    6th Why: "because waking up early every day for work stresses me out, so I need to go drink with friends at night...." Root cause = work stress. :D

    • @Sean-T
      @Sean-T  7 лет назад +4

      Yup. Definitely could be another root cause.

      6th doesn't exist, because no one forced you to work, and if it is stressing you then you should stop going completely.

    so informative and helpful to someone like me who has been out of school for 30 plus years. Helps remind me of thought process i haven't invoked in my daily thinking for a long time.

    It’s extremely important to ask quality questions.
    Otherwise, this method leads to meaningless conversation or just simple criticisms to a personal skills or behavior.

      Is there a way to know when to stop? Not all root causes are obvious since many of them seem similar when not ordered.

    Thanks for the video but what do analysts recognize as the key layers to way of thinking?

  • @accarlisle
    @accarlisle 6 лет назад +5

    Q6: Why? A: Because I have deep seeded trauma that forces me to self sabotage by drinking too much and making poor choices.
    Point: Lack if responsibility is NOT a root cause.

    • @klaskycsupo121
      @klaskycsupo121 5 лет назад +8

      That is not the root cause. Trauma is troublemaker but not the obstacle itself. If trauma is obstacle than you have no power over your life. Trauma is in the past, you can't fix it, it can't hurt you.

      i highly doubt the company would care about you not taking responsibility for your own failures. They especially don't want someone that jumps at the opportunity to blame anything and anyone but themselbes

    • @PortraitPulp
      @PortraitPulp 5 лет назад +4

      boopy owo Five is a arbitrary cut off point, why not six? Why not why at seven? Why not why at eight?
      Also the answer you come up with at why number one could be wrong therefore making every subsequent reason incorrect.
      There could also be multiply responses to why rather than a singular. So at why 1 the answer is A and B but you only followed down the linear line of A you ignore all the factors of B. So when you get to the arbitrary fifth why, you could have the wrong response.
      I’m no expert so I could be wrong on this. I would love to hear back?

    • @seignee
      @seignee 5 лет назад +2

      @@PortraitPulp I mean I was planning to meme you out, but jeez this is a good response lol.
      But yeah you're right. I guess you could adjust how many "why" questions you'd ask depending on the situation (but who's to say thats the correct place to stop?) but I think it'd be a great place to start going in the right direction, since a lot of people (including me) are guilty of settling for the first answer neglecting any underlying reason that may cause the issue.

    • @noxaeterna8761

      @@seignee im guilty of going down a rabbit hole. The questions are *ENDLESS*. Then you run into the most unsolvable questions or hard question of the *universe* or beyond. I guess i need direction when i ask questions. I wonder if it'll stop the questions or not.

    I do not know why this video got so many likes, sounds like a bunch of fancy words with some images. If you want to boost your analytical skills , you practice math, and math is not just manipulating symbols, it is actually problem solving. Don't waste your time with this video and go to Khan Academy instead.

      I would also recommend reading. Whilst math improves your problem-solving and ability to break things down, reading can be a good booster in learning to pick up details and analyse them. Gaining general knowledge will also help with some analysis, and make it easier.

      Philosophy is very helpful because it's all about using concepts precisely, formalizing and forming arguments, finding assumptions you didn't realize you were making, and such. Domain-specific knowledge is also necessary to actually come up with ideas that aren't trivial or obvious.
