Looking good dude. Looks like you were getting a good flow out there. That jump into the inside rut (7:25) is clean. I feel you on gripping with your knees... im also 6'3 so I run into the same issues you were talking about lol. A side note, with winter coming, i think you should do a review on your impressions with the yamaha. Also compare the pros and cons to your 150sx (going two stroke to four stroke) just a suggestion if content slows due to the weather. Im also biased because i got a 150sx and i sometimes get FOMO about a 250 four stroke lol
Hey thank you dude! Being tall feels like a disadvantage when it comes to MX doesn't it? I like your video idea for sure I need to do that. Would you prefer a video talking about the transition from 2 stroke to 4 stroke or two separate videos doing detailed reviews of both my 150sx and yz250f with pros/cons of each?
@DerekHallman yeah I feel like it's harder to stay in the proper riding position personally. I have a set of renthal 997 bars that are a high bend plus a tall seat to make the 150sx cockpit a bit better for my height. Still can't use my knees to grip the bike tho lol. Me personally, I'd like to see your impressions of the yamaha and then compare the transition to it from your 150sx. In terms of handling, power, ease of riding, maybe stuff like that. Personally, I love 2 strokes and don't have any modern 4 stroke race bikes. However, I always have this feeling like if I were to hop on a modern 250f, that I would be a decent amount faster and more consistent. Mostly due to them being easier to ride (besides the heavier weight). Idk if you feel that way going from the 150sx to the 250f, but that's something I think would be very interesting to hear your impressions on. I think there's alot of guys riding 2 strokes that haven't got to try a 4 stroke. I think the opposite is also true. There's alot of people that ride 4 strokes that never rode a 2 stroke. You have both and they are both really good bikes, so your insight and opinion would be valuable in my opinion 👍
@DerekHallman also, I've heard Kris Keefer mention works connection has some peg mounts that drops the pegs and bring them back and it makes the yamaha cockpit feel less cramped up. Being as tall as you are, I think that would be a worthy upgrade.
Bruh when u fall of the bike like that and the throttle gets stuck just go straight for the kill switch, the bike can bloody run away on ya and kill switch way quicker
You're looking a lot smoother man! I love how stoked you get for your buddies and other riders haha. It's contagious! Really need to start recording more when I ride, but I always feel awkward filming even though I've been riding for well over a decade. How'd you get comfortable with it?
Thanks for the nice comment man! Seems like you rip pretty good you should definitely record more often. Not only for the tube, but for great memories to look back on when we're old as shit and can't ride anymore haha. Slap that camera on and go about your riding day like normal. I probably sound crazy out there constantly talking to myself but I don't give a crap what anyone thinks of me. Stay focused on good times and living life while we got it 🤘🏼
On my personal helmet in the past I used the ProShot mount but now I JB welded a gopro mount to the mouth piece of my helmet. On my friends' helmets I use the dango.
Not sure where you’re exactly located around but If you’re ever interested in driving to Maryland there’s a track called the promised land. Amazing track with people who truly care about the track and the sport
@@andrewwilson9130 Oh really haha. I haven't really riden many other bikes only an old 05 ktm 125sx and 06 kx250f so the newer bike probably would feel alot more comfortable anyway but yea i really enjoyed the shape of it. I would love to try a newer ktm 250f and kx250f to see what they're like tho or maybe even a crf250r
@@calebmcintyre3330 gotcha, I don't like how wide the yamaha was because how short I am. It was hard to get my leg up lol. I had a 22 Honda crf250r, the rider triangle (foot pegs to seat to handle bars) felt really good. But the front end was terrible, it would get head shake, and just wasn't stable at all. I'm now looking to get a 22 ktm 250, because I've heard they're better then the new gen ktms...
Look into some offset drop pegs like what Jeff walker runs and a lot of other tall riders. Pretty sure they’re lower and further back to allow you to feel less cramped in the cockpit area and really be able to squeeze with your knees and not your shins 😂
I have the works connection lower foot peg mounts and a taller seat. They both helped a lot but still only so much you can do when you're 6'3 with a size 12 mx boot 😭 Just need to squeeze harder with my calves haha
@@DerekHallman I just recently got back into riding after 10 years and basically starting from scratch. Realized how important squeezing the bike with the knees was and how much it helped with arm pump. I had bruises on the insides of my knees after the first few rides 😂
@@KyleMotos I highly reccomend grabbing a set of knee pads dude! I had the same issue years ago. I use the EVS TP199 pads. No more sore knees and honestly they help me squeeze the bike better.
Jealous of your weather. It's the worst when you drop the bike with the throttle wide open and can't shutoff the bike. On KTM's, the start and kill switch are both on the throttle side.
Read on, riding tips follow my opening remarks... Great video man! My bike (now named "Yamagoofy") is super pissed off at me, as I put it into winter storage mode in late October....only to have out weather up here hold back until early last week with our first snow....missed out on a lot of good riding days. (Last year at first week of Nov. we had six inches of snow and temps at zero.) Since I won't make it to So Cali this winter (money troubles) I guess I'll have to buy the brat some new plastics and more race fuel so he won't kick my butt again. Sitting down on jump landings is a bad idea, one miscue and you can break your tailbone, or your back. Stand and grip somewhat loosely with your legs, so you and the bike can both "give" with the landing. Corners: You should ALWAYS be cornering with your inside leg forward, DO NOT dab your foot, and apply weight to the outside peg by shifting your body slightly to the outside. That will plant the bike into the rut. Enter at the same speed you want to exit, as trying to speed up in a corner makes the bike want to stand up and drive out of the rut. Accelerate as you begin to lever the bike upright at the exit. By gripping the bike with both legs it cannot respond to the chop, and you are just wearing yourself out faster. LOL at the slower is better comment. No such thing in racing.

Since you’re taller if you exaggerate pointing your toes inward when standing, it’ll help a lot.
Ok I'll give that a shot thanks
Dude just hit the kill switch😭
Idk wtf was I doing 😭
So many little things went wrong haha I need to go back and work on those ruts too.
we gotta ride soon bro!
