I have a question I'm looking for a salvageable boat at least a 40+' is there any in the area that you are located..because I am interested in going west and everything I am finding is east coast and Florida
I'm a commercial fisherman from Newport Oregon, and have long lined halibut both offshore here in Oregon (derby) and Alaska (IFQ). A couple of cool facts, it takes around 13 years for a halibut to become legal size. Also, every fish's length determines its weight... 🐟🐟
I'm sure it's intentional on the part of the captain. There's no reason to fish 130 fathoms deep for halibut unless you're trying to get sablefish on the side.
Another great video! 🤩
Looks like a great time! 👍

In Oregon we suggest trying the ports of Astoria/Warrenton, Newport, Charleston and Port Orford as those are the most active. Thank you for asking!

All about profit no by catch
They should be fined for the improperly handling of undersized fish. No respect for the resource.
easy to say on the couch, go protest draggers not the longliners.
I enjoyed the video, but this is not a clean boat. I watch a lot of commercial halibut fishing and this is about as dirty as I have seen.
It was dirty work for sure. 😆
