This is a great DIY video, immensely helpful and answered several questions I had. I am in the process of changing out my headlight assemblies and this is my reference material to tackle that job.
reporting back - this was pretty easy. The two fender bolts (which are absolutely necessary to remove) were the hardest part. I used a flexible extension just like OP suggested (had one in my toolbox) and that made the task possible - I'm really not sure how you'd do it otherwise. To get it back in I had to start the bolts back by hand and then use the flexible extension to finish the job. Removing the headlight fixtures was semi-straight forward but there is a lower bolt on the housing that is nearly impossible to get to, even with the bumper off but after realizing I could pull out 3 additional bolts the entire housing and housing mount had some wiggle room to get a very small ratchet on it. Again, cannot thank you enough for putting this together, I'm sure I'm at least 10 of your views on this!
Thank you for the video. I was originally searching for a video that would show how to remove the whole headlamp fixture from my 2013 BMW X1, but all I got was light bulb replacements. This answered my questions. Good job.
You do not need to remove the two bolts in the wheel well to remove the bumper. To help remove the sides, just use a credit card or two and insert it between the fender and the bumper where the clips are and pull.
Hey uhm I'd like to know your opinion, is it easy to remove front bumper carrier and front panel comparing to this procedure. I had a small crash and I don't know the damage. I mean I don't know if the damage is only at the carrier or the whole panel. Thank you for your time!

Thank you for this video! It was helpful. Congrats from Brazil, 2024.
Do I have to do all of that to change the fog light assembly? Can I access it from underneath the car by just removing the under engine cover?
Hi! You schuld also to show how did you put back the plastik bits (2:50 min) home made without special tools . Regards from X1 driver😂✌️🌞
at 1:00 you keep saying 'top bolts', there is only one bolt? not more than one?
