love the road flares thing, especially when that reveal goes back to the "clearly you are the smart one" comment directed to the guy ... who hadn't just shown his flare belt.
I'd also add - when the road-flare dragon says "she didn't seem that innocent" and Raylan started to advance toward him at 2:57 - the look on Raylan's face communicated a remarkable amount of still, controlled rage.
Theres is no shortage of options in this series, but _Dynamite and Road Flares_ is my favorite scene. A close second is _Sorry about your table cloth._
Really liked the silent exchange between Raylan and the bank guard. As with so many other things, that little snot was almost certainly wrong about "grandpa." He kept his cool, kept his hand on his gun but didn't draw. Obviously had experience, probably an ex-cop.
I don't know how long Tim has been acting but I do know all his work, sweat, blood and tears culminated in a puddle and the character Raylan Givens was born from it!
Raylan got justice for Winona. Not Natalie. Natalie is the actress. Winona is the character. Just like Raylan is the character, played by Timothy! Smart ones
One thing I like about these episodes is that Raylan's intentions aren't as aligned with the spirit of the law as other times he helps people. He's doing this because he loves Winona. We never really see Raylan exercising much emotion but when it comes to Winona, all normalcy goes out the window.
"Does she taste as good as she looks?" The way Raylan's face HARDENS after her hears that, I started thinking, "His duty to the badge he's wearing is the ONLY reason you MIGHT get out of this bank alive....because if I heard you talk that way about a woman I cared about, I will guaran-fecking-TEE they'd never find your body....IN ONE PLACE." (edit: typo)
@@JM-db8ez Right, a few dumbs**t words....after groping her and kicking her. A woman who was the mother of his child. I don't know that Olyphant is necessarily going to win any major (proper) acting awards over say Daniel Day Lewis etc. But he is PERFECT for Raylan. And he's absolutely AWESOME through every series of Justified.
Raylan was great as always, but you have to give credit to the guy wearing the road flares for his acting skills in this scene. That over-confident chuckle when he showed Rayland the road flares was great.
Also, I love how good Timothy is at playing a very angry man just trying to keep his patience. 3:00 you can see him slipping from trying to be patient into wanting to put a bullet in this guy.
It's amusing that during the entire confrontation, the guard has his hand on his gun, but never pulls, Raylan doesn't appear to even put his hand on his gun( but punches with his left, keeping his gun hand near to his weapon), but *after* they're subdued, the two detectives come in with their service weapons drawn, looking like they are advancing into an active shooting.
what's scary about this is this.....I was just thinking about this scene which I watched....at least two years ago and now today, YT has it in my suggesteds. Big Brother is real

Olyphant is what I like to call an “under actor” for this part.
So slick and cool, just made this character pop!

Note to self: never use road flares as a substitute for explosives.
Especially since if you activate them strapped to your body, the flares will HURT a lot; you won’t feel anything with the dynamite.
