That was literally the best game awards to be at. I got 15 dollar tickets to there and I took my buddy. That night was so hype. Despite red dead 2 winning all the awards the super smash announcement and this was so dope. Will never forget it.

because those game companies want to play it safe for children cuz they know that there audience are for children and not to mention how age restrictions are more strict now than it was back then games like mk or even gta keep the same adult tone throughout cuz that is the soul element of what makes there special and what attracts so many people to it no one will play a MK game that doesn't have blood and no know would want to play a gta game that doesn't have swearing in it
One of the core elements of Mortal Kombat IS the violence, and with such a large fan base that consistently buy the games, they are able to keep going while M Rated. With other games it’s not the focus, and in most cases, have a smaller fan base.
Remember when everyone was mad because rap music was being played in the background and not heavy metal😂

This was more hilarious than exciting, For real though, Who thought this was a good song choice for this game? they couldn't get Disturbed, Korn or any metal band to come and make debut music for this reveal?! They could had pick a better song. Instead of spilling guts, I was in my chair laughing mines out.

@Aluminum back then we didn't had covid which i believe that the team was very unmotivated during development of MK1 so the core gameplay hasn't changed. It's downgraded. They removed Krushing Blows, maybe Flawless Block, and the Kameo Fighters is basically Tekken Tag Tournament. I get it you need to refresh things up but instead they should have done something else imo.
They series peaked with MK11 now it's the same game with enhancement of the current gen such as seamless transition to the game without loading screens.
