I appreciate your zest for safety but there’s a lot I’m sure you do and are comfortable / experienced with that is more dangerous. For all you gung ho parents out there, let me remind you that the captain of the ship suffered some kind of head injury plus exhaustion from his own words and was faced with the responsibility to make sure his family was safe, what if he was carrying that child in his hands? These prolonged and challenging expeditions should not include a child that can't walk let alone swim. There is one thing going camping with your family but another taking your family on these Daniel Boome adventures. I am unsubscribing from this channel. Never do this again!
Jim and Tori, I been watching you two for awhile and I can truly say that I have noticed such growth in Wesley. You two just keep doing what you’re doing with him and Wesley will continue to thrive and grow beyond measure.
Tori, you are an amazing woman, mom and wife. Can you imagine as a baby, floating on a river going up and down rapids? It's like 10 days of rides for them. Hard work for the parents, but you could tell that both children loved being outside with you.
You two are a total inspiration. What it must take to plan a trip like this with two young children, let alone one with a disability, is amazing. Just because a child has a disability doesn't mean they can't experience things that others do. To see the smiles on Wesley's face is just wonderful, and the interaction with his brother is beautiful. No one knows what the mind is capable of - even more so in the mind of someone with a disability. Unforeseen occurrences befall everyone and no life is lived well when you worry about all the 'what ifs'. You can't help what happens on a trip - like this or otherwise - and its clear you didn't plan for problems to take place just for sensationalism. You had a contingency, and that's what matters. It's clear you love both boys equally. To leave the boys home would be heart-breaking for you both. You don't live your lives in fear and you're a family that enjoys life. Keep it that way. Well done to you both.

Torie is a beast, you are blessed to have her Jim. It takes great cooperation to accomplish the adventures you have with your family. I love Wesley he is a special soul, and Hudson is a genuine young man. I am surprised to see Hudson walk so well at such a young age. . Future explorer of the great outdoors!

I used to have to travel 5 1/2 hours with 2 children by myself !!! Load the car up the night before and then on the road to another STATE by myself !!! When we stopped it was for gas or changing diapers but getting food into them and EXERCISE for them also !!! It was rough sometimes I had flats on the road or something would go wrong with the car BUT I DID IT !!! I made a purse for my first born to have things in it for her to play with in the car ONLY THERE !!! Treasure BOX was son's thing with small cars or trucks for him with things for his AGE but not to go down his throat !!! If YOU LOVE YOUR CHILDREN with ALL your HEART YOU KEEP them close to you YOU WATCH THEM LIKE A HAWK !!! Love how JIMBO AND TORI TAKE CARE OF THE CHILDREN !!! Weslyn is HAPPY SMILING AND SAME WITH HUDSON !!! I wish to GOD I COULD go back in time to be with my Children for a weekend like this again !!!

Well you did it.. well done. This is true quality time with your children. My husband and I did the same with every adventure we had we took the children all three of them with. They invited a few friends over one evening and shared many of our exciting experiences that we had with them and with much laughter and bantering. They all in their 50s now and that’s the loving bond you want to leave them with. You need an award for the challenges you had. Advise.. Do not let your guard down not even for a minute. Stay safe you keep us all inspired. ❤

I am very impressed with your love and opportunity you give to your children to experience the outdoors, although uncommon perhaps, but brings such obvious joy to them. It is hard to put a measuare on your experience given that you have been doing outdoor adventures probably since you were walking as well with an outdoor family of your own, Jim. Tori excels in the outdoors and I've keenly watched in appreciation for her loving care and concern for the children yet allowing them to experience it under her unwavering eye. You are both incredible people, intelligent, skilled and sharing something with the public that is also rather uncommon to see. Your children will grow in skill and confidence, not to mention that ever watching pet, North. I know huskies Jim...they are protective and love their people! North keeps track of you more than you may realize, especially the two little ones! I certainly miss my paddling days and actually you reinvigorate my memories, such that I might just get back to it this spring!

Man I have been there before. Red headed summer time heat exhaustion it’s a real thing. This dude is a warrior tho damn. I’m shocked he was able to keep going I always had to sleep till at least the sun went down. As soon as his beautiful wife said he doesn’t know what’s going on a hart attack or something. It took me back to 2006 1st day canoe trip down vermilion river. Just barely made to shore. Sleeping on rocks didn’t even bother me. Man be safe u guys you have a beautiful family and good luck on ur adventures u all sure seem like ur living life the way it should be lived.
I've been watching you guys from DAY 1, I absolutely love you all so very much! You both are wonderful parents 🥰 ...Tori you are such a beautiful person inside and out. @@JimBairdAdventurer I'm 74 now here in northern Minnesota and I recall many times dragging a canoe through the brush on the way to that special secret lake that probably has brook trout in it. Now I drive to the put in and when I get home I watch you and your brother dragging canoes through the brush. 😉 Big hugs from curt on the River. .

Our family loves camping and boating as well but lost my husband in an automobile accident and my son had to have his leg amputated it has seemed to have totally altered my life drastically but I love watching you and hubby and it gives me so much joy and makes my day! Keep your boys by your side on these happy adventures for me and my boys that was the happiest times of our life’s!❤❤❤❤

North is such a good dog, I feel you didn't show case his talents/abilities as much in this video. I believe people that have following you for this long of time would like to see more exposure of north and his stages of growth, he is more than a winter hauling dog... he has became a member of the crew and you should showcase him as much.

I'm watching the part with the geese flying overhead. I live on the Kankakee River in Illinois, the geese never leave and fly south in the winter and north in the summer. They stay all year long and it's becoming a problem. They poop all over our beautiful park and it can't be used because of it. Many generations of geese now in our area who have no idea they are supposed to migrate. When the river freezes in the winter the dam area stays open because of the moving water and I would venture to say we then have well over a thousand geese here. I think in the near future there will be more geese than the population of my small town. Sadly I used to like geese but these days not so much. Love your videos, I too took my kids camping and boating when they were young, it's a huge amount of work and I applaud you and Torie for taking this on.
I saw that earlier comment! I work for Child Protective Services and I feel safer with Tori and Jim anywhere compared to the classroom! I admire your wholesome life! I grew up in the Berkshire mountains, 45 minutes drive to the nearest highway. I grew up skiing, camping and fishing and canoeing. My happy place!!

Just recently discovered youtube on my new smart tv. youtube presented me with your vids and have been watching them and I am totally amazed! But I cannot leave comments on the TV, so here I am on my laptop. This trip on the French brings back fond memories from the early 90's when my newly acquired step son and I did basically the same trip in a 16 ft Grumman. Aluminum was "in" in those days. Warms my heart. I love canoeing and have memories of whacky trips like the weekend trip down the Johns from Cartier to Espanola Bay on Lake Agnew, talk about no sleep and a lot of lining and rocks! I am very impressed with your love and opportunity you give to your children to experience the outdoors, although uncommon perhaps, but brings such obvious joy to them. It is hard to put a measuare on your experience given that you have been doing outdoor adventures probably since you were walking as well with an outdoor family of your own, Jim. Tori excels in the outdoors and I've keenly watched in appreciation for her loving care and concern for the children yet allowing them to experience it under her unwavering eye. You are both incredible people, intelligent, skilled and sharing something with the public that is also rather uncommon to see. Your children will grow in skill and confidence, not to mention that ever watching pet, North. I know huskies Jim...they are protective and love their people! North keeps track of you more than you may realize, especially the two little ones! I certainly miss my paddling days and actually you reinvigorate my memories, such that I might just get back to it this spring!

Man I have been there before. Red headed summer time heat exhaustion it’s a real thing. This dude is a warrior tho damn. I’m shocked he was able to keep going I always had to sleep till at least the sun went down. As soon as his beautiful wife said he doesn’t know what’s going on a hart attack or something. It took me back to 2006 1st day canoe trip down vermilion river. Just barely made to shore. Sleeping on rocks didn’t even bother me. Man be safe u guys you have a beautiful family and good luck on ur adventures u all sure seem like ur living life the way it should be lived.

Now I drive to the put in and when I get home I watch you and your brother dragging canoes through the brush. 😉

Tori you are a strong 💪 AWESOME Super mom! I can relate my son was born with SpinaBifada all the challenges that go along with having a child with special needs you make it seem so easy! Our family loves camping and boating as well but lost my husband in an automobile accident and my son had to have his leg amputated it has seemed to have totally altered my life drastically but I love watching you and hubby and it gives me so much joy and makes my day! Keep your boys by your side on these happy adventures for me and my boys that was the happiest times of our life’s!❤❤❤❤

North is such a good dog, I feel you didn't show case his talents/abilities as much in this video. I believe people that have following you for this long of time would like to see more exposure of north and his stages of growth, he is more than a winter hauling dog... he has became a member of the crew and you should showcase him as much.

I'm watching the part with the geese flying overhead. I live on the Kankakee River in Illinois, the geese never leave and fly south in the winter and north in the summer. They stay all year long and it's becoming a problem. They poop all over our beautiful park and it can't be used because of it. Many generations of geese now in our area who have no idea they are supposed to migrate. When the river freezes in the winter the dam area stays open because of the moving water and I would venture to say we then have well over a thousand geese here. I think in the near future there will be more geese than the population of my small town. Sadly I used to like geese but these days not so much. Love your videos, I too took my kids camping and boating when they were young, it's a huge amount of work and I applaud you and Torie for taking this on.

I grew up in the Berkshire mountains, 45 minutes drive to the nearest highway. I grew up skiing, camping and fishing and canoeing. My happy place!!

Just recently discovered youtube on my new smart tv. youtube presented me with your vids and have been watching them and I am totally amazed! But I cannot leave comments on the TV, so here I am on my laptop. This trip on the French brings back fond memories from the early 90's when my newly acquired step son and I did basically the same trip in a 16 ft Grumman. Aluminum was "in" in those days. Warms my heart. I love canoeing and have memories of whacky trips like the weekend trip down the Johns from Cartier to Espanola Bay on Lake Agnew, talk about no sleep and a lot of lining and rocks! It takes a lot of guts, courage, knowledge, planning, and confidence in your habilitéis to manage eventualities in your canoe, to keep yourselves, and your children safe, and secure under those rainy weather conditions, and the river rapids.
