Alkaji very yummy and tasty misal and other maharashtrian snacks but have u ever tried mamledar misal in thane its real yum the spiciness is so high that people use sit with 1 bottle of chilled buttermilk which used to be starved in beer bottle i am talking about 35 year's back my college day's must try 😋😋😋😋😋🤩

Misal is always best with MATKI and SOUTH INDIAN MIXTURE or the south INDIAN farsan. Previously it was made of sprouted matki ,but since last 25 years or so the restaurant walas have switched to safed vatanas which don't fit the combination as matki does. I am sure the kaala vatanas of malvani styles would appeal much to misal lovers.
In Mumbai, you will get safed vatana misal in shetty restaurants but in Pune you get Sprouts misal and in some places it is served with 2 slices of bread rather than pav
@@explorewithalka safed vatanas are used all over THANE, MUMBAI and NAVI MUMBAI and purpose is to save time and effort.
Sliced bread are never upto the mark when it come's to combine it with MISAL.

Misal is a snack that served for my lunch on many an occasion during my active service. Onion is something I like to eat raw as when it is mixed with anything liquid it tends to get soggy! So I always have it separately.
I hate coriander leaves as much as people simply go gaga over it. Somehow its very sight gives me creeps. Forget its smell and taste although I like kothimbir vadi.
Pithale we often make at home. But once again without onion and coriander for my sake!
Every time you show such tempting places I'm struck by inability to move out much! Of course at my time in life what else can one expect?😢
Indeed I have fallen in love with Marathi food but thats since my childhood days as I was born and brought up in Dadar which is in the heart of Mumbai and highly dominant by Maharashtrians. I love mostly all Maharashtrian snacks and I started loving their non veg curries specially when my mom shifted to Pune 8 years back after which we relish these dishes in all our trips (A big THANKS to all our Maharashtrian neighbours too who have been sharing it all 😋 in Mumbai) Thank you

@@explorewithalka Oh yes, some of the Marathi food is excellent minus of course the coriander which is very popular here in Poona! Hoteliers stare at me when I tell them not to sprinkle the item with the cursed coriander!
Yes, the nonvegetarian dishes in the Maratha style are second only to the Indian muslim dishes. Both of them are the best in the world.
The best aloo tikki I ate was in a Sindhi wedding. They were our neighbours.
My eldest brother was in Matunga first. Then in 1964 he moved to Bandra East, MIG Colony. In our school and college days we used to go to him in vacations and even anytime we felt like. I had a very special bond with him and with his wife. I still remember the taxi rides from Bandra to Dadar with her. It was then I visited the older eateries you mention.
Unfortunately, both of them are now no more. Only their fond memories!
