  • An electric Zero Motorcycle recently seen (at 0:20) attending to emergency calls alongside conventional ambulance vehicles of the London Ambulance Service, such as the BMW R1200 seen at 0:11.
The Zero Motorcycle SR/S has recently been acquired by the London Ambulance Service alongside other electric vehicles, such as the Mustang Mach-E, as a rapid response unit to attend emergency calls. The service has typically used police-spec BMW R1200s for the past 5 years to quickly bring a paramedic to the scene of an emergency while passing London's heavy traffic and tight streets.

EVs for emergency vehicles is an interesting concept being discussed in various forums. I kept a log of how many kilometres I travelled over four shifts. Worked to be an average of 425km per shift in a normal Mercedes Sprinter ambulance and 510km in an Isuzu MU-X response vehicle. Short of being able to swap batteries in the same time it takes to refuel, EVs won't appear in Australia any time soon. There was a Tesla police car but that was a publicity stunt that went wrong.

We have an EV Skoda Enyaq for our specialist paramedic RRV in Devon and it works great, no issues with miles and have a rapid charger on base.

@@stephenreeves-brown7219 That's interesting to read. Skodas aren't very popular here, and we don't have the Skoda Enyaq yet. How long does it take to recharge?

If there were a few consecutive blues and two runs wonder how long the charge would last. Rural police cars are running out of charge on emergency calls.

the important thing is to grow the pseudo-ecologist business , however they are gasoline cars adapted with batteries, they will have ever poor performance and range
