What I love the most about the way Danelle reports on cases is the way she talks about the victims. I find that sometimes it's easy to get sucked into violent gruesome cases and somewhere along the way forget that a real person was lost and that there was so much more to them than the way their life ended. I love how Danelle gives those people a voice and makes sure we remember them for who they were. Danelle, thank you so much for the work you put and the compassion and warmth you radiate! ❤ Rest in peace, Reagan ❤

My close male friend from HS was shot in the head and killed, left to die on the street, during a random attempted mugging when he was 21 and going to graduate college in three weeks. He’d even already got a (really good) job back at home that he was due to start after graduation. He was such a kind person TRULY... One of those people you’d truly never hear anyone say a word about and no one would do anything but laugh or smile if you mentioned his name.
The muggers didn’t even take his two credit cards, and $225 cash in his wallet. They killed him for LITERALLY no reason. They say it was a “robbery gone wrong” but you don’t need to hold a gun to someone’s head to rob them. Sounds like a “well kill em if we have to” gone right. My friend was over 6 feet and the person who approached him to rob him was tiny and younger so they think he literally was like, “No kid fuck off leave me alone” and at that moment he was shot in the back of the head by the other person (the one w the gun got life, the one who came up in front is out of jail bc he ratted on the other & got only 10 years and out w good behavior - this was a while ago now if I didn’t say that before).
He was walking home from a party he’d left early to study for a test. If he’d have stayed and done the wrong thing he’d be alive. Life is wild.

The police did provide services to those involved, but for a few, it was an extremely graphic and heartbreaking case, which stays with them still. The Supreme Court has been declaring bills already passed by Congress unconstitutional because language such as "violent offense" aren't clearly defined. Personally, I believe sex offenders should never get out of prison but unfortunately, I don't get to make the rules. As a society, we need to decide what we want. We can't on the one hand be mad about mass incarceration and on the other hand be mad when people are let out of prison.
If you think through the idea that families of crime victims should be allowed to sue the government for failure to protect, you'd see that it would apply to every victim and how unworkable that would be.

Fear ran through all the young women I knew, myself included. We walked in packs of 3 or more at all times while out, just in case. It's silly, but I stayed away from Bodega after that. I don't think I've ever been back.

@@caseek866 I still don't find that concerning, I am seven years older than my boyfriend. Look at Kylie and travis, it's the same thing. I guess it could be alerting but idk not a red flag to me

I'd never date someone who can't buy their own alcohol.

Sharaina Menerey it’s not as big of a deal to me when they’re older like if it was like 28 and 35 but I feel like there’s a huge maturity difference and basically being at different stages in life when you’re 20 and 28. But that’s just my opinion

What I learn time and time again as I get older is that very few people actually do their jobs properly...whatever their jobs may be...when it come to public safety though it’s unforgivable:(

I work nights in a somewhat shady area of Down Town - Buffalo, NY. I don't go anywhere without pepper spray and my knife (palms length legal) luckily, we have a parking ramp that is attached to our facility which is well lit and monitored at all times. If there is an occasion that the ramp is full and we have to park in the lot across the street, they will provide a security escort to all employees who have to walk outside to their cars. We have to do whatever we can to stay safe in this scary scary world we live in!
