustion engine and an electric one. from 2028, however, Lancia should still be purely electric.
for a car brand that is being completely rebuilt and that has always stood for progress, it doesn't make sense to offer combustion engines for just 3-4 years. why not use this relaunch to position Lancia as a brand for alternative drives or as a pure e-brand from the beginning?
Ypsilon is one of the best selling cars on italian market at the moment. In 2024 EV´s still will be much more expensive than CE-powered cars, so Lancia would risk a lot of sales if only EV´s would be available. So a slow shift to 100% EV makes a lot of sense for a company which will be "soft-rebooted".
Making Lancia electric is spitting in the faces of all people who love Lancia and drive it or drove it in the past.
@Uros Kostic To be honest, it's not. Lancia has to adapt to the future, or they'll fail. The 'real' Lancia is about luxury cars with great quality, reliability and technical refinement. Cars like the Aurelia, Flaminia, Flavia and Fulvia are great examples of it.
