Always wanted to learn that song thanks Edo! I was just wondering isn’t Edge using delay (2nd scene on the 360 pack) for the riff2 and pre chorus section ? Maybe the BBC version is different than the RB or U22 one...
Yes, he did have delay in the actual tour and later promo shows, but in this specific version (the buyer requested specifically for this) there is no delay in those parts. Not sure whether he had not programmed the final sounds yet, or he just forgot to change preset in that occasion! :D
We bought your sounds to use in our U2 cover band and most of the patches are almost unusable because of the gap. Theres no way we can use the magnificent patch the way it is. When you go from the verse to the od break there is a big gap in silence...and it is very quiet...but when you raise the volume level to make it equal, any delay bleedover is so loud is makes your system peak out. There are alot of sounds that sound like they are really far away or something...not just quiet, but far away...its very weird. then when you turn those sounds up to match the other ones...all kinds of crazy bad things happen and peak out the sound. The sounds by themselves are great, and I think this would work great if you are in the studio and record each part separately, but we've got alot of work to do and are gonna ha e to change alot before we can use this live. UTEOTW is another example....I cant switch from the verse to the main riff at an equal volume without peaking out,,
I think there might be something wrong in your setup, I personally use my presets live with both my U2 tribute bands and have no problems with any of them.. feel free to get in touch via email and I’ll be happy to help you figure out what’s wrong and how to fix it!
I used the performance at the BBC from the promo tour as reference - definitely not my favorite, but that's what the customer wanted - and I think Edge hadn't quite figured out the final sounds yet, so I think it does sound more distorted than the actual tour sound. Good sound overall, but in my opinion you got too much distortion in your sound. Edge's sound is a bit clearer.
