D40X, D60,D80,D200,D3000.. all with this beautiful CCD sensor... CCD is something special.. 50mm 1.8 , 35mm f2.0 , 85mm 1.8 on it and : shine 😀😀😀😀😀 Still have the D200 , and it will never go !
Running with a D40, D5000, and a D7200. Each has their own good qualities and bad points but the small D40 takes photos of excellent quality that need minimal editing compared to the D5000 and the D7200 and I've found that people love the results from the D40 as well. Got the D40 in 2008 new as a kit and it is still going strong. An excellent Nikon.
Hi, the Nikon D40X was my first ever digital camera! And, although I’ve since moved on to other digital cameras, I still have and love my D40X, especially the colours I get from the CCD sensor. Enjoyed this video and have subscribed to your channel. 😊
Hi Carmine. I bought the NIkon D40X Kit, with a 18-55 kit lens in it's original box with all the contents for £60.00 this week. It is in great condition with a shutter count of just over 8000. It is a nice size to walk around with. I changed the kit lens for a DX 35mm f1.8 and will have a nice summer with set this simple set up. Another good review from you on this little gem of a camera. Enjoy your weekend and kind regards from London.
I was about to abandon my D40X and purchase a new DSLR. After learning more about the camera (getting it out of auto mode), I'm glad to stick with it and learn more about photography and the capabilities of this great camera. I've had it about 15 years and had no idea it has a CCD sensor. Thanks for the tips about the diffuser and the G lens.
Nice review! I have the D40 (2 camera bodies, actually) Maybe the 200 ISO and 6 mp are inferior but the colors are very much the same than the 40x and I love them. Super fun to shoot with and wonderful pictures even in 2024 with my 50 mm 1.8 . I have more recent cameras from Canon but the D40 is my favorite.
Please I have a question. Can I use Nikon DX Nikkor AF-S 55-200mm 1:4.5.6G ED VR on my Nikon d40x ? My problem is the DX format, if it compatible with Nikon d40x. Thank you😊 I will be waiting
It is a very nice and informative video. Thank you. I like to buy a D40 or D40x. Which option is better? Some say the 6 mp sensor is better because of the bigger pixel size. Is the 35mm 1.8 G DX a good standard prime lens for the D40 or is there a better option?
I would recommend the Nikon D40x because... Nikon D40X Key Specs 10MP - APS-C CCD film like Sensor ISO 100 - 1600 ( expands to 3200) Nikon F Mount 2.50" Fixed Type Screen Optical (pentamirror) viewfinder 3.0fps continuous shooting
@@CarmineTavernaPhotography Thank you very much for your valued advice. Then I will go for the D40x and a 35mm 1.8 DX lens. I like to have a small, versatile and light combination ...
Hi! I own this same Nikon model which I bought about 8 years ago from a coworker. It came with the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II lens. What applications are best for this lens and what would be a great addition for less than $250, to enjoy taking pictures of landscapes and some bird and plant macros? I suscribed to your channel and I'm motivated to take more serious on this art starting this summer. Thanks in advance!
Which camera gives the beautiful ccd colours that other people who use the d40 rave about on youtube? Is there a different sensor in the D40X than in the D40? Does this D40x have the same special colour quality that the d40 has? Is there a special quality to the D40 because it was only 6mp?
The film like quality of the d40 {6mp} and d40x {10mp} are very similar, however read this from my friend cameradecision.com/compare/Nikon-D40-vs-Nikon-D40X

Hi mate, so glad to have found you on YT. Nikon D40X was my 1st DSLR bought in 2007. At the time I got the almost forgotten 18-135mm (no VR) with it. But just recently I've pickup it again and now shoot with the Nikkor AF-S 35mm f1.8. Of course the picture quality increased dramatically. I wonder what's your opinion on the 35mm vs this 24-85mm!? PS: I considering selling the old 18-135mm for this 24-85mm.
The Nikon D40X has a Nikon F mount with AF Coupling and AF Contacts Type G or D AF NIKKOR. The D40X can work with all Nikon Nikkor lenses ever made, including non-AI, AI, AI-S, AF, AF-D, AF-S, and DX. However, it will only auto focus with AF-S lenses. This is because the D40X doesn't have an internal focus motor and won't auto focus with old-style screw-drive autofocus (AF) lenses
@@CarmineTavernaPhotography oh waouw! Thank you so much for taking your time to explain this to me. I will certainly copy this in a small book for future use. Thank you so much.

I love how you mix in images randomly every minute or so. Wonderful. Keeps it fun.
