I so appreciate your playthroughs! Especially your commentary on the writing and characterizations. I keep trying to remind myself that questions/concerns I have may get resolved/answered even tho I’m not confident lol. Great job!

First, I do like your deep knowledge of the Dragon Age Series lore. However, I think after listening to your discussion concerning lore maybe I might suggest that you are basing your assessments on something that might not be understood.
Let’s begin with the word lore, In Old English the word is lar, which means “learning, what is taught, knowledge, science, doctrine, art or act of teaching. There are other roots to such as those rooted in Germanic origins, Old Saxon and Old Frisian or Middle Dutch. However, they all track to the same meaning regardless of the origin. That alone is unusual in spoken and written languages as their perspectives all start and end in different places.
Another word worth exploring is doctrine, that began in Old French and Latin meaning principles, dogmas, field of knowledge and teachings, learning, and what is held true. What is not directly spoken about is that no lore is actual truth, it is accepted truth, that which is written as lore is always subject to change. As historians like to say, “History is written by the victors.”
That should leave you to understand that lore, whether written or spoken is not absolute, it is only as good as its sources. Because those sources are already tainted by their own beliefs, their own doctrine, or what influenced their decisions around what is truth. You can never be sure that what is believed in the current moment, the current physic of the society and its beliefs concerning truth, then I say lore, is like the weather, wait a few days, a month, or maybe some years and what was held to be lore before, will have changed again.
I have heard a lot of streamers now who are so knowledgeable about what has been written about the Dragon Age Series across all four of its parts. However, even after admitting that each part stands on its own in terms of the lore, the narrative, the storytelling, all appear to be quick to dance on the fact that what they believe is truth, is lore, is gospel.
I would like to suggest that you might find it easier to see what is being told as lore if you accept that it is only lore until someone else changes it. “May you live your life in moments, may those moments help you to discover treasures, may those treasures sustain you in happiness all the days of your life.”

Taashs story will all be revealed in due time.

Right. I feel like if Taash had just come out at the first mention if the Qun or Qunari and say "I'm not a part of the Qun", *that* would be writing lacking nuance. It's all fleshed out later as you get to know Taash. The point of good writing isn't to prove that they've read the lorebooks, but that they can weave it into a compelling narrative.

Last comment, I promise: the romance for the Hardened Neve sn't cut off. It's just harder because her relationship grows slower. No only can youn still romance a hardened Neve your can un-harden her if you work hard enough (like bring her on every single mission etc.)
HOWEVER, this isn't the case for the OTHER Hardened character. For some inexplicable reaaon, which sucks if you want to play a gay Rook.

The city choice imho is one of the better parts of Veilguard. It's consequence in romance is something that was sorely lacking in a lot of RPGs. Yeah, metagaming might make it all about who you wanna bone, but the companion react to a world changing event and show that they have their own life. Consequences of choices is a very exciting part of playing a RPG- whether it's tabletop or cRPG

Eventually u will need to use more the detonation combos, is easiert if u use the paused display for sure. But one way or another the detonations are very needed to control the field.

You get popped up saying because the events that happened in Treviso Lucanis has no time for your romance so basically dumps you btw taash didn't grow up in the Qun

I mentioned earlier, that you have chosen not to use sprint, to get out of trouble why ? it seems very logical to disengage fast .. you sometimes get lucky with the dodge thing, but very often you don't get enough distance between you and the enemy.. just curious.. 😉 ohh and another thing i can hear, more and more frustration in you voice, regarding certain things in this game..... still looking forward to " Your thoughts" but i can already see where this is going ...

Not going to even bother harping on Bioware tossing their own lore out the window. I am just grateful studios like Larian don't feel it is necessary to have repeating lines mid combat; imagine Gale saying "They are at ranged" three times a fight in BG3. -.-

Not the same thing. The comment in action games are so u have an audio Cue , so u can react to things outside your view. It Is not needed at all on a turn based combat.

You know that BG3 is turn-based, right? There'd be no reason for Gale or anyone of an incoming attack.

@@azdart However repeating just "Enemies at range." over and over again is not really helpful either. At the very least they should be more detailed like "Archer on your left!" that way it'd be less grating and more useful.

      @azdart 15 дней назад +1

@113Sikaru yes, would be better on that way,. They did something like that for mele attackers, there was many times the companion would save me with their "Rook, behind you!", that one Is súper useful
