Are lizards running the world? 'No, they're not'. Sounds exactly like something a lizard running the world would say....🤔
Well, I've called more than one politician and preacher a snake, so...
yep, a human would have a more emotional response and go through the reasons why he isn’t a lizard. lizards unsurprisingly have more reptilian and binary responses like yes or no. Lizard or not Simon is awesome…
😊.
That settles it. It's a fact!
Beat me to it.
Not seeing Simon edited into a lizard person in the thumbnail feels like a missed opportunity.
In an old vid on today I found out his pic is flashed up when showing examples of people that are really reptiles
It's superfluous. He's a lizard onscreen right now.
I don't know, instead of that we got penis people for the thumbnail.

An entire Decoding the Unknown on Helena Blavatsky would be incredibly good. Stories like the saucer in the dirt, or the brooch (I think) in the pillow would send Simon absolutely mental.

@@mikebg1984very reductive but yes, though she was referring to the aryan invasion of India and then the Nazi’s said that was them 😂 the entirety of the western world had an obsession with eastern practices at the time and the nazi’s especially went crazy with it. I beg to differ: As someone who is owned by a cat, I can tell you that they DO speak: In Cat. Meows, purrs, trills and hisses (not to mention a LOT of body language) form their vocabulary. But I agree with your main premise that lizards do not rule the world, if only because the cats would not allow such a thing.
My dog speaks to me all the time in the same manner. Most of the time he tells me that he would like a little more tasty human food please, or that he is craving attention. A significant subset of what he says though is complaints that the feline overlords just do not allow the primitive and barbaric humans to pay enough attention to their loyal canine companions. I'm actually starting to believe that I am owned by an absentee cat, even though my 'pet' is a dog. Maybe I'm owned by a syndicate of cats who have clubbed together to purchase a human, and dominate me and my dog!
Oh cats would never allow lizard rule. Humans only rule at the cats pleasure.
@@Moondog-wc4vm 🤣🤣🤣 I think you are absolutely right! I can just see a secret club for cats who wish to purchase shares of a human but not actually live with one. Could it be called something like, "Human Club for Ferals"?
@@evalevy2909 Exactly what I think, only you put it much more concisely. Cats are obviously the behind-the-scenes rulers and have pulled off the neat trick of letting us think we're in charge while they lead royal lives supported by us.

I am absolutely loving Ilze's scripts! The extra commentary adds a wonderful level of conversation to Simon's almost automatic dismissal of these more far-fetched topics and gives them a light-hearted feel that pokes fun without denigrating. Well done all around!

Ilze is killing it with the scripts! Well done as always, and honestly this is probably my favorite of all your shows, Simon. I'm all in for the shitting on insane nonsense :D
I agree. How anyone could believe this claptrap is beyond me. It is worth a laugh I reckon.
I disagree. Both Simon and Ilze giving their commentary is too much, in my opinion. I would rather Ilze laid out the topic and left the judgments and opinions to Simon. After all, the format of the show is such that Simon is going blind into it which is what makes the commentary interesting in the first place. Pre-canned commentary by Ilze is unnecessary.
@@WhosThere26 Do I smell sexism?
@@WhosThere26 I totally respect your opinion on this. Not everyone is going to like this style. I'm just curious if you watch/listen to other Simon channels in a similar style (Brain Blaze; Casual Criminalist, etc.)? If so, what do you think when those authors do the same thing? Is it the way Ilze does it that you don't like? Or the topic (outlandish conspiracy theories vs. true crime/random topics)? Or the way that Simon responds to Ilze vs. Danny/Kevin/Arnaldo, etc. (i.e. he's often not on the "same page" with Ilze)? I'd just like to know a bit more about your reasoning because I'm curious. I personally love hearing the writers' voices and I think Ilze gives the scripts a light-hearted feel that Simon's overt skepticism can sometimes deny these fantastical topics.
@@JoshSweetvale I think he sounds like a salty lizard person believer....
I'm surprised you haven't read Good Omens, it seems like the kind of book you'd like. It's a comedic novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman about the friendship between an angel and a demon, and their attempts to thwart the apocalypse.
The "Good Omens" TV adaptation mini-series was aired a few years ago -- a production overseen by Neil Gaiman, as his dear friend the late great Terry Pratchett made him promise he would.
The show was a smashing success, and will be airing its 2nd season very soon this year. 😉
My all-time favorite quote from that book will always be "I DON’T CARE WHAT IT SAYS, said the tall biker in the helmet, I NEVER LAID A FINGER ON HIM."
I still chuckle when I think about it, even after all these years (if you know, you know)
It’s a good show
It's fantasy. Simon despises fantasy. And he hasn't even watched Doctor Who, so the Amazon series doesn't even attract his attention for David Tennant
Simon has 0 imagination. Reading or watching good omens would be agony for him.

Rewatching this after the Good Omens Finale was an absolute slap in the face when I heard the Good Omens reference. For those that don’t know, it’s a very good book from the nineties that was turned into a TV show. It’s by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett and it’s very good.
I believe this one was perpetuated in 1934 when a LA times writer proved that his editor did not in fact read the articles before passing them on and the article "Lizard People's Catacomb City Hunted" was published. The next day the newspaper printed a retraction.

Wow Simon, I've always enjoyed your postings. You cover such a wide range of topics with a blend of sarcasm, comedy, & knowledge. I agree with you once again (I'm sure that makes you sleep better) that "The Sun Also Rises" is fucking awesome, though "The Old Man & The Sea" meant more to me as a beach kinda guy. I read for enlightenment & entertainment & YES, it is enough to 'enjoy the scene" instead of analyzing everything.

Yes, Simon presents with sarcasm, comedy, and knowledge; but let’s not forget his endearing ignorance that he brings oftentimes. He’s often unknowing of what many of us, even from different cultures, would consider common knowledge..and it just adds to his appeal somehow😊
Books you read in school are infinitely more enjoyable when you don't have to read them and analyze them. I reread a couple we had to read for class and they were SOOO much better.

Just so you know, Simon, I’m a huge Robert E. Howard fan. In The Shadow Kingdom story Kull is a usurper king, so not part of the royal bloodline. It’s a fantastic story.
The mesopotamian demons and gods are rich, vibrant, and scary. There are often small demon statues to keep away Lamashtu. She was a beast. Often they kept statues of Pazuzu, her ex (he's the demon statue at the start of The omen). Some Lamashtu representations looks quite lizards. There's a post credit scene in an episode of Futurama where a mad scientist is trying to create the most evil creature ever. After mixing all the ingredients and throwing the switch, a dude walks out from the device and says, "Turns out it's man!".
I thought the Seraphim were the angels with six wings. Two for flying, four for covering their bodies. Lilith being Adam's first wife originates apparently in Hebrew folklore, so it's one of those extracanonical concepts.
And I love that Ilze points out that ancient-alien conspiracies assume people in ancient times had no imagination. Because I think that's what irks me the most, especially when it honestly looks like a big old case of projection. I mean, Icke and Graham Hancock and all their ilk can't even try to imagine what people in the bronze age or the stone age were actually thinking or how they might have built their megalithic structures. It's just lazy "aliens/atlanteans did it" bullshit.
I know Graham, and it's not just about aliens. We are talking about non-replicatable achievements by modern means, made by seriously primitive people with no technology. Wmsome of their accomplishments simply couldn't be done without knowledge that we had no way of possessing at the time. We also know that non human entities have been visiting this planet since before there were people. It's more likely they were taught some stranded aliens version 9f Boy Scout technology, than they learned how to carve Andezite with a chicken bone chisel.
The complete dismissal of human potential really grinds my gears.
The entire Bible is Hebrew folklore sooo, his is it non canonical?
What's really funny is people on RUclips have shown how to raise huge stones by hand. There are a ton of videos of this one guy doing it with just buckets of rocks to make the stone teeter totter.

Hold up; you didn't dismiss Skyrim as fantasy at the mention of dragons but you did for talking cats? The mask slipped, he knows dragons are real!
So I found a post a few weeks ago about this... The post reads: what if people we consider collectors today were actually just dragons in disguise, building their hoards?
"I am a dragon. And this is my hoard."
"You... don't look like a dragon."
"Well, hardly anyone does, these days. Times have changed, we have too. The scales and tails thing worked with the dinosaurs, but we learned quite quickly that... that wasn't going to fly with you people."
"You were around all the way back to the dinosaurs?"
"Well, not like... me personally. How old do you think I am?"
"... There's no safe answer to that."
"No."
"So... when you say this is your hoard...?"
"All dragons have them. Some stick to the old gold and jewels thing, but that's so cliche these days. Most of us like our hoards to be a little bit more sophisticated than 'shiny.""
"Like what?"
"I have known dragons to collect snowflakes from the first fall of the year over dozens of centuries. I know dragons that collect petals of flowers left on the graves of loved ones. Dragons that keep and care for soft toys and comfort items, left behind as children grow up. Dragons that guard happy memories and shards of sunlight, kept safe for rainy days. And me, I keep a sanctuary of words. A bastion of language, of poetry. Of written music and achingly beautiful prose. I am the Guardian of this monument to linguistic majesty. I collect stories of love and life and death and mourning and joy. There is nothing more beautiful in all the world, no coin or gem or sliver of starlight more fantastic than a well-told tale. A story is this world's truest treasure, and what better chest for it than a book?"
"Wow. So these things... really mean a lot to you, huh?"
"More than anything in this world." "So... I probably can't borrow your copies of Discworld, can I?"
"You absolutely f***ing cannot."
midnight-scrivener was the poster.
When Simon joked about Danny being chained to the radiator, it was a metaphor for Danny’s dependence on his heat lamp! This channel is run by lizard people! 😂
I remember David Icke on television saying that the Isle of Arran off the West Coast of Scotland was about to disappear beneath the waves, still has not happened.
"That's the badger!" ROFLMAO! I have GOT to have that t-shirt!
The editing in this is phenomenal. Changing the music every time Simon goes on a tangent was genius hahaha
Prediction: Simon reads ten pages of Lovecraft, then we get months of tangents about how he can't understand the appeal 😂💖
More likely someone trendy will say they don't like Lovecraft, so now he doesn't like Lovecraft. Seeing as that's exactly what happened with Tolkien.
He's never read it, but he magically knows he doesn't like it...
I imagined this was 49.40 min of Simon laughing followed by "No"
I'm so grateful to have found this channel. I've been really into creepy and mysterious content lately and after a few vids it becomes evident that a lot of those creators believe in the supernatural or entertain it as plausible and I'm always disappointed. So this channel has been a real treat.
I can't wait for Simon to say 'no' for 50 straight minutes.🦎 Oh, hey, I have ichthyosis. I'm a lizard! I honestly thought I'm a cat.
"You're a Lizard, Harry" ~ Meg Markle (citing reason for divorce)
😂😂😂
Why did I hear that in Hagrid's dulcet tones? 🤣🤣🤣
It'd be cool to see a Blaze Boy Plays: red dead. I know that will never happen, but one can dream.
Blaze Boi Plays. Sounds like a cool new Simon channel!✌️😺
@@PhoenixLyon it used to be. A few years ago. He quit making videos because very few people were watching. If you can find it, I'd recommend watching Simon play the Lord of the Rings Shadow of Mordor. Actually hilarious.
Idk how I missed this channel!! I really enjoy the videos that allow your personality to show!
Kris Kristofferson is an American singer/songwriter. He is the writer behind one of my favorite songs ‘Me and Bobby McGee’ sang soulfully by the late Janis Joplin in 1970.
Simon, you’ve not read Lovecraft?! 💔 Also: it’s 1800s horror of the unknown, which means there’s 2 outcomes… one, you go mad, coz you think something’s there and it’s not… and two, you die, coz you’re rationalizing it’s something your brain has made up, there’s nothing there, and there in fact is. 10:38
This is 100% the funist conspiracy of them all. I love the idea reptilioids are among us, eating hamburgers, working crappy jobs.
Simon doesn't like "fantasy" but he is OK with teleporting and FTL travel.
I've met people like him in person. As far as I could tell, it always boiled down to some kind of twisted justification along the lines of "fantasy is for kids, sci-fi is for adults". It's kind of asinine, but hey, there's no accounting for personal taste (or weird complexes affecting one's taste in entertainment media).
it always makes me giggle when Simon can't make it even a full sentence into the intro without interrupting with his own commentary 😂
"Anti-lizard pills"!!! Oh, I'm dying laughing. Can we get merch with that on it?
RE: James Bond movies -- MoonRaker + SkyFall = MoonFall?
We all know this video was sponsored by Simon's lizard overlords.
there is also a British connection to lizard people - the Silurians and Sea Devils, from Doctor Who, bipedal beings who evolved from dinosaurs. who both want to wipe the stinking apes who took over the planet. Both monsters appeared on the show in the 1970s.
Fun episode! The ending was a bit hyperbolic and overly dramatic, but you reigned in your writer fairly well
