    The sluice box hopper made me laugh, then go..wow- that is absolutely ingenious....It looked the feeder to a pellet stove once you had all your concentrates in there..I never thought of using my ice fishing sled....Mr Robertson- You are now Elmo's hero.......I agree 100% on being able to feed your design with dry material-If you used wet material in your design- You would have to have a spray bar on top to stop it from jamming....Your sluice box reminds me of the one I built -I incorporated all my favorite design to catch the gold...If a piece of Gold ever escapes, then it deserves to be set free....thanks for sharing the ideas...Dig,DIg,DIg

      So it works better than I expected. I think it is going to work well with wet material as well My fist run the material was wet and it worked fine. I hate to do all the work to put the dirt in the sluice and then just blow it out the end my set up is not perfect yet but will keep working on it . Thanks for watching.

      I see no flaws in your system..I have built a few myself and tried different thing each time....With your system running wet of dry would not make a difference because your spray bar being in the bottom liquefies everything before heading down the sluice..only change I would make is adding an extra spray bar on the top of the bucket....With a little jet dry- I would feel confident in running my dirt thru that....Great work...A little paint and you could sell them at the gold shows..lol

      Good idea selling them I would just have to clean it up a lot will have to think on that for awhile.

    Looks like the feeder is working great. Should make your feeding job much easier. A 6"x10" or 12" piece of that sawtooth mat should fit quite nicely in your feeder exit. The mat needs about 800 to 1100 GPH to work well at that angle so it should work well there. I just got my sluice up and going and running tests today and I should have more info on it later in the week. So far I like that it has so much more storage room than the Vortex and the Deep V. Clean out is very fast and easy as well. I'll see how the capture rate is on it as well.

    • @alanrobertson2510
      @alanrobertson2510  6 лет назад

      Thank you Utah. You already have some of the sawtooth mat. I can't wait to see it in action it looks like it would work great. Good luck on your test today I will be looking for the video.

    • @utahavalanch
      @utahavalanch 6 лет назад +1

      I ran it for 4 hours yesterday to try to find the sweet spot on water flow and best classification. So far it runs -20 mesh and smaller beautifully with 800 gph. I'll run it with larger material today and try to see how it does.

    • @alanrobertson2510
      @alanrobertson2510  6 лет назад

      Let me know how it goes if it will run -20 it would be great for a clean up sluice.

    • @utahavalanch
      @utahavalanch 6 лет назад

      I ran +20, 30 and -30 material today. It caught most of the +20 and only lost 4 flakes. I didn't find any in the 30 and -30 tailings. This seems to work best with the smaller mesh sizes. I'd show you a couple of pics but RUclips doesn't allow pics in the E-mail part.

    • @alanrobertson2510
      @alanrobertson2510  6 лет назад

      How did your test go? I just ordered the sawtooth mat today. They say it can be used with material classified to 1/4 inch and that is what I screen my material down to It should be a great addition to the sluice.

    looks like it works great but your pay dirt should be wet when running it so your gold wont float on you.. i found that out the hard way when i panned out my tailing and found a lot of gold then my Dad told me why.

      Alan Robertson try that "tee port" idea I emailed you... loop the spray bar through the bucket and back to itself... center your water inlet from the pump... equal distance to each 1/2" port... tee fittings as close to edge of bucket... I'll email you on Friday... I have it drawn up on my computer at work...

      Thanks Marvin. It is still a work in progress I reconfigured the the pvc pipe with only one control valve for the water flow seems to be working well. Absolutely give it a try I would like to see what you come up with. No I have not tried the dream mat yet I just ordered the new sawtooth mat and going to give that a try. Thanks for watching.

    • @alanrobertson2510
      @alanrobertson2510  6 лет назад

      OK guys just my thoughts and I may be wrong but if I classify my dirt down to 1/4 inch doesn't the bigger rocks get stuck in the dream mat and wash out the small gold to move the bigger rocks out. what has been your experience with that?

    • @michaelzapp5011
      @michaelzapp5011 6 лет назад +1

      The various eddy currents created throughout the dream mat system creates WAY Too MANY vortexes that cause the gold to drop out, even the micro pieces. The 1/4" material is affected more by the water flow and it really doesn't effect the gold much at all. I personally love the dream mats and think they are the best matting system out there. Just my opinion
