      I think the best time to see the autumn leaves is from the fourth week of October to the first week of November. But it varies slightly from year to year, so it's hard to say for sure.

    This is really helpful! Thank you for making this video and detailed instructions in your website! I've heard it's hard to climb up to the Torii Pass. Is it harder to go from Yabuhara to Narai in terms of steep ascents? I'm planning to start from Narai down to Nakatsugawa.

      Yes, it is. This trail is one of the hardest parts of the Nakasendo Way. But if you like hiking and are used to walking, it is not so hard.

    Hi Otakajo. Thanks for sharing this video, really excellent video. Which month did you record this video ? I am planning to do the Nakasendo Trail in Oct 2025. Now in planning stage. Do you have other videos on Magome to Tsumago, etc. ? Appreciate any help, arigato.gozaimasu.

    This is very helpful!! but if we wanted to do only 1-1.5hour of trekking is there any mid-stop that we should start from to reach Narai juku?

      Unfortunately, there are no bus stops along this trail, so you have no choice but to walk from Yabuhara Station to Narai Station. If you really have to, I think there is a way to take a taxi from Yabuhara Station to the entrance of Torii Pass. The Kiso Village Fire Station is located at the entrance of Torii Pass, so just tell a taxi driver that you are going to the Kiso Village Fire Station. However, I don't think he speaks English, and there are no taxis stationed in front of Yabuhara Station, so you'll need to call one. This way can reduce walking time about 30 minutes.

    Hi - the autumn colors look wonderful! May I ask what time of the year you filmed this video (mid-October, early November, etc.)? Thank you :)

    Hi this is very very helpful VDO. I wanted to know if it's possible to walk in reverse direction from Narai to Yabuhara? since we will be staying in Narijuku for a night and will wake up for a hike to Yabuhara. Do you recommend that?

    • @otakajo1393
      @otakajo1393  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, it's possible. I recommend that. (FYI)Though in Japanese, I have a website which guides you from Narai station to Yabuhara station over Torii Pass with photos. Please see the following URL: otakajo.com/2018/10/03/kisoji-walking-narai-yabuhara/

      Just wondered what it will be like in Torii Pass in early April? Snow covered the trail maybe?@@otakajo1393

      In early April, the trail is unlikely to be covered with snow, but there are still no leaves on the trees. Fresh green leaves appear from late April.@@giantoon

    I wonder how hard it will be to do it in December?

    • @otakajo1393
      @otakajo1393  Год назад

      If there is no snow, walking on this trail in December is not so hard.
      But I don't recommend it because it's cold in December.
