    A small suggestion for these tutorials is to put a stress-o-meter at the end of your builds to see how much SU I will need for these builds just to make sure I have enough SU before I build these builds in my survival world

    I think you've got a better hang of threshold switches than you think. They're really useful - if you only had one threshold they'd be more straight-forward, but you'd get the issue where they'd rapidly turn on & off when they hit the threshold. eg, use one quartz, the farm turns on, replaces that one, and the farm turns off - over and over. Which is laggy as hell. So moving 'back on' to a second threshold lets you separate on & off by a comfortable amount so the factory can stay on or stay off for longer.

    just a few tiny mentions that might confuse people/did confuse me
    1. the block you call gearshift on the cobble farm actually is a second clutch used
    2. the second threshold (earlier versions stockpile) switch has to have the signal inverted for it to lock the quartz from being spewed out. In the tutorial it works because the original farm already filled up
    3. the listed smart chutes are not used and don't have a purpose? (they are on the front of the big item vault in the first shown finished design though are not mentioned in the second, built one)
    4. only one cauldron is used, the material list shows 2
    this is just ment to correct slight errors during the tutorial. I'm a big fan of your tutorial for these farms and currently use them in the modpack with create i'm playing, so i hope to see maybe a few more of these :)

      @skeej_inc  Год назад +14

      Yep definitely some mistakes i noticed after uploading too
      1)i always mistake the gearshift and clutch, even editing it slipped through
      2)im still learning the threshold switches so im not entirely sure how they work
      3) the smart chutes were there by mistake as they were there from when i was testing the thresholds and used a creative crate to fill up the vault
      4) the second cauldron was also a mistake, and not meant to be there, as i moved the quartz output after id saved the schematic which was another thing i missed
      Definitely thanks for pointing these out, it was quite late when i recorded this one, and i think a few more things than normal slipped through the cracks and i wasnt as meticulous with the editing and recording as usual.

  • @my2cents930
    @my2cents930 Год назад +3

    Thanks Skeej, this is the second time I built this. As you mentioned, if you get to the back side and things run in the wrong direction, that is an easy fix. What is not easy is everything else from the vertical belt on. That belt takes some work to connect, and then the small cobble generator and soul sand washer tries to run backwards. I know enough about create I was able to fix it no problem, but an unexperienced player will seriously have problems if that happens. I still can't figure what caused the problem. With an extra gearbox here and there it's an easy fix though. Thanks again! Love the contraption and all the recourses it creates practically for free, after the cost of building it of course. I did connect it to your Unbreakable Steam Engine. Love that design as well. Keep it coming.

    I actually built this, now time for me to see how to reach the equivalent of a creative motor with just water wheels. Edit: Found out a large water wheel is worth 4 water wheels, and as a comment mentioned, it takes 58 large water wheels, so multiply 4 by 58 and I got 232 water wheels, aka, I am going to need to make a lot of progress in my survival world for an andesite farm, and 232 water wheels requires 1856 planks, and considering you need a shaft, which requires 2 andesite alloys for 8, it would be 232 shafts, every 8 shafts is 2 alloys, so divide 2 by 8 to get .25 and multiply 232, the shaft amount, by .25, being the amount of alloys per shaft, which leads to 58 alloys, or in simplicity, mine lots of trees, get lots of zinc and andesite. Also, have a sub

    For anyone having the problem with the sand not turning to soul sand/soul sand not being absorbed in by the funnel to the vault, I made it work by removing the soul campfire, placing a soul sand instead of the floor block the campfire was on and lighting said soul sand on fire. next I put an extra encased fan behind the soulfire pointing towards the fan in the video. This ended up making me get quartz and nuggets in the vault. Might have to use a gearbox or two to make the new fan blow outwards. Unsure if this is a long term solution, some sand seems to be stock at the first fan which means an eventual build up of hovering sand taking fps possiby.
