Anna Karenina is an old book, that’s actually crazy that some random Mario maker level references it. Over the summer I worked at a summer stock theatre and one of the plays we did was “Anna in the tropics” and that book is like the whole plot of the show, what a strange place to find a reference to it lol
It's one of the most referenced books in the entire history of the world. Ask 100 people on the street to cite the opening paragraph of Anna Karenina, and you probably get like 50 people get it right.

I think that Kirby level meant that if you wanted to get the "true ending" of the level, you had to choose not to get checkpoints. Maybe without the checkpoints the level is hard enough to be Super Expert worthy because otherwise the level seemed kinda easy and I was surprised to see it in Super Expert

That Yoshi midair tech can actually be done in Mario Maker 2 as well, and with every item. Plus, you don't need to do left-right midair inputs; you just need yoshi and a ceiling. You spit the item at the same time as you jump off, then bonk the ceiling to land on the item, shell, pow, switch, spring, or whatever. In the NSMBU style, you don't even need a ceiling, if you do a super low dismount.
Its honestly so cool that it is possible

PMiller has some sick levels. The Yoshi spit tech has been around a while, even in SMM2 with dry bones and springs.
There are a lot of things I would've expected from a level titled "Anna Karenina." And that wasn't any of them.
i thought the last level was actually kinda cool there obviously went a lot of work into that level and looked like some interesting gameplay too in my opinion
That level would have fit perfectly into W8 of SMB3, I thought the level design was really well put together~

That Yoshi midair is actually quite commonly used in hard Mario maker 2 smw style levels.

Speaking of Meta Knight, what happened to Ryukahr playing Smash Bros? He did a few of those videos about 4 months ago and it seemed like he was planning on making it a regular thing but that seems to have not panned out. I really enjoyed watching him play Smash.

Legends say that it was that portion of the level that the creator struggled the most with during the clear check process. It's just a mercy that Ryu managed to skip it by accident, or he never would have seen his precious Peach again!

Man I hope they bring back the 100 Mario Challenge for Mario Maker 3. Mario Maker 2 felt like a letdown from the start with that stupid 30-life endless mode and the absence of the 100-life challenge.
I don't know if I've ever seen a SMW water level in this game. I don't know why it's so uncommon.

Have you ever done a run where is only one game? (Ex SMB3 levels only) if not, that could be interesting.
Would it kill some creators to put a friggin checkpoint in their levels?
They knew how well the quality of their levels was comparable to dookie, so they didn't want to play sections of it more often than neccessary for the clear-check.
I don't know how prevalent they are but there's at least a good number out there that were created before checkpoints were added. I would imagine they would have a higher prevelance in super expert cause no one wants to play a maxed out subworld

@@skeetsmcgrew3282 You can cheese a novel like that though, in just an afternoon, just read the CliffsNotes. Or a Wikipedia entry of it, whatever the kids do these days.
I just used to go to the public library, there was a specific series of published books by analytic literary critics on all the classics, each publication with several essays on the specific book my AP class was going through. Based all my essays on those essays, my book reports, my essay tests, especially if I just read part of the book, or if I needed to remember or focus on specific aspects of the books I did read.
So I could cheese a Classic by just doing that, but it did teach me to greatly appreciate even to this day literary analysis of poems, books, and all that jazz.
