what is it with lot of brands moving production to indonesia? Is it cheaper there? Is Indonesia becoming a new Korea? Just as Korea became new Japan few years ago?
Ok, I really liked the review. Was hoping to see the Walnut top, I'm putting a gorgeous figured Claro Walnut top on one (and possibly two, if a potential buyer decides for that instead of a figured Redwood) of my first nine builds,, and I"d love to see what PRS does with walnut. One thing that would have been really cool, is that since you played a djent-ish rhythm guitar at the beginning of the review, if you would have played a more traditional metal, or thrash metal, or maybe just a little variation in the subgenre of metal, to get a better sense of how that guitar, and specifically those pickups, lend themselves to other sub genres that potential customers might want to hear. Like you said, there aren't a lot of guitars on the market that have those pickups loaded, so it's very difficult to ever try them out. And being one of the most expensive aftermarket pickups Seymour Duncan, offers, people who want to try them before they buy them usually. Just a thought. Otherwise, a good review video.
You're becoming my favorite RUclips guitar channel.... I dig the honesty. I understand the companies pay your bills but you're not afraid to admit you're concerns. It's awesome! Would love to see more content
Duuuude, that lead hit me up more than a drunk step Father. I love that you're getting better And better in guitar, and being a better creator. I think that you should be in the Jared Dines shred collab this year.
I ordered mine about the same time you uploaded this video , the first one came in damaged in shipping so sent it back and ordered a replacement , then covid hit and I just got it the other day but thanks to this video and the very few other that were available I was able to patiently wait it out but I've probably watched this video 30 or 40 times just living vicariously through you so thank you for making this one , love your channel it's gotten me through many a night at work keep up the good work brother 💪
This demo song rocks! I must admit that most of the time the demo songs aren't really my style but sometimes you blow me away. This was one of those moments \m/
I love how you said it's like a 3-hour drive from the nut to the first threat that's funny as s*** like I said I'm shocked by the extra large scale really never seen one in person except around like a base
I bought the six string version used recently. I like it a lot. I was a tiny bit worried when you complained about the neck radius but I used to have an Ibanez RGA32 and that had a wizard 2 neck I believe. This neck is actually less flat so I cannot relate. I really love this guitar. I will replace the nut and maybe eventually upgrade the tuners, saddles, and upgrade the pots but only the nut is really a priority.
very nice take on the periphery vibe. been a long time subscriber.of the channel, but just recently started feeling like I want one of these reeeeeaaaaal bad so I came back to watch and honestly you did a good job catching what people want to hear from this guitar so thanks for selling me on this 2 years in the future 😅
I have a Supro Hampton and Huntington III that were both built in Indonesia and they are great! Just as good as any US built guitar in that price range. Awesome review!
@@seanstiller7202 I love it, feels great to play and it is a well built instrument. The Alpha Omega pickups are also just fantastic. Has great low end clarity which was my biggest complaint about less expensive 7 string models.
@@seanstiller7202 Its a plain stock nut, but I've had no issues. Still when I can actually go to a music store again I may replace it with a graphite one now that I think about it. I still haven't actually gotten it properly set up by a guitar tech since the pandemic hit.
hunter, I really dig this track you laid down dude, killer riffage as always brother! my holcomb svn should be here a day or so after xmas, happy holidays dude!
I was going to wait 6 months for the Walnut Satin, until I heard this axe has a flatter neck. I went with the regular PRS SE SVN, found a mint one used for $659 as my first 7 string. Love, love the guitar, and that is coming from a high end American Strat Plus, which just isn't for a Dream Theater fanboy like me. And not just for metal. I like the HW on the Holcomb better, but I can't seem to care that much.
Killer demo riff. Don’t listen to any of these fucking boomers saying you need to get better for 20 years. You’re a killer player and a great content creator. Keep doing what you’re doing and don’t get discouraged
Fretboard radius should feel the exact same in terms of curvature on a guitar regardless of the string count. The circle that the radius represent is still a 40” diameter circle, so going from a 6 to 7 shouldn’t have a noticeable change other than making the fretboard wider. 20” = 20”.
Honestly everything you said in the review is about what I figured you would say. Haven't played one yet but I think I'll likely agree with it. I did notice when you look on the prs website the other seven string is no longer there. So I'm wondering if the Holcomb is now the only one they offer for 2020. As always great vid. Sound wise I'm in complete agreement about the pick ups. They seem much better suited for extended range.
After trying out Custom 24’s and also older SE models it’s hard to not notice the difference in playability and finish quality so I’m still skeptical. But I really love that satin natural.
E# is F and has been written in as an accidental to raise the pitch a semitone and lower the pitch a semitone with an E natural accidental in a run or something to creat dissonance or another harmonic effect when played over the other parts of the composition. So not an official note because it's really is F but it sorta exists, I've seen it in a piece
Only downside of prs guitars is still no option for SS frets. Thats always confused me, they make such high end instruments. It would be awesome if they started offering that on their more expensive models
I doubt they ever will ive seen videos of paul talking about how he hates the tone of ss frets. I have no opinion on the matter i will play anything with strings on it 😂😂
Hey... Nice video and some killer riffs out there... One quick question... How do you connect the 120 watt 6505 to a torpedo which only takes up-to 100 watts?
Great review! How do you like the PUPs? I recently installed Bare Knuckle Jugs in my Jackson HT7 and they're amazing so I'm honestly hesitant to get a metal-oriented guitar without them. Would love to know how you think the Alpha/Omega compares to other high-end PUPs
That was a really good review! Did you say it was made at Cort’s factory? It would be super cool if you could do a review of the black Cort KX500MS. I’m really curious about how it compares to the Holcomb one. I think it looks dope and is one of the most affordable multi scale seven strings.
I really agree with you I think it's awesome talk for its money I've ever played one but playing I played many and I got friends a have PRS has and I agree with what you're saying
I still can't get over how different the tops are on these. I actually don't like the top on this particular one agufish has, but I really lucked out with the one I managed to get hold of. It's much denser, with much more of a quilt to it; if that makes any sense..
I get that radius is just preference, but I’ve never understood the appeal of a 20” fretboard. There’s some silly myth that it’s somehow “faster”. I think it feels like playing the face of a piece of lumber.
What's good my ninja!lol Love your videos your Vids are very medicating in a way?lol anyways appreciate what you do brother!🤘🏽 P.S. Do you play Fortnite?😅🤔
OK, but when's the 8-string coming out?? 😂 😂
Yea,but Harley Benton has you covered bro
Yeah, but when is the Harley Benton Agufish Signature coming out?? 😂🤘🎸
Okay Ill order a nother tshirt to fund your harley Benton 21 string, Just couse I want you to outdjent Stevie T and Jared LoL

When are you gonna do an album, your creativity with riff writing is freaking amazing. You should do a collab or something.
We see that signature Harley Benton dude!! STAHP TEASING USSSS
I think it will be available next year, I hope so at least, maybe in june.
You're becoming my favorite RUclips guitar channel.... I dig the honesty. I understand the companies pay your bills but you're not afraid to admit you're concerns. It's awesome! Would love to see more content
The Holcomb burst looks infinitely better than the satin natural finish in my opinion
No comparison.
In person the satin is much much better than the pictures, but yeah, I do love that burst.
The satin wears out quickly if you play a lot and becomes dirty looking. Burst gang
Duuuude, that lead hit me up more than a drunk step Father. I love that you're getting better And better in guitar, and being a better creator.
I think that you should be in the Jared Dines shred collab this year.
A 7 String fender strat is all I need
Rodrigo Díaz 7 String Tele Deluxe
Rodrigo Díaz 7 string jazzmaster
Rodrigo Díaz bruh you fucked up my mind in ways that nobody else has:(
Kiesel makes one, and occasionally Agile does.
Jackson made one for Josh Smith of northlane
Holy shit that key change in the demo track... wow Hunter we need an album!
The 20" radius is god damn amazing if you play technical stuff like 90 % of Periphery's songs.
I didn’t like it I liked my JP70 radii more but I probably wouldn’t mind it if I got used to it
The original SE Holcomb was the first video I've seen from you, holy shit how time flies
@Agufish just found you last week, Love the channel my dude. Keep up the good work !!
That intro song was 100% djenty goodness. 10 out of 10.

Wow, this is definitely my favorite song you've put together. This one was amazing, Hunter!
Damn that track was dope dude, can't wait to see how good you are once you play as long as Ray.
Wow your playing has gotten better. I'm proud of you!
I went to one of Marks clinics the day after the SVN was announced and he brought it with him. We were all able to mess around with it then
um thoughts?
I did as well. Epic guitar and player.

I do miss the fat dumper on that Gibraltar bridge tho...that's about it. Everything else I like better on the PRS.
Someones playing in Drop A and boy does it sound amazing

That intro song was amazing
I see you channelled your inner Periphery for this demo, sounds great man! Good review, I'll have to consider this one for my 7 string slot
Damn Hunter,That riff is a Banger all the way around...."and you know this mannn!!!" 👍😜thanks for the great content as always.
3 hour drive between the nut and first fret 🤣 . You should try the 27.5” scale on my shuriken baritone.
Man, those demos are so good! You should definitely release an album or something
i haven't even watched this video but i enjoy your reviews. here is a thumbs up *winks*
That intro is my favorite one so far. Excellent job friend👌🏼
I'm probably alone on this but the walnut natural wood finish seems really boring.
Agreed
I have mixed feelings. The heavy gloss rubs me the wrong way though
I need that purple Harley Benton sc in my life please hurry up and let thoman sell them
Your riffs just keep getting better and better \,,/
I have a Supro Hampton and Huntington III that were both built in Indonesia and they are great! Just as good as any US built guitar in that price range. Awesome review!
I just ordered the Walnut Satin version on Friday from my local store. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
What are your thoughts after playing it for a while? I want one but am having issues finding one to try

ironically misha's import jackson sig has a 20" fretboard radius

I just got my SVN last week... Needless to say I've picked up my 6 string twice since.
Just bought mine today! Love it!
I'm really tempted to get the walnut version.
My wife and I are going on vacation in January, we're heading to the 12th fret of a 28" scale baritone.
I've been a strat player for like 15 years but man oh man do PRS kick ass.
Would love to give the Mark Holcolm SVN a go one day.

lmfao "Yeah it's like a fuckin 3 hour drive from the nut back to 3rd." I died

That is really really nice surprised to see something bigger than a 25 and 1/2 scale though thought I'd like it granted I'm in the EMG fan all day
If my life means anything I can die happy knowing I started the brisket burst name 😂. Hopefully I can swing the seven this year.
The demo is insane!
Great, hunter, samurai, and davie new uploads again. Good day
Hey Agu i have a holcomb 6 now and a gretsch g5622. Im torn between grabbing a prs mt15 stack or a laney ironheart stack. Any opinions on the pair?
very helpful, thanks fam
That demo track was godlike.
Only downside of prs guitars is still no option for SS frets. Thats always confused me, they make such high end instruments. It would be awesome if they started offering that on their more expensive models
Its because paul reed smith hates them and refuses to out it on their guitars
I doubt they ever will ive seen videos of paul talking about how he hates the tone of ss frets. I have no opinion on the matter i will play anything with strings on it 😂😂
Lmao "3 hour drive from the nut to the first fret" Priceless👍
hey Agufish. love your videos! but you should probably clean of the dust on the guitar when you do close up shots on the guitar :P
Why I watch this when I've had one for 23 days shy off a year, idfk
Hey... Nice video and some killer riffs out there... One quick question... How do you connect the 120 watt 6505 to a torpedo which only takes up-to 100 watts?
As an owner of one of these, I'd tell ya to get one b4 they run out.
I pre ordered the natural wood finish last week 👍
How does it play man? I’m considering ordering one without trying it first.
Hi, can you please inform when your Signature Harley Benton will be available for purchase? Thanks in advance
Djenty + Jazzy = PRS SE Mark Holcomb

Hello just a question...can the 64 string hold drop A tuning on this guitar? Or you need thicker strings?
What are your thoughts on Motley Crue coming out of retirement?
My order date got moved to 2nd week of January :(
Walnut satin, pls come to me soon.
Please review the schecter reaper MS-7. I know it really isn't your kind of guitar, but that guitar deserves more hype.

That natural satin 🤙
Does the guitar come shipped in Drop G#? Can’t find any info anywhere but the Holcomb 6 came shipped in Drop C..
DUDE YOU HAVE TO REVIEW THE BOSS KATANA MK2!!!!!!!!
I really agree with you I think it's awesome talk for its money I've ever played one but playing I played many and I got friends a have PRS has and I agree with what you're saying
What do you think about the Japanese Fender Swingers?
Talking about hyped up guitar with your Hb in the background... I see what you did there.
I know Periphery but still didn’t know who Mark was!!
Whats that fret wrap like pin on the headstock? Is that a different kind of fret wrap?
I think it would be cool If you went back to the 6 string and gave us an updated opinion, concidering that you like modern guitars more?
your dog is most metal dog I ever seen
the dog digs the 7 string for sure.
1:25 cleans at 1:45
wow nice!
anyone else enjoy the bleeding ear drums during the guitar bits?

how dare you deny that poor pupper his pats
Not sure if I could bond with the bridge. I am used to seven string floyds giving my palm a home base.
How would this hold up in a slightly higher tuning? Like C standard with an added high F string.
bro those pickups have a CRAZY amount of low-end. is that how they're supposed to sound? or did i just get unlucky in my purchase?
Hey man, maybe his signal chain is way different than yours hence it doesn't sound the same. He probably mixed the audio too later on
Nice guitar
You are a serious version of Stevie T 🤘🏼

Graph Techs are infused with PTFE, not graphite.

I want schecters 7 string evil twin with the fishmen flucence’s soooo bad. Try one ☝️
