We have Morris dancing in the UK but it's rare now and it doesn't come close to how funky Awaodori is. And the bits with RisaSensei's Ren dancing past the camera is so cool, i want to join in, or watch it on a loop all day long. ご苦労様。ありがとう。

      Hi 漢子,
      Thank you for posting.
The origin is no longer sure, but they say it was originally one of Nenbutsu folk dance, a dance with Buddhist sutra. It is said that the first Nenbutsu folk dance was to call for water.
