As a very big Stevie fan This album for me was the most challenging to digest especially as a kid. He used vibrational sounds and percussion that sonically symbolizes photosynthesis and all of the elements that affect plants …. Pure Genius. You guys made it come alive in a different way. Thank you for this amazing experience. 🙏🏽
How nu deco music is made Step 1 start with great music Step 2 add a composer who understands great music Step 3 add talented musicians who love great music Step 4 let that love flow through an instrument and into peoples souls
Absolutely a great great great work and rendition of a XX century's masterpiece by Steve Wonder, often underrated or unfortunately forgotten. The fact of an orchestra playing Steve opera (that's what it is!) without lyrics and voices just reminds everyone of his unlimited skills as a composer, or better COMPOSER . This music alone deserves to represent the human race when meeting the rest of the Universe and it's a good example of the high power carried in each note and chords when they fit so well one into another. I have Steve LP since '79 and always hoped to hear a instrumental version live one day. Today I was lucky and totally satisfied, therefore here's my sincere congratulations to all members and director, and to anyone who cared to transcript the whole opera for any sigle instrument with excellent results. THANK YOU!
I stumbled upon this a few months ago and was in tears as I cranked up my sound system and realized a lifelong dream to hear this album orchestrated by someone who really appreciated one of Stevie Wonder's greatest albums. Send One Your Love was the only song I hoped to hear. Come Back As A Flower was so close to the album version I fell to my knees in this mindblowing experience. I certainly hope Stevie heard this. Race Babbling was also a smart choice to add to this set and Tree was amazing.
Bought the album as a young man. The green record cover was scratch and sniff. You scratched the surface with your nail and got the smell of flowers. Not joking.
@@MCJMFP I remember when it came out and bits were previewed on the radio. Like nothing he'd done before. Perhaps too 'out there' for most, as I rarely hear people talk about that album. I believe, if I remember correctly, that the record company gave him unlimited time, money and creative control on this one. My guess is that afterwards they pulled in the reigns, 'persuading' him to be more commercial. Money talks! Have to say, the sound production was superb.
When I first came by this, i was so moved to think someone had gone to this length. One of Stevie Wonders most underrated masterpieces. I am forever grateful for Stevie Wonder & thank you for this wonderful tribute to the maestro💞🙏 You have done a beautiful job.
I enjoyed Stevie's album 40 years ago and to find it now dignified by this grand production is so marvelous. It brings back memories of that time of my life and provokes tears of joy. You guys are amazing! The cinematography and sound quality are also amazing. I mean like, Wow!
Phenomenal! Thank you! I'm so glad I found this! I've listened to the album 100 times, but I'm looking forward to seeing the documentary for the first time next week at the Cleveland Cinematheque....
GREAT FUCKIN JOB!!! This rendition is so alive and resonant and contemporary, yet pays SUCH a darling tribute -- rhythmically, inwardly, spiritually -- to the original composer of this piece. Who is STILL WITH US, THANK GOD. Great piece, you guys!! Maybe the entire album next time??? God bless you. 🎧🙏🎶💕🔥🎭✏
There’s nothing better than feeling like you’ve willed something into existence. Thank you for doing such an incredible job of orchestrating and documenting one of stevie’s overlooked masterpieces
