I'm not sure why anyone would shame you. You have to look out for your best interest. I hope the best for you. Your vlog about your research course encouraged me. I didn't do well on my midterm but managed to earn an A in the course. I also learned a lot about research, and I'm encouraged to pursue a doctorate. I have one more course and my capstone for my MA TESOL degree.

You might like Folse's Keys to Teaching Grammar to English Learners. This is the text we used in my ESL Grammar course this semester. It covers a lot of what you mentioned in this video. It helps you understand the "why" in grammar because it's designed to explain grammar to second language learners; it's thorough.
