@@LadaPower With this lower low range gear fitted along with front and rear difflocks this makes the Niva supremely capable, what has let it down in the past is patchy build quality, l think there is still a requirement for a small sturdy, basic offroader like the Niva.

Please someone explain what this test is all about? I do get something is improved but what is the practical use of that improvement and why is it better? Test 1: it runs 21 sec slower yes but why is that better? I don't get the practical use for off-roading :/

With the figures given, there's only a slight change in high range, like 1.5% or so. If you were previously cruising at 3000rpm, it'll be 2950 now (or for whatever your speedo read for a true 100km/h, you'll now go at 101.6)... Seems they basically tried to get as close to the original high gearing as possible with the number of gearteeth on the new low range setup.

The gear ratio after installation VAL-RACING - Hi Gear increased 1,186 / LOW GEAR reduced 3,152 Attention to the non-ABS Lada Niva owners. Please note, when installing this kit, the speedometer on the increased row changes by 12-20 km/h more than the actual speed of the car, with a serial main crown/pinion ratio and wheels.

You will receive much more torque on the low TC gear. This is the main benefit. And you can move slower in the off road with the more torque.
