It is a true blessing to have loving grandparents who dote on their grandchildren and who ‘make themselves useful’ by offering such invaluable support and assistance. There will be friction. There will be gripes. But, at the end of the day, the love of one’s grandparents cannot be replaced by any other. Just like how the love of and from one’s parents cannot be superseded (in general, but of course). Hearing Paul’s gratitude to his MIL made me tear up. Such a nice MIL.

小孩是爸媽管教，阿公阿嬤寵孫，但雙方要有個共識，
當爸媽在管教的時候，阿公阿嬤不要干涉，那阿公阿嬤寵孫的時候，爸媽就不要過問，
如果雙方都覺得過當的話，要私下溝通，不要當著小孩的面前起衝突。
