Black and White or Color beautiful images (at 3 f.p.s.)for $56- $80 (used price) Nikon D40x (when introduced in 2007 it sold for $730.) the 10.2mp aps-c camera (nice 100 ISO SPEED) PS..it's the same ccd sensor in the Nikon D80 DSLR.
The Nikkor Lens used in this video, is the 24-85mm G vr ($160 used)

And as always, I highly recommend the $7 purchase of a pop-up flash diffuser.
*History of CCD Sensors;
The CCD was invented in 1969 at Bell Labs by Willard Boyle and George Smith. Since that CCD was sensitive to light it was used as image sensor for video and TV cameras. It could also be used as a memory device or analogue signal delay since it's principally a kind of analogue shift-register circuit.

Hi Carmine. I bought the NIkon D40X Kit, with a 18-55 kit lens in it's original box with all the contents for £60.00 this week. It is in great condition with a shutter count of just over 8000. It is a nice size to walk around with. I changed the kit lens for a DX 35mm f1.8 and will have a nice summer with set this simple set up. Another good review from you on this little gem of a camera. Which camera gives the beautiful ccd colours that other people who use the d40 rave about on youtube? Is there a different sensor in the D40X than in the D40? Does this D40x have the same special colour quality that the d40 has? Is there a special quality to the D40 because it was only 6mp?

Hi! I own this same Nikon model which I bought about 8 years ago from a coworker. It came with the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II lens. What applications are best for this lens and what would be a great addition for less than $250, to enjoy taking pictures of landscapes and some bird and plant macros? The Nikon D40X has a Nikon F mount with AF Coupling and AF Contacts Type G or D AF NIKKOR. The D40X can work with all Nikon Nikkor lenses ever made, including non-AI, AI, AI-S, AF, AF-D, AF-S, and DX. However, it will only auto focus with AF-S lenses. This is because the D40X doesn't have an internal focus motor and won't auto focus with old-style screw-drive autofocus (AF) lenses

Hi mate, so glad to have found you on YT. Nikon D40X was my 1st DSLR bought in 2007. At the time I got the almost forgotten 18-135mm (no VR) with it. But just recently I've pickup it again and now shoot with the Nikkor AF-S 35mm f1.8. Of course the picture quality increased dramatically. I wonder what's your opinion on the 35mm vs this 24-85mm!?
PS: I considering selling the old 18-135mm for this 24-85mm.
Your Prime lens, the Nikkor AF-S 35mm f1.8 is some of Nikon's best glass :)
