    These are amazing and beautiful women who need to be heard more often in the media. It's disgraceful how underrepresented black women are in the media.

    Aside from the SJW comment. This was a very good story! These ladies were aware of what was going on outside in the world, but kept their minds focused on their art and to it's perfection in their dances.

      @@blackout07blue I am NOT playing the victim. I am also white. I am interested in the history. I grew up in New Jersey and had mixed race around all my life. Neighbors, friends, classmates, etc. I was not even aware of all that was going on as far as segregation, etc. At age 74, I am just learning of many things. So I am being serious and not sarcastic. Sorry if you were offended.

      I am from NJ as well. Where have you been? The Dance Theater of Harlem and Alvin Ailey perform all over NJ, especially in Red Bank and Newark.
      The arts are open to all. Just buy a ticket!!

      People care. Achieving recognition as a ballet dancer is huge. The American Ballet is the gold standard. The fact that Black folks created their own ballet companies changed the game opening up more opportunities for dancers of every ethnicity.
      You probably would not understand because clearly you have two left feet and half a brain!
