@@matt-og5bw I agree my friend. Movies can teach us so much. They can teach us lessons and show us things and help us understand that we should enjoy life and get the most out of it while we are here.
This is basically my grandfather all over. Hardest man I have ever known or seen, fighter, never give in, never fail, no surrender. Has been through hell and back again, multiple usually fatal illnesses that would have killed a normal man. Old skool fighter, coal mine worker and all out rock solid as you'd expect. Still he battles on. Never cries. Never looses weakness, even at 80 years of age. He's my absolutele hero. My grandfather and my best friend in one. Hes taught me everything I know, everything. The one thing he has taught me is - no fear, no surrender, never give in. Fail isnt an option. And believe me what I go through every day being Bipolar with extreme depression - his words are the only thing keeping me alive.
Man this film reminds exactly of my grandfather too. The scene especially fits so well with the house in my village in Russia where my grandfather lived and died after 1 year when he lost his wife my grandmother. I can't hold my tears everytime I watch this film and when this scenes comes in with the music I just close my eyes and try not to burst from tears
I'll never understand why this awesome film didn't get way more recognition or attention than it did. It's such a brilliant movie and Liam Neeson did an outstanding job in this. This scene still gives me chills and here it is 2020. Lol 👌👍😁
Amen. Such a beautiful film that is sad and haunting yet inspires hope and the joy of living. A true, underrated masterpiece. It is more than just another survival/action film. So much more.
Bc people aren’t very deep with there thoughts, a lot of people wanted a cut and dry wolf survival movie. And got an emotional rollercoaster questioning faith in god, and a whole bunch of other big life questions and lessons. The average movie consumer doesn’t appreciate that.
I am a huge Frank Grillo fan as well as Liam and they both give arguably the best performances they ever have given in this beautiful masterpiece of a film.
Yeah, it’s hysterical watching women review it…. Reminds me of a bill burr joke relating women’s advice being as useless as bill burr describing what pregnancy feels like. 😂
it became one of my favorite movies of all time. i know wolves arent like this. but because of everything behind this film....the performances....joe......everything.....it is a great fuckin movie.
***** My dad really wanted to watch it with me so I put it off for a while. But he eventually convinced me and glad i watched it it was a great experience. And what do you mean wolves aren't like that??
and death. it is about death. and that is the human obsession. even that andes movie didnt come close to the intensity of this. i know it's coming....i dont give a fuck when it does....but i just want a normal life....as to we all.....and tyranny......its fucking everything up so it looks like we gotta fight a battle soon. so always be ready. be strong and fucking get ready.
I watched this film with my dad and it was nothing but silence through the whole film. Like usually he laughs or tells me a fact about the movie but not this one. I think this film is a film you don’t question or laugh at, you listen, you watch and even shed a tear. Absolutely brilliant and a masterpiece of a film.
I watched it for the second time with my son (15 year old).. utter silence the whole movie. Once the movie ended, we looked at each other .. deep gaze. I knew he understood it wasnt about the wolves at all.
It really makes you grateful to be alive. It also shows you that sometimes you make be in a dark and bleak situation yet there is still some kind of beauty and comfort in it.
I just saw this for The first time , what a film , these movie shoots direct on the soul , soo many great details , The poem And The resemblance of burrying The wallets And letting The past behind you , The ability to overcome our inner demons and push through The edge of fear , this movie actually can helps you in a higher level (for me) im glad that i saw this today
I agree. Watch this with the director commentary if you can. Even when making this film they realized it was going to be somethng very special and not just another survival film.
When I watch this I think about my dad! He Passed away in 2021, I was 21 at the time. I remember I was in church when my Mom called me about the news, (my mom and dad were seperate and never married, so that makes me a bastard child) he lived up north about 4-5 hours away, so I never got to see him as often as I wouldve liked too; due to school and work. Whenever Im driving on the highway or listening to country music; or even being surrounded by forest and wild life I think about him. The only thing I said when I heard the news was, "thank you God for giving me a father that took care of me the best he could, who taught me about right and wrong, good and evil" God-bless!
Good Lord I still love this movie. It's so hard to believe it didn't get more praise than it did. It's one of my all time favorites. This scene still gives me chills when I watch it. As soon as the piano hits it's first note I get goose bump. 🔥👍💪

Liam’s voice totally makes this scene as well. I’ve always thought Liam’s voice is like Mike Rowe’s. You could just listen to it tell a story all day. I sat next to him on a flight out of Europe. I literally tried not to bother him but he’s Liam Neeson The Brian Mills. We had a free conversations over a drink and I thanked him for his work and that’s was the most of it. But he was a nice guy. I didn’t wanna do the fan thing and ask for a photo since I work in music I always was told it’s unprofessional. But was pretty awesome to talk to him. This is one of my fav movies especially the soundtrack.
One of the best scenes in this movie. It touches the human spirit. Our flaws, our goodness. They’re sitting there freezing and fighting to stay alive and that speech touched them as if would anyone
My father used to beat me. He was a poor helpless man. I ran from home and joined military. I watched this movie in winter while deployed in a warzone. Its been 15 years since. I worked hard. Everyday. I was alone. I used to play the theme music from this movie and remember these lines. I never gave up. I struggled through it all and faced it all. I never gave up. I now have a beautiful wife and two wonderful kids. I work 2 jobs and am giving my kids a good life. This movie helped me stay strong in my worst times
I honestly fucking love that they decried to use The City Surf for the music prominently in this movie. Likely not at all the case, but it almost feels like the script writer had heard the piece in Ink or somewhere and listened/had it in mind a lot during the film-it just appears so prominently in addition to fitting beautifully.

I always (somehow) figured, that it is ''Once more into the fray. Live OR die upon this day,.. Live - OR die - upon this day..'' Liam Neeson is a legend 👏 🙌
Bradley Cooper was originally supposed to play this role. He’d have been ok but this movie is so much more memorable because of Neeson’s performance
