The real threat of proxy war between the US and China in the Philippines will have a dire consequences to the Philippines. It will be worst than WW2 with the possibility of nukes being use.

Last it's not the US who is drawing the Philippines into a conflict with China. It's the Philippines drawing the US into a conflict with China over her SCS claims. The US didn't come back to the SCS because of Taiwan. They came back because of China's increasing aggression against the Philippines over the resource rich Spratly Islands.
