In other survival shows (beside The Unit/Mix Nine maybe) they almost never give trainees perform difficult songs by e.g. SHINee, BEAST, INFINITE or TVXQ (not counting the early/debiut songs like in P101) as if they were afraid the trainees will suck and the songs won't bring a lot of people to watch it (which is BS). Yet this show was ballsy enough to give these boys Fiction (which demands a lot of vocal control and harmonies) and Sherlock (which is ridiculously high and has hard choreo) and Mirotic (hard vocals and that freakin' high note). It's like they are saying: "Hey, you want to be singers? Then this is the level you should be to succeed in this industry" and that's how it supposed to be. Don't get me wrong, it's not like songs by other artists are bad, it's just in my opinion these shows should at least teach trainees something and the best way is to learn difficult things so they can get better in the future :)

I feel like doing the newer songs that are from the newer groups (aka EXO, BTS, and so on and plz don't beat me I love EXO and like BTS they are good groups in their own ways) won't help the trainees as the older generation of Kpop was much more demanding. SHINee, BEAST, TVXQ are groups that require A LOT from these newer trainee but I feel its better as if they are able to accomplish this obstacle then they will grow more as an artist in this very compensative industry. I give them effort for trying to put all their efforts into these songs because they are amazing and challenging songs.
true i mean the so called directors are basically only evaluating them. they don't help teach these boys whatsoever. and bcs they get sub-directors or like guest teachers, they have no one who track their improvements. on other shows, each trainer know how to handle each trainee bcs they get to know each other overtime, and try to improve together overtime. i don't see it with under nineteen.
eunhyuk gave the performance team a hard song from super junior XD I feel really bad for the kids. The choreography for U itself is really hard, and they who barely knew the song had to perform it with Eunhyuk the main dancer who knows the song for 13 years, imagine the burden. And also because they are performance team and not vocal team, the burden of singing Kyuhyun, Yesung, and Ryeowook part must be killing them. Up until now kyuhyun still stand on the very top of best vocal and technique from all of the male idol. I thought eunhyuk was too hard on them. But they performed it well! That's really amazing.

Ji Jinseok worked so so so hard for every performance, and it shows. He couldn't dance at all before, but look at him now; he can do those flashy steps amazingly, and he can dance really well. But, I've been watchig Under Nineteen since the first episode and I just want to let you know that Soomin is one of the sweetest trainees in the show. I just wish he thought about his choices a bit more rather than just blurting them out. He did drag his team down, I agree with that. I wish he was more considerate about his team and I wish he was careful with his choices.

It's soo min's part, because soomin kept rapping the wrong lyrics during rehersal, so he ask Sungho to rap together for one small part of the line. Thats why only sungho's voice is heard, because soomin did not recall the lyrics.

Up until this episode, I personally think Soomin has proven nothing except his rapping skills. Hands down he's very good in rapping and has that swag. But for me, if he wanted to be an idol, he should try his best to upgrade his other skills. Watching those episodes, I'm disappointed with the rankings. There are other trainees better than him. He isn't a good leader. He's not trying his best at dancing. Failed at singing. And not a very good teammate. Well, I guess, with all the support he's getting, he can debut right away, alone.

Beast vocals were amazing and the new groups of today just can't compete. Beasts' songs were complex and each member of the team complimented each other's voice and they had so much talent. The groups of today are good but 2nd generation K-pop is just so much better.

I thought sungho could've shine rapping in this song by reinterprating fiction to create his own verses but instead he only rap the original line but in his own style. I think that's why his delivery sounded insincere bcs it's not his own msg.

Up until this episode, I personally think Soomin has proven nothing except his rapping skills. Hands down he's very good in rapping and has that swag. But for me, if he wanted to be an idol, he should try his best to upgrade his other skills. Watching those episodes, I'm disappointed with the rankings. There are other trainees better than him. He isn't a good leader. He's not trying his best at dancing. Failed at singing. And not a very good teammate. Well, I guess, with all the support he's getting, he can debut right away, alone.

Beast vocals were amazing and the new groups of today just can't compete. Beasts' songs were complex and each member of the team complimented each other's voice and they had so much talent. The groups of today are good but 2nd generation K-pop is just so much better.
